Rodas's pov------------------"Have you ever thought about living an honest life?" I ask, pouring a glass of scotch and bringing my attention back to the two people sitting before me. "Away from this mansion, away from all these," I say again, taking out my gun and placing it on the table. Jeremy and Zeco look at each other with blank faces before looking back at me. Jeremy gulps down a whole glass and shrugs."I haven't given any thought about it," he says quietly. Zeco nods along. "Me too"I sigh. They don't help at all. "Honestly, when I think about it... I can't imagine at all" I laugh. "What would I do? I don't know anything I can do besides holding a gun and cursing at people"Jeremy tries to pour himself another glass but Zeco takes away the bottle and puts it away. I chuckle. They made up I guess. "I think you don't know if you don't do it" Jeremy mumbles and then looks up at me. "I mean you should find out, what if you turn out to be a great family guy" His words made me laugh again. He sounds ridiculous to me but at some point, I even think he might be right. Then again... I can't even imagine about it."What would you two do without me?" I ask. "The thing we've always done" Zeco answers. "Zeco and I love each other" Jeremy blurts out all of a sudden, making Zeco choke on his glass. He looks at Jeremy with wide eyes. "What?" Jeremy glares at him. "I just told him the truth" Zeco coughs again."Y-yeah... Jeremy but we are currently talking about a different topic" "I'm still into the topic-""I already knew Zeco... Don't worry" I say and nod at him. He leans back on his chair and rubs his face. He is embarrassed. "I was trying to say that Zeco and I love each other... We have been living in this world forever but Elora hasn't Rodas" I force myself to swallow the drink after hearing Jeremy's words. "She has endured too much... She deserves to be happy. If you love her and truly want to be with her then you can go, Rodas... You don't have to worry about what will happen to us. Zeco and I are more than enough to handle everything and if you can't choose then...""Then what?" I ask furiously.Jeremy sighs and shifts in his seat. "Then leave Elora and let her be happy-" Zeco grabs Jeremy's shoulder but Jeremy shrugs him off. "I'm just saying what should be said. You don't have to be obedient in front of-" Zeco does not let him finish and covers his mouth."He is a bit drunk," he says with an apologetic look but I just shake my head. "It's ok!" I say. I understand. Jeremy has always been Elora's best friend. So, I understand his anger towards me. "I shouldn't have even given you her address. You went there and only fucked up things and came back here. Just fucking go if you want to go and be with her. We are here to handle the organisation. And if you can't then tell her straight forwardly. Don't keep her hanging" Jeremy shouts after slapping away Zeco's hand from his mouth. Zeco picks him up even though Jeremy struggles to be on his feet. "We are leaving!" Zeco tells me before dragging Jeremy out of the wine cellar.I run a hand through my hair. It's so embarrassing that I'm taking so long to make a decision. So many things are going in my head, along with the words of that officer I met in the meeting that day. There's not much time left in my hand. I'm bound to get destroyed this time. Even if I leave everything, the fact doesn't change that I've killed countless people and been involved in many illegal things. I stop at a sudden thought arising in my head. I rush to my bedroom and rustle into the pockets of the suit that I had worn that day in the meeting. I remember that officer giving me his card before I came back home. I finally find it crumbled inside the back pocket of the pants. I sit on the edge of the bed and dial the number. Her picks up within two rings."Look! It's you Mr Castillo" his sarcastic voice almost makes me cut the call but I tell myself to calm down."Can we talk?"--------"So, are you finally confessing to your crime?" He asks, leaning back against the chair and crossing his leg."Do you have evidence that I've committed a crime?" I ask him back.He smirks."We are almost there""What if I confess?" His jaw drops and he immediately sits straight."No way!" Did I shock him? Guess, he didn't expect me to say that."But before doing that I want you to promise me one thing officer" His face turns into a serious expression again. "What?""You'll not touch any of the boys and you'll not go near Elora" "That's a lot of promise, Mr Castillo" "Then forget it" I get up. "Fine!" He answers. I look at him in amazement."Are you getting a promotion after this officer?" He laughs before shrugging. "Who doesn't after catching a big shot like you Mr Castillo?" I nod."Good for you""So..." He says. "When are you doing it?" "I have a thing to do first," I tell him. "Don't worry... I'll let you have your promotion officer" "If you confess then they might lessen your sentence, Mr Castillo... And I found out that you've been doing some good things too... So its-""I'll call you Officer" I interrupt him. I don't want to hear any of that for now. I have to go back to Elora. I know she is so mad right now. I wonder how she will react to my decision. Living an honest life still sounds ridiculous to me but I guess I'm moving forward to it and surrendering is the first step towards it. I know Zeco and Jeremy will be a bit stubborn and try to follow me once I tell them about this but I will make sure they are clear. At least I can do that for them for following me blindly to this day from the start. Honest life it is. I wonder if it will last.
