Chapter 16
Imperial Capital.
Old Mr. Fisher lay on the lounge chair, admiring the scenery in the yard, when his assistant hurriedly walked in and handed him an iPad.
âMr. Fisher, this is the latest news involving young Mrs. Fisher at Barson Groupâ
âOh? Is it Robertâs new wife? What happened to her?â The old man, upon hearing it involved his granddaughterâinâlaw, put on his glasses and took the iPad from his assistant, looking at it intently.
âBarson Group has already taken down the video, but I managed to retrieve it. The public opinion online regarding young Mrs. Fisher is very unfavorable. Should we intervene?â the assistant asked.
âOutrageous! These people have no shame!â
After watching the video, Old Mr. Fisher slammed the armrest of his chair heavily. He hadnât expected his granddaughterâinâlawâs family to be so malicious.
âCall Anna.â
Anna had just finished a meeting when she saw her fatherâinâlawâs call and quickly answered.
Over the years, her fatherâinâlaw had treated her like his own daughter.
âFather, whatâs the matter?â
âAnna, Robertâs new wife, the girl named Elisa Sammers, is that right?â
Anna was a bit surprised by her fatherâinâlawâs question. She had shown Old Mr. Fisher Robert and Elisaâs marriage certificate when she returned. She didnât understand why he suddenly asked this.
âYes, Father. Is something wrong?â
âNo, nothing. Iâm going to New York. Old Mr. Fisherâs sudden announcement surprised both his assistant and Anna.
âDad, why are you going there?â
âI really want to see Robert. Itâs been six months since I last saw him. I donât know how heâs doing.â
âIf you want to go, Iâll arrange a private jet to pick you up tomorrow,â
you, dear!â
âAlright, thank you,
While he genuinely wanted to see his grandson, what was more important was to stand by his granddaughterâinâlaw, Elisa!
âDr. Smith, may I ask what this is?â

That evening, Elisa returned to the nursing home, and there was an additional camera by the bedside.
Then she saw Dr. Smith.
âToday I noticed some reactions in Robertâs brain waves, so I wanted to record them with the camera. It wonât disturb you, will it?â
âI donât mind, no problem. Elisa immediately replied.
âDr. Smith, what did you mean when you said that Robertâs brain waves responded? Is he about to wake up?â
Smith looked at the person in the bed, she knew Robert now paid attention to everything they were talking about.
âWell, there is a possibility.â Smith ambiguously replied.
âReally?â Elisaâs tone was full of excitement, she could hardly hide it.
âAre you really happy to know that Robert could wake up at any moment?â Smith asked, surprised by the
young womanâs reaction.
âYes, and I hope he wakes up today! Or tomorrow, in other words, as soon as possible. She replied, knowing that when Robert woke up, she didnât have to be pregnant with his child because he definitely wasnât willing to have children with her.
If Robert doesnât want to, and Mrs. Fischer wonât ignore her mother because of that, then she would be free again and by her motherâs side.
âMr. Robert, he will definitely wake up. Dr. Smith stared at Robert again, and deep down, she hoped that the heartless man lying in bed had heard how much she wanted him to wake up, even though she was such a innocent girl, she still thought of Robert with all her heart.
Elisabeth also looked at Robert and sighed lightly, she begged him to wake up before she had to get pregnant with his child because if that happened after she was already pregnant, it would be very tragic.
âIf only I could know when he will wake up. Elisa almost whispered.
Dr. Smith thought to herself: If you work harder tonight, your dream will come true! If only you were pregnant with his baby, that would be wonderful!
However, she looked at the camera and was speechless again, after all, Robert instructed that Elisa wouldnât know that he was awake for now, and she still didnât know what Fischerâs plan was exactly and where he wanted to go.
âDr. Smith, I⦠Elisa started, then paused midway, feeling too embarrassed to continue. Dr. Smith patiently waited for her to speak.
âI think my ovulation period is around now⦠What are the chances of getting pregnant on the wedding night?â She gritted her teeth and asked, while Dr. Smith suppressed a smile.
âItâs not guaranteed, but there is a chance.â the doctor replied, noticing that Elisaâs face was as red as a boiled shrimp.
âSo rest early, and I wonât bother you anymore today. With that, the doctor immediately left, leaving only

Robert and Elisa in that enormous room.
Elisa pulled up a chair and sat next to Robert, unaware that the man beside her was fully awake.
Robert felt his headache subside, probably due to the medication. In short, this was the only moment he felt comfortable since waking up.
Was Smith crazy? Didnât she hear what that woman just said? She couldnât wait to conceive his child!
How innocent could a woman like that be?
âDr. Smith said your brain waves are responding, so that means youâre reacting to something in the outside world?â Elisa murmured to herself.
Her voice was like a babbling brook entering Robertâs ears, and he felt enveloped in warmth.
The pain in his head disappeared without a trace!
It must have taken three injections to reach the maximum dosage before it worked,
âCan you hear what Iâm saying?â Elisa said again, slowly leaning towards Fisher. The girlâs soft hair inadvertently fell on his neck, and his hands suddenly clenched into fists.
What was she going to do?! Would a camera not stop her? How shameless!
Suddenly, Elisa leaned back, and Robert slowly released his grip. He had almost opened his eyes but refrained. Elisaâs soft hands began to caress his face, her fingers reaching his temples and gently massaging
them.
Elisa lightly rubbed his temples, her touch gentle yet firm, like a boneless hand, soft yet full of strengthâ¦
âI heard that giving comatose patients a lot of stimulation, talking to them more, can help them wake up. Iâm not a professional, and 1 donât know what to do exactly. Let me give you a massage.â
Elisa spoke, unaware that Robert didnât like physical contact with others. But at this moment, he couldnât
refuse.
âMr. Robert, your eyelashes are so beautiful, so fine and long, like a piece of art. Theyâre the most beautiful eyelashes Iâve ever seen.â Elisa carefully stared at his sleeping face, admiring it closely.
Robert felt offended, was she massaging him? She was simply taking advantage of the opportunity to provoke him!
The only reason he didnât attack was because he didnât want this woman to know that he was awake.
He still wanted to see how bold she was in doing anything to him!
âRobert, Iâm going to take a shower,â she said casually, and then went to get her pajamas.
