"what do to with her, princess?"
Kaya woke up with a painful headache, her eyes still closed. she heard faint sounds of anklets. She remembers that her mother used to wear them, is she at her home? She relaxed a bit for a moment but soon her body tensed up when she heard an unfamiliar voice.
"Who is she? I'd never seen her before. And what's with her strange clothes, how disgraceful!" The woman spat with a cold flat tone.
'Who in the hell's sake is she to be judging her dressing sense' Kaya clenched her teeth.
"Bring her to my room, I'll see what I have to do with her, and don't tell anyone about her." She ordered and someone in the room quietly nodded.
The curiosity to know about her surrounding was eating her so Kaya's eyes lit up hearing all the strange voices around her and she rubbed her eyes desperately but still, her vision was blurred. Just how much she drank last night?
But that's not what's important at this time!
But wait..is she kidnapped??
She was kidnapped and that too by a woman.
"wait!! you can't do this to me! what is this place?! I'll report you to the police! release me or else you... " Kaya howled through her blurred vision at the woman who glanced coldly at her.
"She even talks strangely."
the guards grabbed her and soon she was swept into the darkness...
_________
She sniffed the smell of sandalwood surrounding her. She felt as if she was floating in the air. Her body was light and she was unable to feel her legs.
She shot open her eyes realizing that something was off. Her eyes opened up to a beautiful glamorous room with a royal-like aesthetic. Her eyes moved down to realize that she was on the marble staircase leading down to the water decorated with rose petals.
This was without any doubt not her home. She was somewhere else
Somewhere strange...
The thought horrified her!
(Imagine this with rose petals)
She looked down at herself and gasped when she realized that she was wrapped in a white silk cloth exposing her shoulders and mid-thigh.
Her body froze when she revisited what she had heard back then. Before she thought that she was too drunk and that it was just a hallucination but now she was sure that something is wrong with the situation.
She has been kidnapped!
She immediately got out of the water and searched for my piece of clothes that she could wear. Soon she heard the voice of anklets again...
It's a woman!
Her mind eased up a bit knowing that it was a female who was coming inside but still her posture remained attentive.
The curtains opened to a beautiful woman.
"..."
She kidnapped her?! She was astonished and found herself gazing at the woman. She noticed how breathtaking she looked. Her sharp deep black eyes and her rosy pink lips with a combination of slightly dusky skin. Her thin delicate shoulder and the white cloth wrapped around her body. An ounce of drop swiftly slid down into her bosom..!
Kaya was dumbstruck. It's not common for a lady like her to be a kidnapper. However, she was curious as to what could be the reason behind this kidnapping.
"W-why am I here?" Kaya felt herself stuttering in front of the woman who stared coldly at her.
"..." The woman raised her eyebrow at Kaya as her feets dipped into the bath water, the silver anklets making her wet feet looks divine. She swiftly entered the water and looked straight at Kaya.
When her eyes met hers, Kaya looked down, her face heating up as she started to feel nervous. "Adress me as Rajkumari," she said with a tone of authority.
'Rajkumari'?
What the hell is she talking about?! Kaya could not help but burst into a fit of laughter.
"How dare you laugh at me?!" The princess growled at her with a low voice, still maintaining her royal-like calm. The thick Hindi accent seemed alien to Kaya.
"Are you okay? I mean 'princess' would you like me to make an appointment with the doctor " kaya said clutching her stomach.
The Princess gritted her teeth and clutched the bowl of sandalwood paste tightly. "Dasiya!" (Maids) she shouted and two maids showed up immediately. They were wearing a plain yellow traditional lehenga.
Looking at the maids, her laughter died off and was replaced by a confused expression.
Where in the world is she? The place and time and the language together all seem off. This did not resemble her era.
The princess eyed the maid and they nodded moving towards kaya. "Wait!! T-this? Where is this?? Where am I?" Kaya felt her body going cold and at this moment she was not sure of anything she felt like crying...
The princess snapped her head at her and immediately stopped the maids with a cold glance.
"You ask where is this? Huh?" Her voice was filled with mockery and all Kaya could do was hear her. Any explanation as to what or where she is will do? She felt scared knowing that she was in a strange place.
The woman came out of the tub and took the heavy dress from the maid. She gracefully removed the white cloth and slid into the red-white lehenga. Kaya looked down out of basic courtesy, not wanting to stare at someone while they were changing.
What shocked her was the woman in front of her, she didn't even flinch with shame while changing in front of a stranger. She glanced at her side and realized that the maids held her head down. She wondered how she got here..?
Kaya forgot that she was expecting an answer and only came out of her thoughts when she heard the women say something," this is the Rajput mansion and I'm the youngest princess of the Rajput rajgharana (royal family). It's shameful how I have to give my identity to an ignorant woman like you." She said closing her eyes and trying to calm her anger.
"Royal family'?!
"..."
It could have not been more clear than this to Kaya.
She has time travelled..!
But how could this be possible...
"Now" the princess lifted her head in arrogance as she curled up her lips "tell me about who you're." Soon a sharp sword was pointed at her! A danger that can kill her anytime...
She has to make up something believable or else she can die at any time.
"Princess," Kaya said calculatingly, she did not want to say something that could cost her life.
'just make up something quick, since this is the ancient era they would be easy to trick, or else staying silent would arise more suspicion' kaya reminded herself.
"I honestly don't know how I am here, I only remembered that I was coming back home late at night from the temple. And my parents..how is this possible j can't seem to remember them" I pretended to clutch my head as if it was aching trying to recall the memories. I dropped to my knees and looked up at the princess to examine her reaction...
Will she even believe me? An ounce of fear creeped out to me but kept my act going on. "Gayatri..help her dress up and then bring her down" the princess's face softened up a bit and she turned around.
Kaya eased up on the thought that she believed her. The princess looked seemingly young maybe 17 hence she was easy to fool.
But what if others don't believe her story and she is killed in this era??.. the thought scared her to her bones...
