234 Born to be the King
Li Hua brought her hand to his right eye and checked it first, followed by the left one. She pulled away her hand and again checked the pulse. She was relieved to find that Lóng Wei had returned to his stable state. She put her hand down and asked Peng Yuxian if he treated the wound on Lóng Weiâs back.
âYes, Your Highness. The bleeding had stopped earlier,â Peng Yuxian said.
Li Hua nodded and stood up. She turned to face the King and said, âYour Majesty, most of the poison from the blood is out. The rest will come out as His Highness will sweat.â
Qiu Zedong was delighted to hear from Li Hua. His pale face had again brightened upon finding that his son was out of danger.
Xu Zifan was worried about Li Hua because she took the blame on herself.
âMay I ask His Majesty about one more thing?â Li Hua asked.
âYou may inquire,â Qiu Zedong said.
âLet me treat His Highness till he wakes up. I cannot trust his treatment from anyone,â Li Hua stated. Physician Peng understood that it was directed to him. âHis Highnessâ well-wishers are very few. His Highnessâ past mistakes can give a chance to his enemies to harm him,â Li Hua clarified to Qiu Zedong.
âYou are allowed.â Qiu Zedong also did not want to take the risk with his sonâs life. He could put his trust in Li Hua since she succeeded in saving his son.
.....
âThank you, Your Majesty,â Li Hua bowed.
Qiu Zedong decided to leave. As he stood up, Monk Yuze also got up.
âCrown Prince Xiaoming and Prince Mingquan have to reflect on their mistakes. I am still angry with them. Li Hua will be punished once Prince Lóng Wei wakes up,â Qiu Zedong announced. Even though Li Hua saved Lóng Weiâs life, the King didnât forgive her. Because Lóng Weiâs gotten into danger because of Li Hua, he wanted her to realize not to involve Lóng Wei in anything that would put his life in danger.
âThe Crown Prince will be flogged, and so will Prince Mingquan in the evening,â Qiu Zedong affirmed.
Both Xiaoming and Mingquan agreed to take the punishment.
âYour Majesty, letâs not give punishment to the princes,â Monk Yuze defended them. âIn my opinion, they did it out of brotherly love. I donât think Prince Lóng Wei had ever asked anyone in the family for a favor. Letâs not punish anyone this time,â he requested the King.
âI am afraid, but this time I cannot listen to Monk Yuze,â Qiu Zedong said and walked out of the chamber. Eunuch Gao Bing looked at the two princes and assured them that he would pacify the anger of the King. He ran out without wasting any more time while Yuze and others stayed in the chamber.
Once the King left, Li Hua started the remaining treatment on Lóng Wei.
âMonk Yuze always arrives at the right time,â Xiaoming stated.
âIt is because the dragonâs son cannot die without fulfilling his destiny,â Yuze remarked and asked Xiaoming if he could talk with him in private.
Xiaoming agreed and asked him to come to his manor.
âSure,â Yuze said. However, before leaving, Yuze walked up to the bed and looked at Lóng Wei. He looked better than before, and it gave him peace.
Yuze turned and left with Xiaoming to his chamber. Ai Fen decided to help Li Hua and walked ahead, asking her if she wanted something, then she could ask her. Li Hua refused and asked her not to worry.
Xiaoming walked slowly to match Yuzeâs steps and wondered what possibly Yuze wanted to speak to him about.
âThe Crown Prince has changed his outlook towards his youngest brother. I am happy to see that,â Yuze finally said. They had not even reached the Crown Princeâs manor.
âMonk Yuze knows everything,â Xiaoming said, smiling.
âI noticed,â Yuze corrected. âI am glad that he became a well-wisher of Prince Lóng Wei,â he added.
âI have accepted my flaws and also accepted that Brother Lóng Wei is better than me,â Xiaoming asserted.
Yuze stopped by the pillar, and so did Xiaoming. âNo one is around, so we will talk here,â Yuze proclaimed.
âI favored Prince Lóng Wei on numerous occasions. However, it doesnât mean that I thought ill of the other princes. Prince Lóng Wei came to me when he found no one around him to let out his frustrations which made me protect that child,â Yuze stated, with a bright smile on his lips.
âPrince Lóng Weiâs stars were different from the others. Many people are born in the month and year of the Dragon, but not everyone is born to be the king. Prince Lóng Weiâs stars are of a dragon,â Yuze proclaimed.
âIt means that one day, Brother Lóng Wei will become the King,â Xiaoming affirmed.
âHe will rule the vast lands of the kingdom. However, that doesnât mean he can be the King. A dragonâs star means that he will bring an end to the miseries that people face in this vast land of Qiu Kingdom. Now, itâs in the hands of the Crown Prince to decide how to take the prophecy. I believe that he will only remain the well-wisher of Prince Lóng until the very end,â Yuze said, with high hopes for Xiaoming.
âMonk Yuze, I realized it a few days back. I was so wrong about Brother Lóng Wei and even tried to put blame on him for the crime he never committed. I am still guilty of that. Brother Lóng Wei forgave me and for the first time, I found him the most trustworthy person around me.â Xiaoming didnât hesitate to tell Yuze that he was already on Lóng Weiâs side.
âThe Crown Prince must follow his heart this time. Two weeks will soon be over, and he has to marry someone. If thereâs someone he has found for him, then he must marry her before things go wrong,â Yuze advised Xiaoming. He was astonished to hear from Yuze.
âI must go to see His Majesty. Stay around your brother and stay alert. Itâs the most vulnerable time for Lóng Wei,â Yuze said with a sheepish smile and walked ahead.
