Kylen's POV,"All good?"I drifted my sight from the phone while Nor approached me, carrying her present.Waffles from her favorite bakery. I just smiled at her, switching off my phone, "Yep."Having a bite, she fed me as well."Can never say no to it. Yummm.""Can never say no to me.", I folded my arms.She literally ignored my words and continued having them. The feeling was precious, a treat for my eyes she is.Something changed quickly as she pressed her lips together, "God, I have no mood to go to office today."She told me about her nightmare of me being shot by someone. I couldn't help but laugh."Don't go.", I shrugged my shoulders, "You said you suffered from a no-sleep yesternight, mail for a sick leave, get back to your bed. As simple as that.""That's not the reason Kylen."She walked ahead, halting at the brim of her hall."Can I make a guess?"She forwarded her hands. "It has something to do with Shawn.", I said tugging her by her arms.She let out a soft chuckle, "Sam."She thinks Sam must have told me?"No. I haven't met Sam in past two days. So, he hasn't told me anything.", I paused, my voice concerned, "Wait. What does Sam know?""Well, Sam had been to my office for lunch yesterday. We had quite a good time. And then, we saw Shawn going into manager's cabin."I let her continue."I don't see anything wrong here.", I remarked after carefully listening to her."Right! That's the thing. Shawn is back to being the old Shawn I-""You loved.", I completed.Nor met my eyes instantly, "How can you be so okay in saying that loud? No sign of feeling bad/jealous/possessive-?"I grinned, caressing her front bangs, "Nor, I'm past all over it. I believe only in the present.""You are way too matured, sometimes. I wish you weren't so understanding!", she muttered under her breath, almost cursing me.I stiffened my smile. I haven't told her about Jenny saying- 'Shawn is still in love with her.'The wanting to tell her everything is eating me. But then Kat's image being a witch appeared in my mind. She would kill me.Not that I care, but a part of my heart believes Kat is right. More than Sam, these days I'm relying on her more.I had buckled my seat, resting my head on the steering wheel, when the passenger door opened."Speak of the devil.", I said peeping from corner of my eyes."How did it go?", she asked with a serious look."It was easy to get back my Nor. I see why Nor loves her company."Where is she now?""Nor left to her office and I thought of meeting you. But then you being stuck in your own drama, I thought of going back home."Kat sighed, "It is freaking tedious of knowing everything. Why do I have to know it?""Rick will understand your situation. I know Nor would be expecting me to be at her place tonight.I was stuck in traffic on the way, when dad called me and there was sudden change of plans.Fk. Fk it!I didn't make a u-turn, upsetting my dad and rushed to Eleanor's place, instead.Luckily, she was home already."Hey!""Hey!""I want to tell you something.", both of us said in chorus."You go first.", I said with my hands  in the pocket."Shawn sent me an invitation to the party.", she said with afraid voice.For first time, I didn't want to hear anything about Shawn. Not now.I breathed turning away, as she continued, "My parents are attending it too. It is in Boston."Looking back at her, I managed to smile, "Do as your heart say, Eleanor. I'm with you in your every decision."She shook her head, "Yeah. Well.", she blinked her eyes, "Your turn."My phone buzzed like an alarm inside the pocket."I will be out of town.", gulping down a lump in my throat, "For a business trip.""I have to head to airport now. Dad is accompanying me."Her smiley face dropped the shine I always crave for. A fear replaced her soft voice, "For how many days?""Fifteen-twenty days. I don't know. It might get extended."Eleanor hated uncertainty and I hated it more than her now.She sat with her mouth covered by her hands."Eleanor.", I kneeled down in front of her, "I know you have many unanswered questions about me. But I want you trust me. Whatever I'm doing is for us.""I'm with you.", her lips curved, "Yet it feels like too much is happening at once."She rested her head over my aching chest.
