A Love That Never DiesWords: 6786

Ela's POV,My performance soared to the sky. The crowd went gaga!"Once More! Once More!"I climbed down the stage thanking everyone. Going to backstage to my trial room, as soon as I opened the door, a party spray flung open with a burst sound."Woa!", I covered myself with hands in reflex."You go girl!"Kattsy!!She ran towards me with a squeaky scream."Oh mine!", I embraced her with a bear hug."My dearest! I missed youuuuu!""What a surprise! I thought you were gonna bypass my event.", I smiled."See, I'm annoyed because I'm the last person to learn about it. But that's aside, I'm your bff! How could I skip your important day cutie??", she held my cheeks. She helped me change to a black flared gown for the after-party. We talked like we had met after thousand years while freshening up.By the time we got out, everyone was in banquet hall. Kat crossed her arm with mine as we made an entry.I saw my parents seeing me with a cheerful face. They had arrived yesternight.Rick came along."Hey! You were awesome!""Hey, thank you! I'm glad that you showed up."I made mom and dad meet Kat and Rick. We had welcome drinks together while chatting.Dad thanked Kat, "Thank you for looking after our little girl. You are a perfect neighbor we could have ever wished for.""Dad, she's my bestie as well.""And I'm lucky too to have her in my life", Kat passed me a flying kiss."Aww."My eyes silently were scanning to find him. This room has crossed walls in a diamond fashion, making it difficult for me."Whom are you searching for?", mom asked me.Before I could reply,"ELAAA! I need an autography!"All of us turned to see Sam dancing towards us. Kat and I chuckled."Well, this is Sam, my other best friend."Kylen was right behind Sam with his hands tucked in pocket."Isn't he the boy who spoke on stage slapping those fools with his words?", dad asked excitedly.Kat started, "Yes yes! This is Kylen, the most important person-"I nudged her elbow while mom greeted them."So, you two are the crazy boys who kidnapped our Ela."They made guilty yet innocent faces."Hello uncle.", Sam came to give a handshake to dad.Dad just stared at them before walking away with Rick.Kylen wasn't bothered as he has always been a reserved person, he had no issues, but I felt bad for Sam."My husband always dreamt of Ela marrying Shawn. He and Shawn's father had developed a beautiful bond because of them and now it's also broken because of them. He is still recovering. Forgive him.", mom looked down."We totally get it. We are extremely sorry for that.", Kylen replied."Yes, don't worry please.", Sam smiled.Mom continued enjoying with Kat, Kylen and Sam. I excused myself to meet my colleagues and manager. They all loved my dance.I met Kylen's grandma and uncle as well. They were in awe too. We had the super together. Dad didn't talk much but mom went along with everyone. I crossed my arm with dad."Can't you see that your daughter is happy?"He patted my arm with a smile, "You should always be, sweetheart.""Then don't be grumpy.", I pouted."I'm not, dear.", he cupped my face, "I know life doesn't work like we plan."I nodded. Mom was calling him for a photo."Enjoy your night.", he kissed my head.I turned to see Kylen smiling at me with an unflinching gaze. "And Miss Messy is now Miss Star Performer. I like the transition.", he said sipping his drink."Thanks, Kylen. Thanks for everything.""What magic did I do?", he observed me."Ela! Join us."They were calling me for a photo."I'll see you around.", Kylen sighed and disappeared in the crowd.Mom and dad stayed for a week with me. We had a LA tour, spending family time together after ages and had lots of fun.Bidding a bye at the airport, I returned home to see Kat throwing a party. Kat and her obsession with the parties.Man, I haven't rested a bit, the whole week. But I couldn't catch up with my friends, so I gave a thumbs up.It was just the five of us, as usual."Guys, so sorry! I have a date tonight. Wish me luck.", Sam sounded excited."Hey, if it works out between you and your girl, call her to join us next time.", I quoted."Sure.""We can have another fest for that.", Kat chuckled with her drunken voice.Kylen and I shook our heads. It was quater past eleven when Rick carried his sleeping princess in his arms to their apartment."Good night, Rick.""Good night, guys."Kylen and I were remaining."The one who arranged it all, fell asleep first.", I laughed setting up the cushions."Hmm. Peaceful.""Why do you hate Kat?", I raised a brow at him."I don't loathe her. I sometimes find her to be annoying with her over-enthusiastic energy and chatters.""She doesn't fake it though. She has always been like that.", I shrunk my shoulders, facing him.Kylen erased the gap between us, saying, "I love the silence, just like here."My lips separated but no words left as he made his forehead rest on mine. The moments passed...and my wrist watch buzzed saying my heartbeat was high. Dude!I finally dared to speak, but it came out almost as a whisper, "I'm sorry I couldn't appreciate you for what you did the other day, before my performance. I'm grateful that you took a stand for pole dance and me.""Had too.", he replied in low voice."I know you were busy.", he crossed his hand with mine, joining our palms, "This whole freaking week without seeing you made me go bonkers and a lot of realizations hit me."I tilted my head to see my reflection in his dark orbs while our hands were locked, "What sort of realizations were they?"He gulped down a lump in his throat, like he was waging a war with himself currently. "Kylen.", I caressed his face with free hand, "It's okay.""It is not, Nor. You don't get it. You haven't just stolen my breaths and thoughts, you are making me go against every ounce of energy that I had safely collected to stop it from-""Stop it from what?"He shook his head vigorously and dropped our hands. The next second, he was out of my apartment."Kylen!"He ran down the stairs while I got into the elevator.I sprinted behind him, passing through the Glassdoor to the parking basement."Kylen, what's going on?", I shouted."Go back home, Eleanor."I tugged him by catching his hand, "I'm not going anywhere nor letting you go."He shoved my hand forcefully, "Get back inside.""Why?!"His voice stern, "Now."I walked back slowly. This was not the first time that he was behaving rude with me.A tear escaped my eye as I stood waiting for the elevator. A lady too was waiting with me. She silently observed me wiping my face.We got into the lift, and I pressed my floor's button hurriedly. Two hands seperated the elevator doors before they could shut.I saw him walking in with his eyes on me while I looked away."Damn me. Damn the world!", he cursed under his breath.Catching me off-guard, Kylen smacked his lips over mine.Â
