A cold glint appeared in Mooseâs eyes as he declared, âItâs not your decision to make!â
Jonathan realized that these people were difficult to get along with and tried to reason with them by saying, âI am merely a passer-by. If you do not wish to welcome us, we will simply leave. It will not cause any harm. Furthermore, your conversation revolved around apprehending a traitor, and no top-
secret information was disclosed. If I depart now, you will not incur any losses. Please do not be aggressive.â
Initially, he had been delighted to encounter fellow humans, but now he realized they were nothing but trouble.
Skylar responded icily, âYou are acting suspiciously and declining to have Mr. Moose read your mind. It is evident that you are hiding something!â After a pause, he ordered the Golden Knight standing beside him, âDucson, capture him alive.â
Ducson, the burly man who had conversed with Skylar in the tent, was the esteemed leader of the Golden Knights and a formidable sword master. Through his diligent cultivation of the Supreme Sectâs divine energy over the years, he was now at the final stage of Nascent Soul.
Naturally, the cultivation stages here were different from the cultivation stages in the boundless universe.
Here, Ducson was a Rank Seven Warrior.
There existed a total of ten ranks. Upon reaching the ninth rank, a Warrior would ascend to the coveted status of a Divine Warrior.
These individuals held tremendous influence and were revered as significant figures in Moranta.
After receiving the order, Ducson immediately pulled out his golden trefoil sword and approached Jonathan.
After ordering Yeverie to step back, Jonathan swiftly put on his Dragon Binding Gloves and let out a cold chuckle. âYou claim to be the Supreme Sect, yet you behave like savages, full of aggression. Itâs no wonder someone has betrayed you.â
His words successfully ignited the anger of Skylar and Moose.
Skylar bellowed, âDucson, what are you waiting for?â He swiftly issued a command to the Golden Knights, âListen up, everyone! Do not allow this man to escape. Capture him alive!â
Skylar and the like couldnât figure out how capable Jonathan was.
They had Jonathan and Yeverie surrounded, so Skylar and Moose werenât afraid that Jonathan would escape.
Ducson, being the leader of the Golden Knights, had the highest level of cultivation and unparalleled skill in swordsmanship among everyone present. With his exceptional abilities, he was the ideal candidate to apprehend Jonathan.
Jonathan snorted inwardly. He knew that he wouldnât stand a chance if they attacked him together.
Nevertheless, the knights adhered steadfastly to the code of chivalry.
Although Yeverie held the rank of a Level One Divine Master, her lack of experience in combat and the absence of a weapon placed her at a significant disadvantage against someone as skilled and capable as Ducson. She stood little chance in a confrontation against him. That was why Jonathan told Yeverie to step back. Yeverie dared not act recklessly and reminded him, âBe careful, Mr. Lawson!â
Naturally, she dared not address him as âYour Majestyâ right this moment. Chaos would ensue if she were to address him that way.
Jonathan and Ducson stood across from each other with only a mere meter separating them.
Ducson had received orders to capture Jonathan alive, and Jonathan, too, intended to do the same.
Suddenly, Ducson let out an ear-splitting roar.
Nonetheless, that was nothing but childâs play to Jonathan. When Ducson launched his attack, Jonathan gathered his Force at his eyes. In a split second, his eyes became as bright as the sun.
At once, Ducson closed his eyes involuntarily. Fear consumed him as he swiftly drew upon his experience, retreating a few steps while brandishing his sword with precision and speed.
The sword slashed across the black sky, dazzling as a shooting star.
Jonathan was as agile as a leopard and as fast as a shooting star. In an instant, he had already arrived before Ducson. When Jonathan stepped into Ducsonâs line of sight, Ducson swung his golden trefoil sword and aimed for Jonathanâs neck.
Jonathan didnât bother avoiding him and stretched out his hand.
Ducson had regained his sight by now. He witnessed Jonathan fearlessly catching his sword with his bare hands. In response, a surge of determination surged through Ducson as he unleashed the full force of his strength, intending to sever Jonathanâs hand in a single decisive strike.
Even if Jonathanâs hand got severed, he would still be alive.
Ducson refused to believe that anyone could catch his sword barehanded, even if Jonathan was adorned with a pair of peculiar gloves.
Crack!
Jonathanâs hands wrapped around Ducsonâs golden trefoil sword.
They both channeled their Force in unison, and the golden trefoil sword cracked.
Jonathan grabbed half of the broken sword and turned it around, aiming it at Ducsonâs throat.
This was the Peach-Offering Monkey move.
Jonathan had executed it flawlessly.
Shock crossed Ducsonâs face as he retreated swiftly, barely avoiding Jonathanâs attack.
Jonathanâs next move grew increasingly mysterious. He threw the tip of the sword out in the blink of an eye.
Whenever Jonathan took action, he employed every conceivable means at his disposal, leaving everyone unable to predict his next move.
The moment Ducson engaged in combat with Jonathan, he swiftly comprehended the true extent of Jonathanâs terrifying abilities.
Left without a choice, Ducson swung what was left of his sword forward to deflect Jonathanâs attack.
At the same time, Jonathan had already pounced toward him like a ferocious wolf. With a powerful strike, Jonathan executed a Heart Seal attack, shattering Ducsonâs formidable assault and inflicting severe damage on his internal organs. He also used the Dragon Claw Grab to grip Ducsonâs throat.
