Jade pov
"Emily!!!"
"Jade!!" We towards each other meeting halfway and tackling Ieach other in a hug.
We kept the hug for a minute before we pulled back, a large smile on our faces.
"Jade! Oh, my goddess! I missed you!" Emily smiled widely up at me.
I returned her smile also happy to see her again. I blinked when I realized I could sense something from her. Following the sense, I turned to see Adrien looking at her with adoration in his eyes.
Realization dawned on mine and I turned back to face Emily, who was also staring, with an even bigger smile on my face than before.
"It would seem, you've found your mate." I grinned as her eyes immediately left Adrien to look at me.
"What are you planning?" she gave me a suspicious look but I held my innocent face.
"Nothing! What makes you say that?" I released the hug "So! When was the last time you flew?"Â The smile left her face immediately.
"Jade, you know I lost my wings. I can't fly..." Emily looked down sadness emitting from her.
"Says who?" I smirked and before she could register anything, I shot us up into the sky.
I grabbed her and bolted up in the air high above the clouds.
"AHH! Jade!!" Emily cried latching onto me tightly.
Mother, will I be able to restore Emily's wings now that I am as I used to be? I got no response for a moment.
You can.
With that knowledge, I flew us to above the clouds, with Emily still screaming her head off.
"Emily!!" I yelled over the wind "Do you trust me?" She gave me a fearful look.
"In any other situation but this!!" I smiled shifting our positions
"I'm going to drop you now." I could hear her heartbeat speed up faster than it should be beating.
"What?! NO!!"
"I will catch you but first..." I dropped Emily.
"JAADEE!!!" I got rid of my wings dropping with her.
Baby what are you doing!? Danny practically screamed in my mind.
Don't worry. I know what I'm doing. I blocked him out focusing on Emily.
"Use your wings Em, you're making your mate worry." I looked to Adrien who was watching us with helpless eyes as we free fall from the sky.
"I told you I can't!"
"And why can't you!?"
"You know why!!" She shut her eyes tightly waiting to fall.
"NO! I don't! And I don't give a damn about that reason! You have wings and you can fly! So do it!!" I demanded
Emily opened her eyes looking at me scared. So I pushed us higher in the sky again to give her more time.
"Come on Emily! You can do this! You were born for this!" She still looked unsure and scared. "Do you feel the wind? Blowing in your hair? Do you smell the air? Filled with the scent of nature around us? Do you see the sky? Vast and empty, with all this space so we can free our wings and..." Emily smiled face at peace.
"So we can fly..."Â beautiful white wings sprouted from her back spreading out in the sky.
I sprouted mine as well, and with the wind holding us we flew through the sky. Spinning around each other Emily's laugh echoed in the sky.
"Wow..." she breathed amazed at her bigger and new wings. It even had a golden tint in the sun. "...Beautiful..." she smiled tearing up.
"Told you so." She rolled her eyes at me before pulling me to her in a hug.
"Thank you."
"Of course. Now, let's get you back on the ground before your mate kills me." She giggled and we descended from the sky.
Her landing was a bit rough which created some cracks in the ground by at least it was a creator. Adrien wasted no time running to her to check for any injuries. I watched, quite amused at the two.
"It hasn't even been an hour yet, and you two weren't even apart." I snickered as they blushed.
"Luna!!" I turned at my call seeing Chris running for me. "It's your brother! Something's wrong!!" He hugged out breathless.
I wasted no time before I was back into the air and speeding towards the hospital. I got there in under a minute and ran up to the room. As I entered I saw that Jayson was being held down as he was thrashing about.
You can't control him! I'm taking back what's mine! Erik forcefully entered my mind delivering a message.
I stumbled back from the major pain and dizzyness he caused doing that. Ignoring my pain as there were more pressing matters I went over to Jayson. I took the place of one of the warriors closest to his head and set to work.
"One of you go get Daniel, the other is to stand watch by the door." They nodded running to do as told leaving only one warrior with me. I turned Jayson's face so he'd be looking at me.
"Jayson, I need you to listen to me..." he grunted "You're strong Jay, you have to fight him. Keep fighting him. Don't let him win." He screamed out in pain grabbing my arm.
