Chapter 1070 Justin helped Bryce with his homework patiently. Bryce initially listened to Justinâs explan ation , but he slowly got distracted. As a teacher, Justin could easily sense Bryceâs distraction. He tapp ed his finger on his sonâs head to get his attention.
âHey. Why are you getting distracted? Your exams are coming soon. Donât divide your attention elsewhere.â âI knowâ¦â
Bryce took the pen and doodled on the paper. He suddenly looked up at Justin and asked, âDad, will you and Mom remarry?â
Justin froze for a moment, dumbfounded, seemingly taken aback by the question.
After a short moment, Justin asked Bryce, âWhy the sudden question?â
Bryce shook his head. âI just miss the old days. We were always a family of threeâ¦â
Justin stopped talking and looked at him steadily. âI thought youâd gotten used to it after all these years.â
Bryce bristled, âAre there any kids thatâll get used to their parentsâ divorce?â
Justin laughed. âYouâre right.â
He patted his head and asked, âAre you unhappy because Mom and Dad havenât been able to pay muc h attention to you?â
âNot really.â Bryce shook his head at first, then suddenly nodded. âActually, a little.â
âSo, is it a yes or a no?â âAlright. I admit Iâm just a littleâ¦â Bryce pinched his fingertips and gestured, âJust a little bit.â
âIf youâre unhappy, just say it. Itâs not like Iâm going to scold you.â
Justin nudged him in the head. âWhat. Are you afraid that Mom will get mad at you?â Bryce scratched his head, feeling a little embarrassed. âI was afraid you two would be upset.â After that, the father and son stopped talking about the matter of remarriage.
Bryce was still a kid, but he was grown enough to read his parentsâ faces. After Justin guided him through some questions, he closed the door to the study and turned to leave.
As soon as he walked out, he saw Tina coming out of the other room.
Tina looked past him to the room behind him. âHow is he?â
âHeâs doing his homework,â Justin replied. However, when he saw how relieved Tina looked, he suddenly changed to a slightly more serious demeanor and asked,â
Whatâs the status of Stellaâs case now?â
Justin wanted to know when Tinaâs busy days would end so she could focus on preparing for Bryceâs m idterm.
Tina found his question strange. âAre you trying to get Stellaâs information from me?â
Justin admitted frankly, âYes, but if itâs inconvenient, you donât have to tell me.â
âYouâre so honest.â
Tina sneered. âYou still canât forget about her at this point. Youâre really loyal in love.â
Justin frowned a little. He accidentally blurted out, âWill you hurt her because of meâ¦â
As soon as he said that, he realized he had crossed the line. He did not finish his sentence.
However, Tina clearly understood his implied meaning and looked at him in disbelief.
âWhat do you take me for? Do you think I hurt others for my private interest in the name of work?â
Tina got a little worked up. âIâve told you before. I accepted the case for my own career. It has nothing to do with you!â
âI know, sorry. I didnât mean toâ¦â Justine said apologetically.
âYou clearly did!â Tina glared at Justin and refused to say anything else. She turned around and stormed away without looking back.
Justin watched her leave and rubbed his brow in slight regret and annoyance.
