Chapter 48: chapter 48

A small recap:Kylen had been to Netherlands and is back to LA. He sees Eleanor and Shawn in airport and heads home. At his place, his grandma insists him to marry Eleanor. Kylen abruptly denies it.____Eleanor's POV,"What is up with you Shawn?", I shoved my hands from his grip.He bowed his head, tears hit the pebbled floor."I'm sorry, Ela.", his voice rang in pain.And I knew it wasn't fake. Shawn might say the worst to you, but he never conceals his feelings.He joined his hands together, sending me to a flashback, where I was pleading him on my knees to marry me, the same way he was today. But he wasn't asking me to marry him today, I'm sure of that. "Ela, I'm here to seek your forgiveness.", he paused, "For what I did. For the words I used against you."Well, I saw this coming. I sighed, holding my head.'I don't care if you have slept with her or not. You have my permission to please her as you wish.'My breath hitched in throat."I know those words sting you now too.", I looked back at him, while he continued, "I badly realised of what I did. I can never take those words back."He sniffed, "Do I get a chance to be forgiven? I'll make it up. I'll do anything.""Get up first.", I exhaled, "Will you please?"The train of past couple of days have been hard on me. Shawn reappearing to Kylen weirding out.He pocketed his palms, waiting for my reply.We walked to an isolated place, near to one of the closed terminals."Let me be clear here, Shawn.", I faced him, "Those words weren't the only reason I broke up with you.""It was because-. Because I waited for you so long thinking you would come back to me one day, and it made me weak and vulnerable! And I hate those spots that weakened me."Shawn shut his eyes with his breath shallow, "I'm sorry. I was so hurt seeing you announce that you were pregnant with Kylen's baby on our wedding night, it got me off the rails."He gazed at me, his eyes dwelling in pain. But that pain was nothing to what I went through."I know. I know! You lied there. You didn't even know who Kylen was. You just wanted to seek a revenge from him."He rubbed the corner of his eyes, "I was dumb.""Well, I forgive you. Okay? Because I don't like things carrying me away. You were wrong, you realised, now all good and we are done here.", I clapped my thighs.These words from my mouth shook him with it's own density.He barely nodded, lowering his sight.I turned to leave,"I still love you Ela!"Not a surprise. People tend to say that after being forgiven.I was a metre away, when he ran back to me while I took out my phone to book a cab.Kylen must have gone home already."I'm being insanely serious. My life's been penalizing me for all sins I did. My own family hates me for what I did to you.""Shawn-.""You're stuck in my mind, my soul. And I really mean it."I crossed my arms against my chest, "What am I supposed to say?""For now, nothing.", he let out a dry chuckle, "You love him. Don't you?""That's none of your business.", I continued to tread, but he kept the pace along me."Fine. One last thing."I stared at him in arrogance, as he blocked my way."I'm gonna wait for you."Ridiculous right there. I heaved a harsh breath while he continued."My sister thinks I'm a crack for not moving on. But, I dont know how many days it's gonna take to gain back your trust.", he neared to me with his eyes hooked onto me, "I'm not giving up on us."I snorted, "Grow up and face the truth."I marched quickly towards the cab line."Tell it to the guy whom you love!""Don't get Kylen inbetween your mess.", I gave a warning smile.Shawn stood beside me.I almost opened the cab's door, when I heard, "I'm aware of something about Kylen. Care to care?""Find someone else to play your mind games.", I was beyond furious."Ela. I don't want to be a villain of your life.", his eyes pleaded."Hate me, munchkin. I don't care. But I'm not the one hunting you down."He had guts to call me munchkin. Right now that was not my concern. Who's hunting me down?"What the hell do you mean Shawn?"He bit his lower lip, "I did a little dig on Kylen."Shawn bent over to whisper, "Apparently, he's a murderer. And you will be included in his list, if you don't stop."I laughed out loud, "Oh. I believe you. I really do."Shawn's frown deepened in the passing second. He had a serious look that could cut the edge of a knife itself.My heart beated out of my chest as I tried processing his words.Kylen murdering someone? He could. It's not like he can't. Kylen was the one who kidnapped me, threatened me, in the first place.  Shawn grabbed by my arms, "I swear to god, I'm not letting him hurt you, Ela."I gulped down a lump, looking into his fierceful eyes. My mind clogged."I have badmouthed you and I'm paying for it.", he cursed his breath, "But I won't let you fall in danger hands."I was still stuck at words of Kylen murdering someone."He must have done it for a deed, for a good cause, if he did.", my voice barely reached out my ears."You wish.", Shawn smirked, catching my trembleness. "Ruin me. Don't get back with me. Fine. Just believe my words for one last time.", his eyes concerned and errupting, yet his voice soft.Nothing but numbness covered me.He backed off tearing apart the eye contact.I sat inside the cab without uttering another word.If Shawn was good in something, it was his ability of convincing.He knocked the side of window.Rolling it down, he spoke, "This is just a percent of the truth. The cat is yet to be out of the damn bag."I tried to keep my face straight throughout the drive, twisting my fingers anxiously. My mind completely clogged.Until Kylen talks to me, I can't confirm his words. Yet Shawn wouldn't dare to be kidding around something that big.
