A Love That Never DiesWords: 4515

Ela's POV,"Okay. You might be having a mild fever.", Sam said reading the thermometer."Oh. It's okay. With so much happened in past 24 hours and lack of sleep-"He started to shake his head horizontally, "The weather outside is worst. No excuses are entertained.""But-""Shh!"He got me the pills. I had it with hot water."I can't believe I just caught fever because of his rejection. I was never this weak.", I murmured in disbelief as Sam covered me in a quilt."You're strong than you think.""How?""You realized the source of pain. Many people fail at this stage itself!", Sam smiled."I don't know whom to blame. I had the hell ready for you and Kylen when I got to know you guys had kidnapped the wrong bride. But now seeing both of you looking after me, me being a total outsider to you, it seems like you would never hurt any woman even if she was a snake."He chuckled."You must have got work too. I can take care of myself. Maybe a good sleep is what needed.", I said.He nodded his head."It's okay. I don't work in this city.""Where do you live?", I asked. Before he could reply, the door snapped open.Kylen had returned. He was fuming and Sam tried to ask him the reason behind it.Kylen went straight to the kitchen counter, opening the fridge. Since this house had a open kitchen, I could see them from the couch."Man, are you okay?"Gulping down the cold water from the bottle, he looked at me.I diverted my gaze to the painting hung on opposite hall. Both of them got out to talk. They must be finding difficult to converse in my presence. But why does it feel like they wanted to talk about me.  Afterall, overthinking is a burden. The drowsiness kicked in as I shut my eyes.I was covered in double quilts when I woke up. Seriously? I was sweating. God. "How's the lil girl doing now?"I turned to see Kylen in his gym wear. A grey tank top and olive shorts. With a headband wrapped around his head.He was sweating profusely."Hola!", he snapped his fingers.I didn't reply and started rotating my neck."Does it hurt to speak?""I don't need your pity.", I responded walking off."Ouch. Don't be rude to the person who's been helping you to stay alive."I turned but didn't realize he was right behind me.Afraid of stamping him, I held my foot in air before my knees cramped and thud! I fell down."Damn it.", I rubbed my elbows."It would be boring to save you every time Ms.MessBride.", he whistled moving past me.Here I was stopping myself from hurting him. Such a dumbass I'm."Kylen.", I stood up."Now what?""You knew my name all the way. But why were you behaving like you didn't know me?""I'm not a fool to simply keep someone at home without digging up about them, your highness. What if you turned up to be a thief and robbed all my precious things? "I frowned at him."I don't think there's anything precious other than your stupid brain!""Oh. Nice.", he grinned."You already went through my house and found nothing. Good job, Ms. Robber!", he saluted before climbing up the stairs. What is his brain? A generator that keeps producing these stuffs."You better stop tagging me with those weirdo names then!"I hope he heard me.Ms. Whomsoever. Ms. Messy. Ms. Robber. Ms. Wrong Bride!I can make a book out of it!"I have a such pretty name. Eleanor! He doesn't deserve to call me by it.", I mumbled."Uhm. I'm here itself." "I don't care.", I held my waist.Grabbing my hand from behind, he whirled me.My heart skipped a beat, facing him, as he stared into my soul.Placing a pair of keys on my palm, "You wanted a new house. Here it is.", he curled my fingers, "It is in the other side of city, and it is not mine. The location is sent to your number. You can move in there anytime."My eyes fixed at the keys."And yeah. You have to pay the rent. Don't expect me to be that good.""Thanks. I won't be troubling you or let you trouble me anymore.", I smiled. He understood that I wanted a house of mine. And he searched one for me, this quickly."Remember, I saved you from your failing marriage.", Kylen said taking his hand off from mine.Failing marriage."You don't know that.", I muttered. He nodded, "You don't know either.""Hey you! You definitely need our help to sort your new house.", Sam joined us.I giggled playing with the keys.I don't know why I felt Kylen's concerned stares were back on me, but when I looked at him, he was busy laughing out with Sam.My phone rang.Oh. Yeah. Where's my phone?I ran around to find it on the table.Sam and Kylen, both of them had grown silent.I answered the call looking at them.