"Not...not me! Mason!!" My eyes widened before I narrowed them growling angrily. "Help him!!" He squeezed my arm tightly.
Is there anything I can do?!
His pain. Take it! Safire answered.
I can assist in this. Scarlett added.
I placed one hand on Jayson's arm the other covering his eyes as I chanted a spell to relieve pain while taking on the pain Jayson was currently feeling.
The fuck is this!? Damn it hurts!! I thought still chanting outward.
How the fuck can he stand this?! Ruby complained.
I don't think he really is. Diamond worried.
Five minutes. Five minutes of chanting to relieve Jayson of his pain as he fought for Mason. Five minutes of unimaginable pain. Five whole ass minutes before it went away. And by then I felt like I experienced six periods in one while being punched in my stomach.
Ah dammit...just crawl into bed and sleep. I'm exhausted... Scarlett sighed the others agreeing.
Another minute went by before Jayson shot up looking around the hospital room.
"Better?" I asked
"Better." I smiled motioning to the warrior that she can leave now. She nodded leaving the room but the others stayed outside. I dare not move from this spot. If I do I know without a doubt I will fall.
"Are you okay?" Jayson worried realizing I hadn't moved a muscle.
"Fine..." My body betrayed me, giving out causing me to crumple to the floor. Sweat drenched every part of me and I felt like I was suffocating in a heatwave. Not only that there is a more annoying than painful ringing in my ear that is driving me crazy!!.
Make it stop!! Safire growled.
"Jade!"
"What happened?!" Danny's voice boomed over the ringing just a little. "Baby. Baby, can you hear me?" I felt him before I could register what he was saying.
I nodded.
"You gotta tell me what's wrong. Whatever is happening with you is driving Dean crazy and he won't stop speaking of a ringing."
"Ngh! It- I don't- ah-hah! Erik!" I tried curling into myself but Danny won't let me.
"He's the one behind this?" I nodded and two deep growls sounded throughout the room.
Since nothing could be done about the painful and annoying ringing Jayson and Daniel stayed by my side until it was over, which took another five fucking minutes!!
By the end of it I was truly exhausted.
We need rest, our energy is basically nonexistent. Empress sighed.
Without a word leaving my mouth Danny picked me up into his arms holding me bridal style. He shifted me so now he was cradling me in his arms right before he vampire ran out of the hospital and to our private home.
He set me down onto our bed then left the room. He came back ten minutes later with food. As he passed it to me I could smell the pasta I had cooked yesterday and my stomach chose that time to awaken. Danny seemingly relaxed as I began to shovel food into my mouth.
I'm terrible...how can I keep letting this happen? Every time I turn my back she's always the one to be hurt. It's like I can't keep my eyes off Jade. Some alpha I am. I frowned as Danny's thoughts wandered to me.
I set my food down, then proceeded to slap him bringing him forcefully from his self-loathing.
"You're not a bad mate or a bad alpha. Getting hurt protecting others comes with the job. And it sucks ass no doubt but, seeing them safe is worth it. And knowing that though I take care of everyone, you're the one who takes care of me. And I love you for it." I kissed his nose pulling away to grab my food again "So stop spouting shit."
Danny looked away sighing before feigning being hurt.
"Ouch." I rolled my eyes but kissed his cheeks to shut him up before going downstairs and washing the dishes.
I went upstairs once I was finished and stripped from my clothes. I wrapped a towel around me heading to the bathroom to take a nice warm shower. Once finished I changed into short pants and one of Danny's sweatshirts not feeling to look for mine. After drying my hair as much as possible I went back downstairs to Danny who looked at me with an amused smile.
"What?" He smiled more.
"Nothing." He shook his head before giving me a sky look "You simply look amazing in my shirt." I chuckled going over to him and pecked his lips.
"That's a fact." He chuckled pulling me to sit on his lap.
Staying there we watched a movie. Somewhere through it, I had fallen asleep. All I felt was arms around me, to which I snuggled into. I was extremely happy with how warm my make shit bed was, as well as the sparks that he emitted which calmed me down placing me into a deeper sleep.
