"Oh my, aren't you just so beautiful." The Queen was softly brushing my hair. During my bath, I was finally able to explain that I was not lost and that my mother works here at the castle.

"Thank you Amber, but not at beautiful as you." I shyly thanked. Earlier the Queen asked me to just call her Amber, but it still feels weird. She said that if she can call me Rosy, I can call her Amber.

"That's very sweet of you Rosy." Just as she said those words, there was a knocking on the door. "Come in!"

"Here is the dress you ordered, my Queen." Madam Bloom came in caring a beautiful white dress with yellow flowers. She still did not seem very pleased with my presence.

"It's wonderful. You will look so pretty in this Rosy!" The Queen jumped up and brought the dress over to me. I had never worn anything this nice. My best dress is the one I was wearing earlier today. It's pink and has a big pink bow in the front. However, looking at the floor where it is laying now, I realize that it's sporting new dirt stains.

Mama is going to be so upset with me. She had worked extra for weeks to save up for that dress last year. She went days without eating, just to save her money for the dress. She did not think I noticed, but I did. She was always making sacrifices for me, and how do I repay her? By tumbling in a rose bush, that she told me not to ruin, and getting dirt all over the dress.

"Oh honey what's wrong? If you do not like it, that is alright. We can find something else for you to wear." The Queens sweet voice broke me away from my thoughts and I realized I had been crying.

"Oh no it's wonderful your majesty. I just realized that I ruined the dress my mama got me. She's gonna be so upset. And then, when she finds out how I ruined she's gonna be mad at me. I hate it when she's mad at me. Oh no! Your gonna be mad at me too." I had just realized that this nice women, who just did so much for me for no reason, is the Queen that owns the garden I just ruined.

"I am sure what ever happened will not make your mother or I, upset. I am also sure that we will be able to give your dress to a maid and they will have it all cleaned before you leave. Also, I do believe I asked you to call me Amber." Her soft smile and kind words, helped me to calm down. "Now I do believe we have some food waiting for us in my sitting room. Let us hurry and put on this new dress, so we can feel up that little tummy of yours."

As we sat down to eat, I was amazed at the amount of food. The most I had ever eaten in one sitting is a bowl of chicken soup. It's the special treat my mother and I eat for Christmas. I was looking in awe at the food when I heard someone clear there throat.

"Do you not appreciate what the Queen has done for you? You are just a gross little brat." Madam Bloom whispered to me with a fake smile on her face. Her rude words make me snap out of my thoughts and I noticed they had already began eating. The Queen was looking at me worriedly, while Madam Bloom looked at me with fake sympathy.

"Are you alright dear?" The Queens bright smile made me push Madam Blooms confusing behavior away.

I gave her a bright smile of my own and stated digging into my food. "Yes. Sorry, I just zoned out for a bit. This is the most food I have ever eaten. Thank you so much! Would it be alright if I saved half of it for my mama?"

"You are a very kind person Rosy. Why don't you eat all that up and I will have something else sent home for you and your mom." The Queens soft smile, dimmed a little. I thanked her, ecstatic that mama will be able to enjoy a meal today too.

We had been eating for a while in silence when the door was thrown open.

"Mother!" The sound of the familiar voice took me by surprise.

I have been looking for Roselyn for hours! It's like she just disappeared. She was not anywhere in the garden, nor the kitchen. I am tired of running everywhere shouting her name. If anyone can help me find her it's my mother. If father knew what I was doing, he would call me weak, but for some reason I needed to find her. I walked into my mothers sitting room, not bothering to knock. She was always here at this time of day.

"Mother!" Just as focused my attention at the tables in the middle of the room, I saw my little Rose. She was wearing a new dress and was now clean. Her hair was now shinning cascading down her back like a chocolate river. I can not believe I finally found her, but why is she with my mother?

"Xavier, that is no way to enter a room! What if the Queen was having a meeting with someone." Madam Bloom stood up, nearly knocking her chair over.