Ducson didnât stand a chance against Jonathan.
Jonathan discerned the peculiarity of Ducsonâs divine energy, noticing that it formed a protective barrier around his body. However, despite its unusual nature, he recognized that divine energy, in the end, was still a form of energy. Using the Heart Seal attack, he injured Ducsonâs organs directly.
Having gained the upper hand, Jonathan swiftly seized Ducson as a hostage and retreated, positioning himself in front of Yeverie once again.
The battle ended so quickly. Before the Golden Knights realized what was going on, Jonathan had already captured their leader, Ducson.
âYou have a death wish!â Skylarâs gaze turned cold as he declared, âRelease Ducson now, or Iâll make sure you pay the price!â
Moose was also glaring at Jonathan icily.
Inwardly, they couldnât help but ponder why such a formidable individual had appeared in the desolate snowy tundra.
They believed his abilities were akin to that of a Divine Warrior, which would account for his effortless defeat of Ducson in the blink of an eye.
Moose, a Rank Seven Magician, found himself in a dilemma as it was not appropriate for him to employ his magic while Jonathan cunningly took cover behind Ducson. He was unable to utilize his magical abilities to attack Jonathan directly in this situation.
Magicians like Moose excelled in both group and individual attacks. Their true strength lay in executing devastating group attacks, which proved to be immensely valuable during battles. However, engaging in close-range combat against Warriors posed a significant challenge for them, as it was not their area of expertise.
Even so, Moose began chanting the Petrification Spell discreetly to turn Jonathan into stone.
The complexity of the spell meant that it would require a considerable amount of time to complete, placing Moose at a disadvantage.
Unaware of the existence of such a spell or that Moose was casting it, Jonathan remained focused on his defense, oblivious to the unfolding magical incantation.
Jonathan fixed his gaze on Skylar. He didnât want to further complicate the situation. Thus, he said politely, âI merely happened to be passing by, and I havenât overheard any confidential information.
Why are you acting aggressively? Is the Supreme Sect truly so domineering that it disregards the voices of ordinary individuals?â
Skylar merely declared frostily, âRelease him!â
He refused to waste his energy talking to Jonathan.
At the same time, Moose finally finished his Petrification Spell.
Jonathan instantly sensed something off. He sensed strange particles hovering in the air around him before swiftly surrounding his legs.
Itâs a Light Magicâs Petrification Spell!
Jonathan felt his legs growing numb. He frowned, knowing something was not right.
Jonathan then felt his limbs growing numb, too.
Without warning, he let out a loud roar and activated his vitality.
The numbing feeling was sent flying, and Jonathan regained his freedom.
Mooseâs Petrification Spell had failed to work on Jonathan!
It was not that Jonathan was immune to magic. It was just that Mooseâs expertise lay more in grand-
scale magical abilities rather than smaller, targeted spells. Furthermore, as a Rank Seven Magician, Mooseâs power was dwarfed by Jonathanâs strength, which rivaled that of a Divine Warrior.
It was indeed laughable to believe that a mere small spell could eliminate someone of Jonathanâs caliber.
Mooseâs face paled visibly.
âRelease him!â Skylar hissed once again as he whipped out his golden trefoil sword. Skylar was no ordinary figure as he held the esteemed position of the Supreme Sectâs Red Cardinal. Despite his young age, he held a prominent position within the sect due to his status as a Divine Warrior. Such a remarkable feat spoke volumes about his exceptional talent and prowess.
Jonathan frowned. Does this b*stard have nothing else to say? His temper flared, and he responded coldly, âDo you think Iâm a fool? If I release him, youâll attack me all at once. I wonât release him!â
Skylarâs eyes transformed into icy blocks, reflecting his inner turmoil. Known for his volatile nature, he teetered on the brink of losing control.
Jonathanâs heart filled with apprehension, as he feared that Skylar might opt to take his life. If that were to happen, he realized there would be no possible way to salvage the situation.
Fortunately, Moose stopped Skylar in time. As they werenât enemies, he knew there was no need to escalate the situation to irreparable levels. Moreover, with Ducson serving as the leader of the Golden Knights, the other knights would lose confidence in Skylarâs leadership if Ducson died in Jonathanâs hands. It would signify Skylarâs lack of regard for his comradesâ lives.
âWe should have a civil discussion!â Moose reminded Skylar in a low voice.
Despite his reckless nature, Skylar wasnât a brute. He took a deep breath and calmed down.
Jonathanâs tension eased slightly as he reiterated his stance, âAs Iâve mentioned before, I donât know any of you and have not overheard any top secrets. If you consent to let us leave, I will release him.
This is a reasonable request, isnât it?â
Indeed, that was a reasonable request.
In truth, if Skylar and Moose chose to let Jonathan and Yeverie depart without further resistance, it would showcase their magnanimity.
However, the current turn of events, with Jonathan emerging victorious, made it difficult for them to concede. Permitting Jonathan to leave now would be an admission of defeat, an act that clashed with their sense of pride.
Pride held significant importance to them, and as a young Red Cardinal, Skylar sought to uphold his pride in front of his subordinates.
