They still had to walk on foot for another 40 minutes before arriving at the private property of the Li Family.

In the meantime, Mark was getting his wound tended in a car.

Audley, the leader of the Phantom Lord, was talking to his assistant, Arnold.

Andrew, a captain for another division, was holding a crystal wine glass in his hand and was swirling the red liquid in a circular motion. There was a gold-gilded skull batch in front of his chest. He tossed his head back and took a big gulp from the wine. The sticky, bright red wine flowed down his throat and into his stomach, and his blond hair seemed as if it was glowing in the dim light.

He licked at his lips and sneered, “A woman? You’re defeated by a woman? Are you kidding me, Mark?”

“Shut up!” Mark hissed as he glared at Andrew.

Had it not been for her to take him by surprise, how was there any possibility she could defeat him?

“After we seize control of the mountain, you guys can take Li Nanli with you, but you have to leave Gu Yanqi and that woman for me. I’m going to pull her bone out and make it into a toy for Arthur!”

Arthur was a wolfdog kept by Mark and was brutal by nature.

As if the dog understood what Mark had said, it let out a wolfish growl and scratched the blanket beneath it with its sharp claws.

Time passed by minute and second.

Andrew had stopped criticizing Mark. He looked at the watch and said, “It’s time for us to draw in our net.”

He stroked the cross on the side of the skull and said in a gloomy voice, “Amen, the Lord will bless them.”

Mark scoffed lightly. He patted the wolfdog beside him and said, “Let’s go, old buddy, you will get an extra dinner tonight.”

Just when Mark and Andrew were about to get out of the car, a few of their subordinates that were tasked to take the mountain down came back to them.

“What’s wrong? Where’s Li Nanli? Aren’t you guys supposed to be launching your attack by now? Why are you guys coming back?” Andrew asked.

He had no idea why but he could not shake off the bad feelings inside of his heart.

It had been more than 30 minutes, and although the house on top of the mountain was brightly lit, he felt that something was not right.

It was just that the people on top wanted Li Nanli alive, that’s why they’re wasting half an hour here.

It was just that Andrew did not have a good feeling about it when he saw the nervous expression on his subordinates.

His subordinates looked at each other. Since none of them were willing to step forward and tell Andrew everything, the leader of the group stepped up and said, “Erm, Li Nanli, Li Nanli is gone. The subordinate’s body was shaking as he replied, “Y—Yes. We searched through the entire mountain, and we found some footsteps in the minefield at the back of the mountain.”

“How is there any possibility they could leave through the minefield without any equipment?”

“I… I don’t know, but judging from the footsteps, I guess they left through the minefield 30 minutes ago. However, they don’t bring any equipment with them, so I think it would take them a while before they could get out of the mountain. If we go after them now, we still can catch up to them.”

“So what are you still waiting for? Go!” Mark shouted.

“Yes, sir!”

The group of subordinates hurriedly went away. Not far away, Arnold noticed something was not right with their situation. He went up to Andrew and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“It’s Li Nanli,” Andrew said, “They’ve run away through the minefield at the back of the mountain. It’s my fault, I should have…”

“They have run away through the minefield?” Arnold shouted, his voice filled with disbelief.”

‘I don’t remember Li Nanli having any demining expert in his team. Could it be reinforcement from the outside? But how did they get past us without us noticing anything?’

That said, Arnold knew now was not the right time to ponder about this thing. He lifted up his head and ordered, “Mark, Andrew, gather everyone. We’re going after them!”

Andrew licked his lips and said, “What if we accidentally kill Li Nanli?”

“All we have to do now is catch up to them,” Arnold said, “Do you have any idea what would happen to us if we let any of them get away?”

“Yes, sir!” Yu Sheng and the others nodded.

They were walking rapidly at the front, while Fu Zhi was walking slowly at the back.

Gu Yanqi noticed something and he asked, “What’s wrong, Ms. Fu?”

Then, he comforted her, “Don’t worry. After we’ve arrived at Lucky Cloud Pavilion, we will be meeting up with the rest of our team. We will do our best to take care of you, so hurry up. The people from the Phantom Lord will catch up to us if we don’t go faster.”

“But…” Fu Zhi, who could not walk anymore, pointed at the front and said, “Someone is coming.”

“What?”

Everyone was startled and looked over in the direction of Fu Zhi’s finger.

Not far away, there were a few black SUVs slaloming in and out of the forest.

“D*mn it! Why are they so fast?!”

“What should we do, Young Master Gu? Our cars have been destroyed!”

Gu Yanqi dragged Fu Zhi to the side and barked out his order, “Check your guns and your bullets. Everyone, condition red!”

“They are coming!”

“Hurry, hurry! Find cover!”

Everyone was making their preparation as the SUVs were getting nearer and nearer.

Gu Yanqi pressed Fu Zhi into the bushes.

“They are…” She stuck her head out.

“Shut up and keep your head down!” Gu Yanqi shouted as he pressed her head back into the bushes. “Just don’t make any noise!”

Fu Zhi was speechless.

The vice-captain of the Shadow Corp pointed his gun at one of the SUVs.

Fu Zhi stuck her head out and said, “You…”

However, this time, Liu Mi came up and covered her mouth, “I’m sorry, Ms. Fu, but it’s not the right time to talk now.”

Fu Zhi did not know what to say.

She tried to pry Liu Mi’s fingers away from her mouth.

The crowd did not know what to say.

Then, he went to pick Fu Zhi up from the bushes. “Ms. Fu, you should have told us that they are your friends. If you told us earlier, we would have gone into their cars already!”
