A Love That Never DiesWords: 7443

Ela's POV,Didn't care to have a shower or breakfast. I was shufling up with the keys as the anxiety waved at me while locking my house from outside."Ela?"Kat held my trembling hand."Kat, I don't- I don't know. Something doesn't feel right. I-. I need to see Kylen.""Okay. Okay. But I'm not letting you drive in this condition.", Kat paused, a fear passed over her face, "Since when do you have-?"Kat caught me suffering a panic rush today."Ah! It started when I lost my pet dog in an accident. It didn't occur these many years, just once or twice maybe.", I held my head, "But it's not about me, Kattsy!"She snatched the keys from me, while I stared at her headband. She was heading to gym, I assume."Get inside.", she amazingly invited me to my own house."I can't be at peace until I see him!"I recited of my nightmare, followed by Sam's texts and Kylen's texts. "Ela, you are acting out. I'm sure he's fine.", she held my shoulder.Kat was waiting for me to process things by myself."Breathe."Locking my head in my palms, I puffed a long breath. That's when something brew in my mind.Lifting my head, I softly muttered, "You too are concealing something from me. Aren't you?"She passed a giggle, "What? No!"Lies. More lies. She knows something about Kylen. Kat is not normal with me. I nervously tapped the floor with my toes."Sweety, keep your mind at rest atleast for a minute.", she pleaded."Fine. Answer my question, honestly. Only one question.""I don't know about Kylen-""It's about you and me.", my tone made her quiver. She nodded without breaking the eye contact."I have been observing for past couple of days, you have been avoiding me. Why?"As far as I know, Kat is bad at lying. That's when she dodges me!She held her waist, "I want you to be with your boyfriend, okay? And there are some things to clear up with mine."My mouth flung open on her second statement."Yeah. Rick and I are going through a ridge.", Kat's uneasiness was undoubtably seen. The lovebirds I always admire. Sigh."You guys will figure it out.", I rubbed her back.I sat on the dinning chair with my eyes shut, my face lowered. Kat won't let me step out until I'm back to composed me. Not a minute, I felt a finger lifting my chin. "Kat, leave me-", my drowsy voice faded, realizing her finger was never this long and firm.Snapping my eyes open, Kylen stood with a guilty face.A relief swept across me, my heart hosting its own celebration! My eyes moved around. Kat no-where to be found. Her mission accomplished!Shooting a valiant voice, "I knew it. Kat was stopping me, because she knew you were coming! Oh my god, what if she simply made up about Rick and her all along to distract me." He was in a marron sweatshirt and dark jeans. I wanted to thank the whole universe for keeping him safe from whatever was crawling in hell. And also curse every damn thing for him to play with me.Kylen's finger was still caressing my chin. I shoved it away, "Why am I surrounded by liars?!""Nor.", he tried grabbing my hand in vain.I stood away with my arms crossed against my roaring chest."Sammy lied to you. He didn't want to worry you about me working late at the office."He hugged me from behind, resting his chin on my shoulders.Jabbing him with my elbow, I walked away."I know! I should have texted you Nor, but sudden things occurred. Tell me, how should I make it up to you?"He held his ears, appearing in front of me again."Go away.", I hissed, with tears rolling over my cheeks. He rubbed the drops, cupping my face. One glaring hint I gave, he took off his hands from me."I don't need your pity. My eyes kinda tear up when I'm agitated.", I turned, showing my back to him.Pouring cereals into my bowl, I moved to fetch milk from the fridge."Forgive me, Nor!""We are not kids anymore, Kylen.", I kept the milk to boil, "I'm not in mood to talk anymore.""Fine by me! I shall keep stalking you and be blessed to stare at this moonlit face of yours all time then.", he said climbing the kitchen slab. One unique version of a monkey! He had grown silent.I side-eyed him and I was caught by his splendid, rare full  smile. He knows my weakness, he does! My heart melted. Almost. "Fine. Hundred push-ups with me seated on your back.", I twisted my brows. He let out a chuckle and removed his sneakers.Turning off the stove, I saw him moving the sofa aside. Was that necessary for this huge creature? Yes! I sounded stupid inside my mind.He peeped at me, before balancing his position.I sat on his back, with my cheeks still puffed up. I recalled doing this with dad. But I was tiny back then and my dad loved it. Now I'm sure I weighed more with my bone weight considered.Kylen started to thrust up and down. He was the one who was keeping the count as well.Halfway over and he hadn't sweat a drop yet.He made me feel like I was sitting on a throne that was not vulnerable to any sort of earthquakes. That grip and strength his body possessed!"Fifty-two.", his voice turning coarse.I was falling asleep. Woa, I shook my head to stay awake. And we had crossed a hundred already. He didn't stop. Wtf.What is his back made up of? Steel, iron??I continued to enjoy. He wants me to stop him. Now, a smile had replaced my frown. He knew how to win me.I didn't bother about numbers and got down from his back. Stretching my legs over the floor, I saw Kylen collapsing over the floor. Is he on a drama mode or-?Shoot! He had worked all night. And ran to me in early morning. How could I forget that?"Kylen? Are you okay?", I crawled towards his head. He lied motionless."I'm gonna empty a bucket of water on you, if you don't wake up!", I faked my threatening voice. No reply. His eyes still shut.I bent over, reaching his right cheek with my lips. His game was over, or I should say mine was.Because he plunged my hands towards him, in the progress I fell on the floor with a squeak. He hovered over me with his victory smirk of catching his prey.He started again with push-ups, with me below him. His hands caging me.But this time I was jammed between him and the floor. Fitted like a perfect piece of a puzzle under his body.Every time his body lowered, his lips brushed against mine with his muscles contracting."I'm impressed.", I grinned, gripping his shoulders."Your happiness is my earnings, your highness.", his eyes got darker with every passing moment. I gulped down my throat, "Then you have earned a reward for yourself.""I'm listening.", he whispered, teasing my lips with his thumb. "Promise me that you will answer my calls no matter where you are.""I promise.", he kissed the tip of my nose."That you will inform me whenever your phone dies by using someone one's phone or a letter, I don't care.""Yes, you have my promise.", my earlobes were his next target as he pecked them. His phone buzzed over the teapoy beside us."Must be your office.", I muttered.A tensed thunder passed over Kylen's face before his dominating look was back in action. It continued to buzz."Kylen, I think you should pick it up."He sucked my jawline, "Remember what I had said to Sam, a couple of days ago about answering the calls."The words were heart-crypted, his words- 'What do you think? Would I answer your damn call if I was on top of her?'My cheeks flushed, heating up as I felt fragile under his dark captivation."So, we were talking about my reward.""Hmm. You are smart enough to figure out what it is, Mr. Leighton."I looped my legs around his torso as he crashed his lips on mine.
