Ela's POV,"I just met Sam last night! He was there to see me at the office.", I said locking the house."We better hurry up."I informed Kat before we left.Kylen started driving."Where is he?""Well, I received an auto-reply from the bank at midnight, stating a zero balance. Actually, Sam had made me his nominee for that account. That is how I received the message when it went straight zero. I immediately raised a ticket to fetch the details of the withdraw."We were stuck in the traffic. He continued, "I called him, his phone was switched off. I called his neighbor, and he said that Sam hadn't returned to his house. He literally drew a big amount this time. The bank returned the call in the early morning today, saying that the transaction was made in San Diego.""It's two hours from here.", I spoke.Kylen looked at me, "He doesn't have anyone other than me. He's an orphan, not knowing his parents nor his family. My family bought him in, seeing how I bonded with Sam, and I pushed him away, Eleanor.", he clicked his tongue, "I was dwelling in my own problems that I cared less for his. I hate that I ignored him."I kept a hand on his shoulder, "He will be fine."He nodded lowly.I sighed, "He had come to my office, and I didn't even face him. I was soo pissed off that I didn't bother to listen to him. Now, I'm hating myself for that.""Sammy looks to you after me. That is why I'm taking you along. He needs both of us."We drove to San Diego. We started searching by checking out around the ATM where he had withdrawn the cash.Kylen also looked into the CCTV footage of every nearby shops. We got a hint of him at a restaurant. Going there, they said he had dinner there around the time before the transaction."Who stays here? Any other friends or someone you know?", I asked as we crossed the road."Nope. I'm clueless why he was here."From another camera, we spotted him getting into a bus in morning today."Where does this bus go?", I asked."San Fransisco."We again started to drive.I mean, this is crazy to search like this. Sam is not staying at a single place! I kept dialing his number, hoping it would ring at some time.San Francisco was next to impossible! We had no idea where to search. The day ended and we hadn't found him. Damn it.Kylen stopped nearby a motel."Get some sleep.", he said handing me a key.I came to my room and luckily, I caried a bag of essentials with me, this time.Tucking my hair into a low ponytail, I changed to pajamas. It was ticking 1AM in the clock.Oh. I forgot to ask Kylen about when to start tomorrow.I got out and realized I didn't know his door number.A dumbo, I'm.I went to receptionist desk asking Kylen's room number."Ma'am it is 402.""That's my room number.", I spoke."Well, there is only one room booked under Kylen Leighton's name.""Oh okay. Are there any rooms still available?""Yes. There are 3 available in this hotel, ma'am.""Thanks."Where is he? I went out. It was so cold outside. I rubbed my arms.He was at the couch outside, his head buried in his hands."I would have booked a room. Why are you here?""I'm not lacking any money.", he said resting his head back."Kylen, I didn't mean that. Why aren't you sleeping inside?""I hate sleeping outside. I can only sleep in my house."Such a kiddo!I face palmed, "Carry your house with you wherever you go then!""Eleanor, go and sleep. I'm fine.", he said in a drowsy voice."Nope.", I sat beside him while his eyes were still shut.Checking my phone, I saw Sam was online in chat."Sam is online! His phone is on.", I called immediately.Kylen took out his phone to track him."He is in Orlando.""That is in Florida!", I said."Yup."Sam didn't answer and his phone got switched off, right after I called.Wait. He doesn't want us to find him."Fine. I'm booking this flight.", Kylen stood up excitedly.I just nodded.Yeah. Well, Orlando is far from San Fransisco.I peeped in his phone."We have only two seats remaining in this flight....oh. The seats are in different columns. Is that fine? Will you sit next to a stranger?", Kylen asked looking at me."Why would I have a problem with that?""Cool."Filling up all the details, we had to get ready as the flight was scheduled at 4AM."Tickets are confirmed.""Good."We reached the airport."What about your car?""I have called my driver to take it back home."We ran in the airport passing through a series of counters, making to the boarding gate in seventeen minutes!"Which one?", he showed me two tickets.I picked one randomly.I looked at my seat. There was an old man buckled up next to mine. He smiled at me as I occupied the seat.I looked around to find Kylen being settled in next column behind a couple of rows from mine. I had to turn my head diagonally to spot him.He had his lips pressed in anxiety, dissolved in his thoughts. I was more worried now."Child, are you okay?", said the grandpa noticing me."All cool.", I smiled uneasily.I continued watching Kylen, unknowingly. The grandpa stood up, with a quavery voice, he spoke to other guy, "This young woman here is rotating her head 180 degrees like an owl to watch her man, now and then. I feel bad for the estranged couple here.""No. No. It's fine.", I whispered. He walked towards Kylen's row while I held my forehead. How does this grandpa exactly know at whom I was looking?!!"Let us exchange our seats, kido. Your woman there,", he pointed towards me, "She needs you to be next to her. She has been watching you worriedly for the past five minutes."Kylen raised a brow at me.I shook my head, shrugging my shoulder.Everyone's eyes were on me. I wanted to burry my head in embarrassment."Come on, don't be shy!", he patted Kylen's shoulder.Keeping majestic steps towards me, Kylen's smirk deepened. What was going on in his mind?Occupying the seat, he breathed, "What the hell was that?""I don't know.", I mumbled, facing him.The fellow passengers clapped."Bravo Grandpa! You reunited the lovebirds.", a woman shouted,While Kylen and I stared at each other.
