Lóng Wei smiled at Xiuying and got on his knees. He rested his arm over his left knee and said, âAs soon as you are released from this prison, you are supposed to give me the key. One important thing: donât oversmart me. So, if I help you, I need your help too. Your lovely son will be punished if you fail to bring the key to me by tomorrow evening.â
âI will not go back on my words. I will surely find the key as long as Prince Lóng Wei saves me,â she assured him.
He smiled at her and stood up. âYou both can continue where you have left,â he stated and walked out of the prison.
Qiu Mu looked at his father, who was on the floor. âWhy did you take his help? Donât you trust me?â He asked.
âI trust my son. I agreed to Lóng Weiâs help because heâs the second person after you, who trusted me,â Xiuying affirmed. Qiu Mu knelt before her and asked her not to worry.
âI will get you out from here. Whoever did this to my mother, I will not spare that person,â he proclaimed and he placed his hand on his motherâs shoulder.

Hei Chengxi and Huang Xi looked at Lóng Wei, who was seated on the chair with left leg above the right one. His left elbow rested on the armrest of the chair, and his chin was above the calloused fist.
âThank you, General Hei, for working in a way that I have told you,â Lóng Wei stated.
.....
âHis Majesty will punish the Prince if he finds out that he was the one who displaced the tassel and asked the man to lie,â Huang Xi said.
âUnless you both donât want to tell the King,â Lóng Wei asserted.
Hei Chengxi asked him why he decided to blame Xiuying.
âBecause it was necessary to show her what she truly is!â Lóng Wei replied. Huang Xi looked at him in bewilderment. He was unable to understand the way in which Lóng Wei was currently working.
âWe have the time till tomorrow morning to find out the real culprit,â Hei Chengxi opined.
âItâs already known. We donât need to make an effort,â Lóng Wei affirmed and smiled.
âThen why didnât His Highness inform the King?â Hei Chengxi asked him.
âBecause I donât want to expose the person this soon. I will do it when I want it to happen,â Lóng Wei asserted. âGeneral Hei Chengxi and his son must leave their residence. Thank you for their hard work,â he stated.
âFather, I will come in a while,â Huang Xi told Chengxi, who nodded at him.
Chengxi bowed and walked out of the room while Huang Xi stayed behind. He took a step forward and sat in one of the chairs around the table.
âWhat is Prince Lóng Wei thinking? Why didnât he tell me beforehand? He called me his friend, yet he hardly shares anything with me,â Huang Xi complained.
Lóng Wei creased his brows and told him not to whine like a child.
âI am not,â Huang Xi stated.
âI didnât feel the necessity to tell you,â Lóng Wei answered.
âThat was a mean reply,â Huang Xi retorted at him.
âA truthful reply,â Lóng Wei corrected him. âGo home,â he said, and stood up to leave the room when Huang Xi caught his arm. He also got up on his feet while Lóng Wei stared at him.
âI will leave after His Highness tells me. How am I supposed to eat or sleep peacefully?â Huang Xi requested.
âThen donât eat or sleep,â Lóng Wei answered.
âI will ask your wife not to love you,â Huang Xi threatened him.
âWhat did you say?â Lóng Wei ended up laughing at him.
Huang Xi confusedly looked at him. âI am serious, Your Highness. Your wife has told me that she will fulfil my wish, whatever it may be. So, His Highness must tell me who the person is,â he demanded the answer while clarifying Lóng Wei.
âGo and tell her,â Lóng Wei stated, and pulled his arm away from his grip.
Huang Xiâs jaw dropped to hear him, and he saw Lóng Wei walking out of the room. âI will surely tell Li Hua, Your Highness,â Huang Xi ended up calling her name. He halted outside the room and turned to glare at Huang Xi.
âYou are no longer my friend,â Lóng Wei said, and turned to leave when Huang Xi ran after him. He tightly held the princeâs arm and apologized to him.
âDonât do this, Prince Lóng Wei. I was merely teasing you,â Huang Xi said while laughing.
âI had warned you not to take out her name,â Lóng Wei muttered.
âForgive me, Your Highness,â Huang Xi said and slowly moved his hand down. âI heard Feng Lao carried the Princess Consort to her chamber. His Highness should not allow him to approach Her Highness. He is still not trustworthy,â Huang Xi asserted.
âWhy do you think he is not trustworthy?â Lóng Wei interrogated him.
âHe might have joined hands with the enemy. If he can stay quiet for two months about the wrong deeds of his father, then he can do anything,â Huang Xi said with a stern tone.
âYou are right. Then, you must keep an eye on him,â Lóng Wei stated.
âI will ask Xu Zifan,â Huang Xi opined.
âNo. People who were once friends canât spy on each other, no matter how much animosity they develop later. Also, Xu Zifan is soft at heart. It is better for you to keep an eye on Feng Lao,â he asserted.
âHowever, I would like to tell you that Feng Lao will not betray Li Hua. So, your spying might not be fruitful,â Lóng Wei stated. Feng Lao and Lóng Wei had one thing in common: their love for Li Hua. Since Li Hua loved Lóng Wei, Feng Lao would respect that to the very end. This was something Lóng Wei had noticed.
âYou should go back,â Lóng Wei told Huang Xi, who bowed before leaving for his residence.