"It's alright Ms. Bloom." My mother waved Madam Bloom off. Madam Bloom was a pain in my behind. Just because she is mine and Xanders governess, she thinks she has some sort of control.

"Why do you have my little Rose?" I questioned my mother before I even realized what I was doing.

"You mean Rosy? We just ran into each other outside and I learned she is one of our lovely cooks daughter. How do you know her?" My mother started off with a happy smile of her face, but as her last question came out, it turned to a suspcious one.

From the corner of my eye I see Roselyn starting to become nervous. Her face twists with worry and she start nibbling on her bottom lip. When she sees me looking at her she quickly looks down. Why is she nervous? Does she think I am mad at her for running away? If anyone should be mad it is her. I was the one who made her feel like it would be ridiculous if she was my princess. I need to set things straight before she does not want to be my friend anymore, if she even still does. My little Rose is the first person I have actually wanted to be around. The only people I talk to are my brother, my mother and father, and Madam Bloom, out of which I only enjoy being with my mother. Xavier's okay, but he is usually too annoying to be around.

"Well Roselyn is my princess." At my decoration everyone's eyes went wide, even my own. I was not expecting to say that, almost as much as they did not expect to hear me say it. Madam Bloom and especially my mother know just how much I hate new people and being around others. There was just something about his little rose that made him feel at peace, which is unlike his usually angry personality.

"When were you gonna tell me you had a princess?" I hear the amusment behind my mothers words. Rose was still just staring wide-eyed at me. Did she not want to be my princess anymore? "And you Rosy, how come you never told my of your connections to my son?"

"I promise I did not know! I had only just met him your majisty. Please don't be mad at me." Roselyn's sparkly eyes began to water. It is obvious from her reaction, that she did not understand my mother was playing with us.

"Oh Rosy!" My mother chuckled. "I was only messing with you. I think you would make a great princess for Xavier." My mother's humor filled eyes turned to me as she said her last sentence.

"You do?" Roselyn questioned my mother.

"Of coarse. You are beautiful, witty, and smart. The perfect qualities every princess should posses." At my mothers words, Roselyn's cheeks turned as red as a tomateo.

"You can not possible think that this little girl could be a good influence on Prince Xavier. He is already too distracted to focus on his duties and chores. The Prince does not need to waste his time with some poor village girl. What would the King think? Xavier is already a troublemaker, what good would a kitchen worker's daughter teach him! He would start stilling things left and right. Oh, what if someone saw them together! The embarressment it would bring-" Madam Bloom's rant was cut off by my mother.

"Do not dare say another word Ms. Bloom. I am Xavier's mother not you. I know what is best for my son. And as for the King, I know more what he would think then you do. Rosy is not some poor village girl. She is a member of our kingdom. The only thing embarressing is your behavior. I do not want my sons' governess teaching my sons this type of behavior. You are excused, I hope you take some time to think about your words and actions today." Unlike Madam Bloom, my mother never once raised her voice as she scolded Madam Bloom. Her words did not need volume, they were powerful enough all on their own. My mother rarly raised her voice, yet she still had the power to command respect.

"I am so sorry Queen Amber." Madam Bloom briskly walked out of the room, leaving us in a awkward silence.

Once Madam Bloom had fully departed and the door was fully shut, Roselyn burst out laughing. I was shocked. Since I had met Roselyn, the full five hours ago, she had been so sensitive. I would never assume that Madam Blooms words and scolding would make her laugh. I turn to my mother and know she is thinking the same thing I am. However, she seems to let it go and appreciate that Madam Blooms words did not get to her.

"What's so funny Rosy?" My mother asked with an amused smile on her face.

"Madam Bloom just got in trouble!" I could tell Roselyn was having a hard time getting her words out, due to her laughter. "And she's not even a kid!"

Soon we were all laughing, but still not as much as Roselyn who was on the floor. Her finding this situation funny, made me happy. I may not have know her long, but seeing her upset hurt. I'm not even sure why, but I know from this moment on, I will do everything I can to make my little Rose happy.
