342 Be Careful, Wife
Li Hua fidgeted with her fingers and wondered if she should go to Tianjieâs chamber to deliever him his motherâs message. After a lot of mental confrontation, she walked ahead and told the servant to inform that she had come to see him.
A minute later, the maidservant came out and allowed Li Hua to go in.
Tianjie bowed his head a little as Li Hua gave him the curtsey and he gestured to her to take a seat. Li Hua thanked him and settled on the floor chair across him around the floor table.
âItâs strange to see that the wife of Brother Lóng Wei came to see me,â Tianjie said and he squinted his eyes.
âI am here to deliver a message of the mother of the Third Prince,â Li Hua informed him. Tianjie was perplexed to hear her and asked her what was it about.
âLady Huan is missing her son. She desires to see the Third Prince. I hope the Third Prince will go and see his mother,â Li Hua said in a polite tone. âThank you for listening,â she stood up bowed.
âPrincess Consort Li Hua, this message you can deliver to me through a servant as well. It was not needed for you to come here,â he said and gazed at her with a grim look on his face.
âSince Lady Huan has asked me personally, so I didnât find it good to send a message through a servant,â Li Hua stated. Tianjie hummed and asked her why she met his mother.
âI encountered her when I went to give prayers to my husbandâs mother,â Li Hua truthfully replied to him. Tianjie was astonished to find that Li Hua went to Concubine Yu Junâs chamber. Li Hua took his leave before he could ask anymore questions and took a deep breath as soon as she came out.
.....
She was scared of Tianjie for some reason. That man never gave her good vibes. She hastened to the manor thinking Lóng Wei would be searching for her. She lifted her long waist skirt a little, and descended the stairs in a hurry. She missed a step and was going to fell when Lóng Wei caught her.
Her hands rested on his shoulders while his hands were on her waist.
âBe careful, Wife,â Lóng Wei said and he picked her up above the ground. Her feet landed on the ground soon as Lóng Wei twirled. Li Hua thanked him when he asked her what she was doing in Tianjieâs manor.
Li Hua told him why she came to see Tianjie.
âFrom next time, you donât need to deliver the messages for someone else. You are not her servant,â Lóng Wei said and held her hand. His fingers laced with hers and they started to walk.
âWhat happened in the court?â Li Hua asked him.
âNothing important. Some political matters are discussed,â Lóng Wei vaguely replied.
âWhere did you roam? I told you stay in the chamber, but you donât listen to me.â Lóng Wei sounded angry.
âI didnât roam anywhere except the side where His Majestyâs concubines reside. Then, I came here to inform the Third Prince. His mother is upset because her son hardly visits her,â Li Hua told him. âDoes the Third Princeâs equation with his mother not good?â Li Hua curiously asked.
âI donât know,â Lóng Wei answered.
âHow is that possible? His Highness knows everything,â Li Hua stated.
âAlas! Your husband does not know about this,â he stated and they stopped in the courtyard of their manor. âAre you hiding something from me?â His brows furrowed.
Li Hua immediately shook her head. âWhat would I hide from His Highness?â
âTianjieâs mother must have told you about my mother. You should tell me because if I find out, then the consequences will not be good,â Lóng Wei stated.
âIs His Highness threatening me?â Li Hua was stunned to see this side of his. âShe told me how she misses your mother. If you donât believe me, then ask Lady Huan,â she said with a stern tone and pulled her hand away from his hold. âDonât follow me.â She ran to her room before Lóng Wei could catch her and closed the doors after her.
âWhat if Lady Huan tell Prince Lóng Wei? He would definitely be suspicious of me,â she mumbled and turned as the door opened. She glared at Lóng Wei and then looked away. She went to the chaise and settled on it. She decided to act well, so that Lóng Wei would not think much.
Lóng Wei sat next to her. âI didnât mean to threaten you,â he said.
Li Hua kept her gaze away from him.
âWould you like to go out with me? A matter has come to my notice and I think we should go there to witness it,â Lóng Wei asserted. âIf I will go alone, then we both will miss each other. Moreover, you will explore that village and feel better,â he opined.
âIs it even possible? I cannot go out of Qinping because His highness wants it. His Majestyâs permission is needed,â she stated and finally looked at him.
âItâs a village almost twenty kilometres away from the capital. We will return within 2-3 days. Of course, my father will let me take you with me,â Lóng Wei confidently said.
Li Hua smiled and agreed to accompany him. He was right. They both would miss each other.
âWhy does Prince Lóng Wei want to go there?â She asked.
âTo solve an important matter,â Lóng Wei replied. âI will explain about it later,â he added.
Li Hua didnât ask anymore questions.
âHowever, we will go as commoners. We may get harmed if someone finds out our identity,â Lóng Wei informed her beforehand.
âThat will be fun. Commoners can mingle with each other easily,â Li Hua said with a broad smile. âWhen will we leave?â
âAfter the Crown Princeâs marriage,â Lóng Wei replied.
âGreat.â Li Hua was super excited to go out. She would be happy to stay away from the palaceâs negativity. She realized she still was far from the truth of the mysterious assassination of her family. She stopped because Lóng Weiâs life would be endangered in it. However, she had no idea if Lóng Wei stopped to search the truth or not.
