Charlotte carefully sensed her body and didnât feel any stickiness, so it seemed
that Joe had already cleaned her upâ¦
Thinking about the absurdity of last night, Charlotte wished she could bury
herself so no one would ever dig her out.
Knock, knock, knock.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Charlotte quickly tidied herself up and
opened the door.
As expected, it was Ben and Anna outside.
The two little ones saw Charlotte opening the door and immediately asked with
concern, âMom, is your body feeling better?â
âMy body?â
Charlotte was puzzled and looked at them with confusion.
Ben nodded solemnly and said, âDad told us not to disturb you because you
werenât feeling well.â
His eyes were filled with concern, âIs your body better now?â
Charlotte froze, cursing Joe a hundred times in her heart.
She forced a smile and kindly said to the two of them, âMomâs feeling much
better now, so you donât need to worry.â
Ben and Anna breathed a sigh of relief.
Just when Charlotte was touched by her childrenâs filial piety, Ben and Anna
handed her a contract.
âNow that youâre better, weâre ready to go.â
âHuh?â Charlotte took the contract from them, looking astonished at the content
with wide eyes.
She was shocked as she inquired of the two kids, âWhen did I sign this?â
What Ben and Anna held in their hands, more than a contract, resembled a pledge. It promised to take Ben and Anna on a three-month trip, with the
destination to be determined by them.
Most unbelievably, she had even signed and put her fingerprint on the contract.
âWhen did I sign this agreement?â Charlotte looked at Ben and Anna with
suspicion.
If she hadnât been certain that the signature was hers, she would have suspected
they had forged the agreement together.
âIt was last night,â Ben and Anna said confidently, âWe went through it with you
line by line, and you agreed to everything!â
Charlotte couldnât help but laugh in exasperation.
Whether she went through it line by line or not, she had no judgment at that time!
These two kids were becoming quite cunning, knowing to make her sign such an
unequal contract when she was drunk.
But she also understood in her heart that her amnesia this time had really
frightened the two children, which was why they deliberately used this method to
try and get closer to her.
Charlotte gently touched their heads. âIâll agree this time, but you canât use these
methods to make others agree to your requests next time. Understand?â
Ben and Anna lowered their heads in silence, earnestly replying to Charlotte, âWe
understand.â
âIn that case, where would you like to go now?â Charlotte asked with a warm
smile.
âThe Antarctic!â
Ben and Anna had obviously thought of the answer long before Charlotte asked,
and the words slipped out of their mouths.
âWe canât depart today, though. The Antarctic isnât a place you can reach by just
taking a planeâ¦â When Ben showed her three boat tickets, Charlotteâs words werenât even finished.
The tickets were booked last night.
