Chapter 2: Chapter 2~Meeting Bethany

Falcon’s POV~

This day! I’m already over it! Bertram and Belinda in here first thing…reminding me that girl was coming today. And Bertram demanding I show her who’s Alpha right away because she’s apparently mouthy and likes shit her own way! I can’t stand this man! Thinks he’s entitled to special treatment because he was my father’s beta for two years! Aagghh!

Annalise was brought up shortly after they left..and she is a stunner! Her eyes are gorgeous. Then she compliments mine and I tell her to stop flirting! What the fuck? Brady walks in and sits down. Says “I like that girl! She’s friendly..funny! I had forgotten to ask about dinner attire…so I went with what I would wear at ho…my father’s pack” and smiled again. She almost said home and changed it. Curious!

Just then…a booming voice said “young lady! Your aunt expected you home after your alpha meeting” and she turned her head and said “Ah Bertram! Are you talking to me?” He growled “don’t get smart! You know what will happen!” She looked at me and mouthed ‘I’m sorry’ and turned back to Bertram… she smiled….responding with “I don’t need to GET smart…I’m already there.. and No Bertram…I Don’t know what will happen…enlighten me!” And he jumped up…stomping to where she’s sitting… Brady went to stand but I shook my head.. I want to see how far this fuck will try…He snarled “You ungrateful whore…I agreed to let you live in my home to please my wife…practically begged for sanctuary for you and now you are just going to break your aunt’s heart!” She smiled a sad smile and whispered “I’m sorry, Belinda..I was hoping to avoid this!” Then, she looked at Bertram.. and sneered “You agreed? I have a copy of my father’s books…shall I get them and prove how much it cost him for your ‘agreement’? And if You Ever call me out of my name again… all your food will have to be puréed! I’m not 14 anymore…and if you come near me again, touch me again…I won’t break your wrist…I will rip your fucking arms off and beat you to death with them! Are we clear?” I barked out a laugh and tried to cover it with a cough.. Bertram blustered “I am Beta…bitch..and you will treat me as such!” And she throat punched him! She fucking throat punched him!! Then, she said lowly…” And I Am Alpha! You were warned! Call me bitch again and there’d better be a ‘Queen’ in front of it! Now go crawl back under your rock!” And I laughed! I looked at Brady and said “Yep! She’s funny!” And he laughed!

She walked over to her aunt and said “I really am sorry! I love you…but I cannot abide that man! Daddy paid him to house me..after he had spoken to Falcon about sanctuary! And he’s never going to grab my tits or disrespect me again! I will kill him!”

And Me? I’m just sitting here…appalled that a member of my pack extorted money to take care of one of our own! I look at Brady and say “She really hates your uncle, bro!” And laughed again. She looks up at Brady and says “Your uncle?” He nods and says “yeah…sorry! Don’t hate me!” And she laughs replying “Hate you? Aww big guy! I feel sorry for ya!” And even Belinda laughed! It turned into a good dinner!

After dinner, Anna walked to my office with Brady and me.. I asked if she wanted a glass of wine…which apparently is a sissy juice…because she asked for scotch, instead! I said..”my kinda woman!” She shot it back…grinned…poured another and sat in the chair opposite my desk…sideways…legs dangling over the arm, and asked “How we doing this!? Spanish Inquisition type deal or you just want me to start talking?” Brady laughs and says “I won’t even get to torture you a little bit to get you to squeal like a pig?” She laughs…really laughs..and tells him “you could try!” I really like how confident she is!

I asked her “ Why would your father not want anyone to know about your wolf?” She said “Bethany” That confused me and I asked what? She responds “My wolf is Bethany..and if you think I hate being called out of my name…wait until you meet her! Also she wants to meet Othello…but I gotta warn ya…she’s a bit of a hussy!” And I busted out laughing! No filter this girl! I asked “You avoided my question?” Her eyes got wide and replied “Oh no…I didn’t avoid it…I forgot what you asked.. you’ll find I do that. Just have to hook me and reel me back in…it’s fine! He didn’t not want anyone to know…he just avoided talking about her. She’s the only one of her kind to ever exist…so it’s dangerous for her. It’s why I was trained as an assassin! To protect her!” Brady asks “why is she so special?”’ Anna walked over and poured another scotch…then topped off our glasses. She sat back down….looking me directly in the eye and said “I need to know the two of you won’t betray Beth!” I said. I solemnly vow to maintain your secret on penalty of death. She nods…and says” Let me get it all out and then we can have a little q&a fun!…. Do you know anything about spirit wolves?” We both shook our heads no…and she closed her eyes…her little body shook a bit and with a shimmer…a wolf…the same striking shining blue of the starburst in her eyes…stood beside her. She says “Tell them your story Bethy!”

Bethany walks around the room…greeting Brady then walking over to me. I am awestruck! And then she starts fucking talking! “I am spirit wolf! But I can do things my father couldn’t. My mother was a regular wolf…so AnnaBanana can shift her body into me too! Daddy was only a spirit wolf…but Ajax was such a good father. He taught me to separate without causing any pain! Anna stood up and said “Come Beth!” And just like that…she jumps at Anna…and disappears in a whiff of blue smoke. I said “That is wild! So fucking cool!
