Mr. Cohen said, âWith her situation now, can she still get a good match?â.
Guinevere was so hopelessly obsessed with Weston that if they allowed her to be with him again , Wes ton might feel guilty about her and fulfill her dream.
âThat makes sense, but wouldnât it be unfair to Gwen?â
Mr. Cohen glanced at Guinevere.â Unfair for her? Look at her now! Ask her if sheâll feel aggrieved!â
âSo are we going to leave her be?â
Mr. Cohenâs eyes changed. âThis time, weâll have to help her as parentsâ¦â
Guinevereâs obsession was too strong.
She would not stop until she got Weston. They did not want more trouble, and neither did they want to see their only daughter go cr azy because of her obsessions.
One by one, the guests left the room and said goodbye to Zachary. At last, Guinevere and Weston wer e the only ones left.
After a long silence, Weston said, âItâs time. »
âWeston, do you feel sad?â Guinevere cut him off. âZack is dead. Arenât you sad?»
Weston did not answer her question. He lowered his gaze and looked at her hand, hugging his waist. Then, he put
his hand over hers.
Guinevereâs heart fluttered. She thought he was going to comfort her, but he only pulled her hands away.â Itâs no use saying these things now. Heâs gone. Those who are alive can only look forward.â
âI donât want to move on!â
Guinevere suddenly got a little emotional . âWhy must we move on? The murderer hasnât confessed to t he crime, has she?â
Westonâs face sank. He pushed her away. âThis was an accident. Thereâs no murdererâ¦â
âHahaâ¦â Guinevere laughed. âNo murderer? Just an accident?â
âWeston, I never thought youâd be so protective of her⦠Look at all the evidence. Do you still want to deceive yourself?â
Guinevere looked at Weston with tears in her eyes. âI beg you. Donât do this to me, okay? Itâs our babyâ¦â
Guinevere started crying again. âI wanted to give you guys my blessing, but Stella wonât even let our on ly child go!â
âI said this was just an accident.â Westonâs eyes were a little cold.
Guinevere knew that the plan would backfire if she continued.
She wiped her tears away. âGrandpa wonât let you take sides with herâ¦â
âIâm not going to take sides with her either.â Weston looked into Guinevereâs eyes. âSheâs not guilty. Even if she is, it was unintentional.â
Guinevere pressed her lips hard and looked at him in disbelief. âMust you plead her innocence?â
Weston said nothing, but his silence clearly showed his stand.
Guinevere was still in disbelief. âEven if Stella did kill our baby, you wouldnât care?â
âI donât consider a baseless hypothesis.â Weston was unshakable. âShe wonât kill someone on purpose.â
âBut the evidence clearly points to her!â
âIt was just an accident.â
Guinevere came to a sudden realization. âYou donât care about the truth, do you? You just want to get Stella out of trouble, right?â
Guinevere saw his silence and started crying again.
CT âWhy must you do this to me⦠Why? What have I done wrong?â
She gripped his hand tightly, refusing to let go. âWhy wonât you give up on her after what she did?â
