Ela's POV,I answered the call."Hi mom."Kylen and Sam kinda relaxed and moved away."Hey, sweetheart. How are you?""I'm fine."Ironically, I'm still recovering from body ache and mental illness which was stormed by Shawn's and my conversation!"I did read your message. I know that my baby wouldn't betray him. But where are you now? Staying all alone in a hotel?"I smiled looking at the keys, "I found a house. Already."Taking a pause, "Actually, I didn't. It was my kidnapper who found it.""What??"I explained to her about their situation and how they have been helping me.Also, I told her about my conversation with Shawn."You mean, the kidnappers are your friends now.", mum was astonished."Kinda. I haven't gone out to make new friends, mom", I chuckled."But why did you take so much time in calling me?", I pressed my lips."I'm sorry sweety, I had to take care of your dad. He was bit overwhelmed. And we had to take care of Shawn's dad. He felt his son was betrayed in same way as he was. So he had a little fight with your dad, you know.""How is he?"Does Uncle also think I betrayed Shawn? "He's doing better. But now I get the whole picture!""And what is it?", I asked curiously."Shawn's ego is hurt in this messed up situation. When men's ego hurts, they do things that they want to regret later. And that is why you have to do the opposite."I crossed my brows, continuing to listen."Give him time. Don't run behind him asking him to reconcile. Let the heated atmosphere settle. The more time you give him, he will get to think more.""Maybe.", I looked down."He will eventually get back to you. I guarantee you that, Ela."Hearing that made me feel good. It was all empty and new."Jeez, I thought the rent included the furniture as well. No wonder why everyone says LA is expensive.""Yeah. About that. If you want, we will come for shopping.  We know few places where you get stuffs at best price. Right, Kylen?", Sam glanced at Kylen, who was playing with the lights."I can do the weekends for shopping. I have lost a lot of time already because of this havoc of yours...", he replied.His eyes scanning me while I glared at him."I know. I know, it's my fault.", he spoke."I'll manage with the groceries and essentials for now.  Other things can bought up later as well.", I replied."Cool. We will shop on Sunday, then.", Sam gave me a hi-fi."Whose house is it by the way?", I asked."It's a friend's house. They moved to Seatle. So, he gave his house to rent.", Kylen replied."I have shared the details and point of contact. You can directly talk to him. And you get this house only until he returns from Seattle. That might make a stretch of eight months, I guess. Get in confirmed by him.", he added."That's great. I'll talk to him.", I nodded my head.We brought grocceries from a nearby mart and a mattress with a quilt."Alright. We will leave then.", Sam said, keeping the bags on the floor."Thanks a bunch for the help!""Anytime. We are sorry again.""Don't be, Sam. I'm sure, this is for the better.", I half-heartedly smiled.Kylen nodded his head silently."Good night, guys.""Good night."I locked the door after they left.I looked around. I'm here. I am free and independent!I got some money in my pocket. The money that I have earned from my part time jobs during my college time.Shawn had helped me in applying the jobs, saying, "You're gonna work in one of the greatest cities ever, Ela!"And here I'm.Not a bad start for a 24-year-old accidentally unmarried. Right? Let's go, Eleanor!Having oats as my dinner, I took another pill to be completely cured otherwise Sam would hunt me down.Across the week, I watched series, spent time on crafting furniture design for this house. Went for strolling around the streets.In no time, it was Sunday. Sam had texted they would be here in the morning since we are going to have a long day!And we started. Kylen as usual talked only when he felt required. Sam blabbering about the city."Wait. Where do you live Sam? You said, you don't work here.""In a town nearby. Approx 60 miles away from Northern Point.", he smiled."Woah. Okay."We went to a mall after having a buffe-breakfast in a popular restaurant.My eyes got hooked onto dressing shops. I couldn't resist myself and dragged them with me."Ma'am, don't empty your pockets here itself.", Kylen teased."No. I'm doing it for my job. I need to look good when I start working."They were relaxed seeing that I was not bugging their heads in selecting dresses for me.I like to choose what I wear!Then we went to other shops, ordered for a bed and a bunch of lamps. I love lamps.And my mom sent some money to my account stating that it's a gift for the new beginning!Yo! More shopping.Had a break by having ice creams.I saw a Mannequin wearing a pretty gown in the opposite shop."Sam. I will buy you another ice cream. Can you go and ask the price of that gown please?", I made a puppy face."Why don't you ask yourself?", Kylen snapped."What if it's too expensive and I can't simply walk out of the shop just like that."Kylen face palmed himself, "Never ending problems.""And I'm trapped because I love ice creams.", Sam shook his head.I pushed Sam towards the shop, "Go now before someone buys it!"He lethargically walked off while I chuckled.Looking around, I saw Shawn staring at me in surprise.It seemed like he was observing me for a while."Hi!"I kept a foot forward but recalled mom's words.Do not force him."Continue wandering with your kidnapper-buddies."Before Shawn could pass me a weird look, I watched his gaze tremble.I turned behind to see Kylen furiously frowning at him.Was Shawn afraid of Kylen?Why??
