484 Donât let Zedong use you [Bonus chapter]
âI do not want to hear any lecture from you,â Lóng Wei coldly said to Su Yichen.
âIt is not a lecture,â Su Yichen clarified. âIt is telling the manners to the Prince,â he added.
âSadly, I didnât take the lessons of manners. So, I donât know about them,â Lóng Wei replied.
âThe Prince didnât get a beating, thatâs why he became like this,â Su Yichen affirmed.
âGood that you realized,â Lóng Wei scoffed at him and told him to leave.
âAll I want to say is that Prince Lóng Wei should not leave his fatherâs side. The person who started this must be punished,â Su Yichen told Lóng Wei and bowed to him before leaving the room.
Lóng Wei chuckled and turned. âAt least listen to my answer, Su Yichen.â He also turned to look at the prince.
âI wonât punish him,â Lóng Wei stated.
âBecause your lord was so scared to start a battle against his own younger brother, then how can I do that? I will die but will not intervene in the matter of two brothers,â Lóng Wei announced. Su Yichen had nothing left to say to the prince. He merely bowed to Lóng Wei and walked out of the door.
.....
Su Yichen went to the kitchen and looked at Qiu Qizhen, who was instructing the chef. Two servants carried the tray and followed Qiu Qizhen, who saw Su Yichen.
Qiu Qizhen asked the servants to go ahead and he came with Su Yichen.
âThe Prince lacks manners,â Su Yichen said.
âI know.â
âMy lord, the Prince isnât ready to help you. He is blaming my lord for no reason,â Su Yichen asserted.
âLóng Wei has numerous reasons to blame me,â Qiu Qizhen replied. âIgnore the childâs mannerisms,â he urged.
âMy Lord, a person is known by his behavior. Prince Lóng Wei doesnât want to help his own father and he blindly trusts Zedong. I cannot understand why Prince Lóng Wei is doing that,â Su Yichen stated.
âHe wants to have a peaceful life. I respect his decision. I never did anything for him in my entire life. Listening to his complaints is all I can do,â Qiu Qizhen said.
Su Yichen opened the umbrella and dropped Qiu Qizhen outside his room.
âHave your dinner and sleep,â Qiu Qizhen told Yichen before going inside.
âI wish my lordâs pain will end too,â Su Yichen whispered and walked away.
Qiu Qizhen watched Lóng Wei, who was looking at the food.
âYou did not start eating,â Qizhen asked as he took his seat around the table. âDid you wait for me?â He asked.
âNo.â Lóng Wei quickly ate a dumpling. âI was waiting for it to get cold,â he said and chewed it. Qizhen smiled a little and picked up the chopsticks.
âGrandmother is dead too. She called me before dying,â Lóng Wei said. He looked into his fatherâs eyes.
âShe said mother had left a message for me. Grandmother even handed me the key, but when I checked the drawer it was empty. Do you know anything about this?â He curiously asked.
âSadly, I do not know about this. However, if it was in the palace, then Zedong might have checked it. The key can be made again,â he asserted.
Lóng Wei frowned to hear it and resumed eating.
Once they finished eating, Lóng Wei told Qizhen that he would leave in the morning.
âSo early?â Qizhen didnât want Lóng Wei to leave.
âI got my answers, so I must return,â Lóng Wei answered. âYou donât need to come to the palace. I will handle the matter in my own way,â he advised Qizhen and picked up the glass of water.
âSo, you donât want me to come there? I thought I must do something good for my son,â Qizhen said with an upset look.
âIt is better for you not to do anything,â Lóng Wei stated. âIf I have to speak the truth, then I will say that I donât want you to die. Live as much as you can. See my growth from afar. I have mentioned this already, but Iâll say once more. I do not want to disappoint my wife for not protecting you.â
The meeting with Qizhen made Lóng Wei realize that he didnât deserve to die. He would not be able to watch his death.
âI understand,â Qizhen replied.
âGive me the last answer. Why did you confidently say that the King was behind the Xu family massacre?â Lóng Wei was desperate to know this.
âZedong found out that Yuze made a prediction for Li Hua. She was chosen by heaven for you. The King didnât want this to happen. As I said earlier too, Zedong wants you to control his way,â Qizhen revealed the truth to Lóng Wei.
âAre you telling the truth?â Lóng Wei didnât want to believe it.
âYes.â
âBut Father also allowed me to marry Li Hua,â Lóng Wei said with confusion.
âI do not know why he allowed it,â Qizhen truthfully said.
âWhy that day? Why not before that day? If Father had to do it, then he got many chances,â Lóng Wei opined and knitted his brows.
âThatâs what confused me. Why did Zedong choose that day? You have to find it yourself,â Qizhen stated.
âDid Father find out that I was behind Li Hua?â Lóng Wei murmured.
âBehind Li Hua?â Qizhen was perplexed to hear him.
âI was locked in the cold palace that time. When I met Li Hua, I decided to pursue her since she saved my life and showed her concern for me. She was not scared of me,â Lóng Wei said with a smile.
Qizhenâs heart clenched at hearing his sonâs words. He suffered so much because of his fatherâs incapabilities. When every child was playing and having fun, Lóng Wei was locked in the four walls of the cold palace. Zedong made Lóng Wei do sin and because of that people hated him.
âLóng Wei, will you fulfill my one wish?â Qizhen asked with eyes full of hope.
âSay it,â Lóng Wei said.
âDonât let Zedong use you anymore,â Qizhen said and extended his hand out. âPromise me, Lóng Wei. You will not let him use you. I will not do anything if you fulfill this wish of mine.â
Lóng Wei nodded his head and placed his hand above Qizhenâs palm. âI promise,â he said.
