"BABE, JUST HOLD HIM."
"No."
"He's not going to self-destruct if you touch him."
"No, but I might."
Samuel rolled his eyes at his boyfriend's stubbornness, cuddling little Max to his chest. "Come on, Oliva trusts you. Right, Liv?"
"Yeah," Olivia muttered absentmindedly as her eyebrows furrowed, trying to figure out how to properly braid Nymphadora's hair. Both Charlie Weasley and Luacas are watching with wide eyes, waiting for the turn Olivia promised them.
"I don't think that means much considering she's letting Sirius put her daughter on a broom," Remus says, making Olivia look up so fast, she's sure she heard a snap.
"What?!" Olivia exclaimed, and sure enough, she saw Sirius on a broom hovering more or less than five feet above ground, Mari happily giggling on his lap. "Sirius Orion fucking Black! If you don't put my daughter down, I will fucking skin you alive!"
"James," Olivia called to the man chatting with Kat and Lily. "Figure out how to braid their hair, I'm gonna go save our child from your true love."
"Oi, Pads!" James called wrapping an arm around Olivia's waist to stop her march to Sirius' direction. "Put Mari down, won't you?"
"But she's having fun!"
"She won't be having any fun at all if she falls and breaks her fragile, little bones!" Olivia screamed back.
Even from afar, Olivia could see Sirius rolling his eyes as he slowly descended. "Fine."
"And you." James then faced Olivia, giving her that god fucking smile. "I thought we talked about letting our friends handle the twins for a little bit so we can relax?"
Olivia heaved a sigh. "I can't really relax when my daughter is hovering five feet on air."
"You know he doesn't mean harm," James calmly explained.
"I know. That doesn't stop me from worrying."
"Stop worrying, Liv," Lily butts in, still in her work clothes but having dumped her sweatshirt already. "I'll take Mari from idiot 2 over there."
Olivia let out a sigh of relief. "Yes, please. Thank you, Lils."
Lily gave her a wide smile, like a preschooler getting a star from her teacher. "Of course."
"Okay, now, will you calm down?" James said, gently pushing her back onto her inclined seat where the three children are patiently talking among themselves.
"Fine, but keep my kids off brooms," she muttered. Lily took Mari from Sirius. Max is happily giggling while being cuddled by his uncle and so Olivia allowed herself to relax.
She stared at Nymphadora's hair, realizing she still had no clue how to properly braid a kid's hair. Having enough, she muttered a spell under her breath and Dora's hair braided on it's own. She did the same for Lucas and Charlie, finally getting the kids off of her.
It was then that the Potter's house elf, Winnie, appeared with Regulus hesitantly following behind her. A smile broke onto Olivia's face as she threw her arm around the man.
Regulus hugged her just as hard. With what they went through, it's impossible not for them to be as close. Olivia trusts Regulus more than she does anyone, perhaps even more than James. She considers Regulus a brother just as much as she does Samuel.
"Are you sure I should be here?" He asked quietly, feeling everyone's stare boring into his back, his brother's being the most obvious.
"Of course," Olivia didn't hesitate to answer. "I want you to meet Mari and Max. If any of them have a problem with that, they can take it up to me."
"Oi, Reggie!" Samuel called, handing Max to Kat so he can pull the younger boy to his chest. "Good that you came. I was about to drag you out here myself."
Regulus rolled his eyes but nevertheless, hugged him back.
"Hey," James greeted, a big smile as he faced the younger Black. "I just want to say thank you."
Regulus' eyes darted to Olivia, obviously in slight panic over the fact that his estranged brother's best friend is talking to him. "Uh... yeah, don't mention it."
"No," James says, pulling the boy into a hug. "I have my family because of you."
Olivia almost wanted to laugh with how awkward Regulus feels, hands hanging on his side as James basically crushed him.
"I really hope that's the last hug I'll be receiving or I'm walking out of here," Regulus muttered once James finally released him, eyes straying to where Sirius is sitting on the grass with Lily and Mari.
"Oh but according to these pictures," Samuel teases, bringing out the polaroids from his pocket, the same polaroid displayed in Regulus and Maxwell's cabin. "You don't mind hugs at all."
"You had the time to steal that?" Regulus deadpanned, attempting to snatch the photos.
"Yes," Samuel said smugly. "And I'm keeping it as blackmail."
Remus, creeping up from behind him, snatched the photos right up, handing it to Regulus. "You know, Sammy, for someone three years older than the rest of us, you sure have the maturity of a three year old."
Samuel pouted. "You're a boring boyfriend."
"And you're a pain in the ass. Get over it." Remus smiled at Regulus, handing him a drink. "Next time he bothers you, tell me. Someone might be sleeping on the couch tonight."
"Make sure don't let Lucas see those," Olivia told them as
Regulus smiled awkwardly, watching Remus drag Samuel away before once again facing James and Olivia. "Okay, why did you two invite me here? Not to be a party pooper, but Sirius and I aren't exactly on speaking terms. You're just making your get together awkward."
