Chapter 12: chapter 12

A Love That Never DiesWords: 4549

Kylen's POV,I don't care about why she chose shitty person like Shawn. Because it's her life! The voice in my mind shouted.I'm happy to see that she's not a crybaby waiting for him to forgive her. She's happily shopping for her new house.Gosh, I hate bonding with people. And here I'm because of Sam!He dragged me to accompany him in this endless shopping! The best part is she doesn't eat us up in filtering dresses for her.Sam and she seem to be like the lost childhood friends.Hope this is the last time I'm helping her!"She will move on. She's bubbly, it won't take much time.", Sam spoke as we were waiting outside the washroom with our fingers wrapped around the handles of shopping bags."I haven't told her about my conversation with Shawn. He literally used those cheap-revolting words on her. If she gets to know, she will shatter wholly.""True that.", Sam sighed."It's up to them, how they want to take it forward. We did our part Sam.""We did try fixing it. But Shawn didn't give a damn to our words either."Sam added, "My question is why doesn't he want to believe her."This question has got us freaking frustrated."Was he even ready to marry her?", I scoffed."He lives here. And she used to live in Boston.", Sam looked at me."Long-distance relationship.", both of us said in chorus."Maybe.""Yeah. Maybe. Poor she, she was ready to move to new city for him, leaving her family and friends in Boston.", Sam sighed."She could have gone back to her town. She didn't. It means she still has hopes for him.""Obviously!"Eleanor got out, and both of us outstared at her as she paced towards us."I have a lengthy list pending. Hurry up, you guys."Sam and I nodded as we continued to shop.Sam went to ask for a gown. And then there, she paused seeing Shawn.Shawn wasn't happy seeing us with her.I felt he had some rubbish ready to spit while Eleanor tried to approach him.He received a warning glare from me.He must have recalled my words, as he backed off.Glancing at her once, he disappeared.Eleanor looked at me in surprise as I met her eyes."Was Shawn afraid of you?"I gulped down my throat, breaking the eye contact."I'm asking you something!""Everyone is. Everyone is afraid of me.", I spoke, with pain resonating in my voice."I'm not. Sam neither. We are not afraid of you. Why should we be?"I looked at her as she raised her brows in concern."Ok. That dress costs a whooping two hundred dollars.", Sam returned."I don't want it anymore.", she walked ahead. "What happened?", Sam whispered, walking beside me."Shawn happened.""Oh man."We came to her house."Guys, good news. The furniture set and the cot will be delivered in an hour. I know you must be super exhausted, but we gotta settle everything up quickly and then you can never show your faces again to me!""Yeah!", I clapped."If that is what you want.", Sam smiled.Sam and I actually want that. We don't want to bother her anymore. She can lead her own life. The desk with working chair arrived first. We arranged it.Then the furniture arrived."What will you do when you have to relocate? Where will these go?", Sam asked slumping over the couch."Will take them with me.", she replied."What if new place has everything already?", I asked.Taking a moment, "I'll sell them. For a good price!", she munched a cookie. "Wait, are you guys checking if I'm still a kid?"Sam and I laughed together.Later, she talked to the owner of this house, on call. Then she came back in decorating the house."TV is a must. I'll get it by next week.", she looked around the living room."Hm. This is fine."The bell rang."Wohoo! Pizza and tacos are here.", Sam ran excitedly to answer the door.I was setting up the wall clock,"Ah! Come on."I saw Eleanor struggling to hang a painting. She was hoping continuously to get the painting hooked onto the nail."Why does this exist?", I pushed the ladder towards her.She made a culpable face looking at the ladder, "I forgot that it was in the other room."Climbing the steps of ladder, she hung the frame at once.I could have helped her directly as I'm tall enough to put the frame there without the aid of a ladder. But you get a different joy when you do it yourself. So, I let her do it.You had to see her.Climbing down the ladder, she was immersed in happiness, like she had achieved something."Wow. Now this room looks perfect."This is why I rather like assisting others, than helping them. Small efforts matter! There lies a hidden satisfaction in it."My Happy House!!"She stood next to me with a smiley face while we took a glance around her little happy place.
