Eleanor's POV,Stepping into Robin's cabin, my manager's smile widened seeing me. This cabin was scenting a wild jasmine. My manager's obsession with scented candles, I breathed lowly. No complaints as he has been kind to me, encouraging me, throughout. One of my colleague-friends say that he stans of my work. The only problem is I can't stand his wife.He has a beautiful wife, and she is bit weird, perhaps little possessive. She hates Robin working with young women. Robin, being least bothered, knows his professional boundaries well. They are just newly married. So, she keeps paying surprise visits to him and I recieve quite a good number of taunts from her."Ms. Eleanor, one of our prestigious-creative minds, is here.", he spined his chair back towards the client.Oh holy. For a split-second I forgot that Shawn was with us. Shawn's back was facing me until he tilted his head following Robin's words. He was stunned or faked it in seeing me.There was absolute silence with the staring game going on between me and Shawn. Robin cleared his throat, "Ela, this is our new client, Mr. Fisher. I'm assigning this project to you. And this one is a priority."Ah. I'm still undone with the pre-wedding video. Sam's interruption today got me off the rails. But that couple has a month remaining for their wedding. I can squeeze this one and complete it off. You can, you can!Wait, what work is Shawn in need of.It was too late to ask Robin, as Shawn and I had exited his cabin, already.Shawn didn't speak a word except thanking Robin before we left. He occupied the chair while I sat opposite to him. He was busy in observing my cabin with a lowkey smile.Glancing his watch, he broke the ice, "I want both of us to be professional. I'm here just as your client."Not he was just wearing formals, he was also talking formals! "As you say.", I broke the eye contact, opening a notepad in my laptop."I want a reel, or kinda short video that precaps her entire life until now of my mom for her upcoming birthday. This video will be played in the hall before she cuts her cake." Well, my reaction was justified. A thunder ripped out over my face hearing, 'my mom'. When did he really started to be a good son to his mom? He loathed her. Shawn was quick in finding my amusement, "People change.", he spurted. Was he talking about his mom or himself? And the video I make will be played there! Though I'm not gonna be with them, atleast my work will reach Aunt."Can you share your domain mail id? I will share the clips and photos I have with me-""Just-", I was gonna say 'whatsapp me' and then his words stroke my mind. Professional."Um. Here you go.", I passed my business card. While he typed, I simply couldn't ignore of how calm Shawn has been. No anger, no hurt, no trace of wickedness. "When can I expect the first draft?", he asked catching my sight."Since Aunt's birthday is almost in a week, I will share the first draft in two days. You can revert back to me anytime and I will do the necessary changes asap.", I blurted out in a breath.Shawn couldn't stop himself from smiling, "That's great."Man, I can't wait to share this all with Kylen. I know he won't give a damn to all of this, but this is super crazy. Kylen knows how to calm me down.Kylen not being bothered by Shawn actually bothers me somewhere deep. Perks of being an overthinker, I suppose.I face-palmed myself in my mind."Check your mail box.", he commanded."Received."It was a zip folder. "Alright. I have a meet scheduled in an hour. I'll leave.", he said moving his chair backwards."Shawn.", my lips froze, calling his name loud.'Yes, baby.', his words echoed in my mind, unrealistically.Though in the present, he stood idle with a blank face.Relaxing my shoulders, "I heard from mom last week, that uncle is bit sick. How is he now?""His health was deteriorating.", he looked down before he smiled, "Don't worry. He will be fine soon."I nodded, "Wishing him a speedy recovery.""If you need any help, don't hesitate from contacting me.", he said before pulling the glass door behind him.I took a long breath.I unzipped the folder and I was not that startled to be honest, when I went through the photos and videos. There were photos of me, my family with them and I had expected it.If there weren't any, probably then I would be more shocked.Memories is a reflection of past, afterall.I looked around shutting the laptop. My head being fuzzy and heavy.Rushing to my home, I wished Kylen to be there. Unfortunately, he wasn't home yet.Having a good shower, I sat in my balcony feeling the gushing winds. I didn't wanted to think more about Shawn or his family. Today was a heavy dose from Sam talking about them to Shawn appearing at my office.I dialed Kylen's number which went straight to voicemail. He never answers my calls. I hate him!I kept moving around my house uptill I eyed at my wall clock needling at eleven. I had spammed Kylen with hundreds of messages and missed calls. Yet there was no reply. In one of the hells of a nightmare, I saw Kylen being shot while my eyes teared up.I snapped my eyes open to end this shit. My breath rapid. Was Kylen in any sort of danger? I texted Sam, straight away, cursing myself for not doing this before.Sam instantly replied, 'He's sleeping in guest house, relax.'Before I could ask, Sam sent another text quenching my question.'His phone is dead. You know him.'I let out a breath of relief, rubbing my face.I had difficulty in sleeping back. I kept tossing, turning and rolling over my bed.It was early morning when my phone buzzed.Kylen. I had received a text from him.'Sorry! I was held up at office, all night! I couldn't find my charger.'My face tensed reading it.Sam said that he was at the guest house, sleeping. Kylen says office, working.I immediately called Kylen, shutting my thoughts. His phone did ring this time, but he didn't answer. The frustration made my heart ache, who is lying and why?!