"Stop whining," Olivia said, rolling her eyes as she looped her arm around Regulus'. "And no, I did not just invite you here for funsies. We actually have an announcement that has something to do with you."
"Oi, idiots!" James called, making everyone turn to them. "Give me my kids."
"You're the one to talk, Potter," Lily said, handing Mari to him as Kat did with Max. "You're the biggest idiot here."
"Words hurt, Lilipad."
"Lucas, come here, monkey," Olivia called, placing her hand on the boy's shoulder. "Okay so now, we're complete, except Wormy but God knows where he is."
"Get on with it already," Samuel said, sitting on Remus' lap. "We're hungry."
"Shut up, Samuel, you weren't even invited."
"I'm your brother!"
"Exactly and this is about my kids' godparents."
"Wait!" Sirius exclaimed, his face instantly lighting up. "I've been waiting for this one."
"Shut up, Pads," James said. "We also just found out Lucas don't have godparents and there's nine of you except Sammy."
"Okay so we're all going to be godparents, cool," Sirius said again. "Now tell me which kid I get to spoil rotten."
Olivia ignores him. "Mari's godparents, we decided, are Kat and Lily."
"I knew it!" Lily cheered, ripping Mari out of James' hand. "This baby is mine."
"Ours, actually," Kat said, lightly pinching Mari's rosy cheeks.
"Mine, actually," Olivia corrected before facing Sirius' expecting face. "Don't pee your pants, Sirius."
"Just tell me which kid is mine."
"Let's get one thing straight here, alright," Olivia said. "They're not your kids. They're still my kids."
"Yeah, yeah, we know," Sirius interrupted. "Now tell me which one's my kid."
"We decided," James continued. "For Lucas, we chose Remus and Peter."
With that, Lucas ran to Remus, wrapping his arms around the werewolf.
"Okay so I get Maxi right?!" Sirius cheered, taking the baby from James, causing a bunch of giggles to fall from the infant's lips. "We're going to have so much fun together."
"Calm down, Sirius," Olivia says, calmly this time, knowing the next words she's about to say will dig up a few unresolved issues. "Regulus is Max's godfather too."
At that, everyone became quiet and Sirius' laughter disappeared.
Regulus let out a sigh. "Look, Liv-"
"I trust you both, okay?" Olivia interrupted before Regulus could say anything else. "I trust all of you more than I do anyone. I trust you all so much that I'm entrusting you with my children. You're my family."
Regulus let out another sigh, burying his hand in his sweater's pockets. "Why me?"
"He's named after Maxwell," Olivia started. "And when he grows up, I want him to know who Maxwell is. I want him to know about how brave and fucking awesome his uncle was."
"Stop that," Regulus groaned. "You're using Maxwell against me."
Olivia ignored him. "And I want you to be the one to tell him that. Because no one knows Maxwell better than you, Reg."
"Fine, fine," Regulus breathed out. "I'll be the kid's godfather."
"Yay!" Olivia cheered, jumping into Regulus' arms.
"I thought we talked about no more hugs."

"OLIVIA," SAMUEL CALLED AS SHE went to the kitchen to get more drinks.
"Please don't tell me you're gonna keep whining about not being godfather. You're my brother, Sam. I didn't think you'd need a legal title to know how much I trust you with my kids."
"That's not what I was gonna say," Samuel said. "Though we will talk about that later on."
"What were you gonna say?"
Samuel looked around, making sure no one's around to hear their conversation, lowering his voice. "I wanted to talk about the Order."
"No."
"Olivia, you need protection," Samuel insisted.
"I don't want any part of it, okay?" She told him harshly. "I don't want to be a prophecy child or Voldemort's daughter or the heir of Slytherin. I just want to be a mum to my kids."
"Think, okay? Just think!" He said, voice raising as he faced his baby sister. "Do you honestly think he would just leave you alone? You and Mac and Mari? You're not the only heir around anymore, Olivia. The prophecy could be talking about one of them now."
The pitcher slipped from Olivia's grip, shattering to the floor as she realized what he meant. "That's not possible. The prophecy is talking about someone born at the end of the final month."
"And your birthday is in November! The prophecy may not be talking about you or Max and Mari, but how are you sure it's not going to be one of your future children? Your children's children?"
"Stop."
"No, you have to hear this," Samuel said. "You don't seem to realize, Olivia, that every child you have is going to be an heir of Slytherin."
"Samuel, stop!"
"You may not be the prophecy child but you're fooling yourself if you think all of this won't end up biting you in the ass."
"Then we'll hide!"
"Do you honestly think that will stop him?" Samuel asked incredulously, as if Olivia had just said the most ridiculous thing in the world. "He will not let you go, Olivia, and you're an idiot if you think he will."
