Dear reader,
I wrote these poems because, for so long, I felt like I wasn't allowed to exist fully, like my worth was diminished simply because I didn't fit the mold that society and even my own family had created for me. Transitioning, finding my truth, and finally understanding who I am has been a painful yet beautiful journey, and through it all, I've come to realize that my life, my voice, and my identity have value. I wrote these poems for those who feel misunderstood, for those who feel different or invisible, for the ones who are afraid to grow up because they fear they won't be accepted as they are. I want them to know that their lives are worth so much more than the hate or silence they may encounter along the way. For every tear shed, for every person who has ever been rejected or left behind because of their truth, these poems are for you. These words are for those who have been told they don't belong, for those who feel like they're too much or not enough. To every trans person, every LGBTQ individual, and anyone who feels like they don't fit into the world that's been built for someone else: your existence matters. You are worth every bit of the struggle, the pain, and the beauty that comes with being unapologetically yourself. We are here, we belong, and we deserve to grow, to love, to live freely. And in sharing these poems, I hope others find comfort, strength, and the courage to continue on their own pathsâknowing that they are not alone, that they too are worthy, and that their story matters.
Thank you for picking up this book. Before you dive into these words, I ask you to take a moment to ground yourself. Breathe deeply. Clear your mind. Let go of the noise, the expectations, and the weight of the world. Allow yourself to truly feel each word, to connect with each line. In this space, take a breath and remember that you are here, and you are enough.
With love,
L
