Every time I look in the mirror,

I see their reflection—

Their judgment,

Their confusion,

Their discomfort.

I see their eyes,

And I wonder if they see me,

The me who has always been here,

The one they cannot understand.

But I don't look away.

I keep my gaze steady,

Even as their reflections fade

And my own begins to grow clearer
