The tension in the air was intense and the leader was afraid that a fight would break out soon, but Han just looked away with a huff.
âWhatever. Just tell me exactly what you want, I donât have all day and I have to move to higher floorsâ
There were a lot of murmurs from everyone in the crowd and people began to wonder if Han had gone mad.
âDoes he not know?â
âNo one has ever come back from up there alive. Look at what happened to our vice-captainâ
Han heard what they were saying and looked to the leader for clarification. He didnât have time to start deciphering their rubbish.
âYou must not have heard about how dangerous those floors are. The floors above floor fifty are impossible for gold Stars to handle no matter how many of us band together. It is something that we have tried multiple times and we have failed every single timeâ
Han was a bit surprised. So it wasnât like no one has tried to go higher before. It was just that people always died when they tried to go higher. Was it that the portal was impossible to pass? Or was there something killing them whenever they tried to go higher?
âIf you are saying it with that kind of pained expression that means you have tried to do it before. You even joined hands with the red arrow guild before and it still didnât work. But you still havenât told me what exactly you want from me.â
The leader took a deep breath. This was the moment of truth.
âWe heard that you are something more than a gold Star as well as the leader of two major guilds. We wish for you to join forces with -â
Han cut him off before he could finish by just telling him NO. The leaderâs eyes widened in shock. What?
âI said no. What donât you understand about that?â
âBut we can share all responsibilities between our guilds! There will be no form of deceit and the right to what we gain will be shared equally!â
Han chuckled. That was the exact problem.
âYou people donât get it. I came here to hear you out and I have but donât even for one second consider yourselves to be my equals. Ever since the beginning, Iâve been fighting monsters that you havenât even dreamt of before. So let me tell you how this is going to go. Youâre going to call off this meeting and Iâm going to have a conversation with you in private right nowâ
Han began to walk away from the meeting and the people there were reluctant to form a path for him to pass through. Some of them even looked like they wanted to fight him! Han looked at them with red eyes and his bloodlust spiked.
âStop! Just⦠Stop!â
The leader shouted out to Han as he came down from the platform where the thrones were. He then told the people to form a path for him and Han to pass through. They were reluctant to do so.
âWhat if he suddenly attacks you!?â
One of the men there shouted with a glare. Han scoffed. Like he would need some stupid trick like that to kill people. The leader commanded them to just make the path and the people finally relented. They both walked away from the crowd of people and the leader took Han towards a cluster of mountains in distance. They had to both fly up to the top of a mountain and then Han was led into a cave on the mountainside.
The White Rose Guild had carved a room into this cave and Han was surprised by how well made it was. There was a large emblem of a white rose within a circle on the floor and a table in the middle of the room with many papers strewn about. Han traced his hand across the table and saw many plans for expeditions to the upper floors there. Many of them had large red slashes on them to show that they failed and some of them were still being drawn out.
Damn, theyâve been trapped here for centuries.
âSo tell me, Han Luo. What is it that you wanted to talk to me about?â
Han turned to see that the leader had gotten rid of his outer coat. He was standing to one side of the room with his hand folded across his chest.
âBefore that. How long have you been alive exactly? I never got down to asking that questionâ
The leader nodded in understanding.
âYes, a lot of people donât understand it at the beginning. We do not age in the Temple. A day, a year, a million years. We will remain the same as the day we came in here. And even outside of the Temple we age far slower than others. The time between when we got our powers and when we die could be ten thousand years or even moreâ
Han huffed. Wow. Doesnât that mean he is still twenty-six? Ha! Rina would be so pissed if she finds out she canât celebrate birthdays anymore! I better not tell her. Wait, but this is just like what happened with Yueâs system. Once she got her powers, she immediately stopped aging. Doesnât that mean that the glitch in her system was what caused it? Itâs possible that when we get out of here, she would be able to age again. It was something Han would ask Yuuma later. For now, he had to get down to business.
âHan Luo. Why exactly are you against joining hands with our guild? I can assure you that there will be only benefits to thatâ
âWhy are you asking me to join you now? Trinata and Rivera have always existed. Why didnât you ask them before?â
âWe did. But they always refused usâ
Trinata and Rivera have been under the thumb of the Alcatraz guild for a long time now and they have never had permission to join forces with the other top guilds. Alcatraz knew that if they allowed Trinata and Rivera to go on such a mission then the White Rose would figure out what they have been up to. It was a tactic for self-preservation.
But now that Han was the leader of these two guilds then White rose saw another chance to finally have more people doing them. They just wanted to get into the fifty-first floor! It was too selfish to ask for more than that right now so they would be more than happy just being on the next floor.
But Han still refused the request, and the leader of the white Rose guild began to get angry? There was no reason for Han to not side with them! Han told the leader that he would not be forming a pact with any guild.
âIf there is going to be any form of contract between us, it will be the contract of submissionâ
The leaderâs eyes widened before he immediately threw out a heavy load of bloodlust! Who did this Han think he was!? He was just going to come here and try to take over their guild!?
Some of the people who were waiting on the ground suddenly grew suspicious once their leaderâs bloodlust spiked. Were they fighting up there? They knew that the leader told them to stay put, but shouldnât they at least check up on their leader?
But then Hanâs bloodlust spiked, and they immediately took large steps away from the rock formation! What the hell was going on up there? They couldnât even think of going there anymore!
Han still had a smile on his face as he looked down at the kneeling man in front of him. The leader was finding it hard to breathe because of Hanâs bloodlust!
Han came here and he didnât even show a bit of hostility and this man just throws bloodlust out like an idiot. Do you think your desire for blood surpasses my own? Youâre lucky Iâm not just burning your entire guild to the ground right now!
Han suppressed his bloodlust and turned away from the man. He didnât need to use force. Han knew that he might have been a bit rash with his wordings. Maybe he should explain what he really wanted to do with their guild.
And so Han began to explain things to the leader. From the whole concept of what Han understood about the Temple and the Celestials to what he wanted to use all the guilds for. Han didnât just want to collect these guilds because he was seeking power for pleasure. He needed them for something bigger than anything the leader could understand.
âI donât want to force you into this. But if I have to then I will. Your guild wonât even have that many changes at all, you will still be the leader and you all can still join forces with the Trinata and Rivera guilds to move higher if you want, but I just need you to sign that contract with meâ
