Perhaps it was a premonition or something, but Stella suddenly turned her head around, only to see Weston standing behind her. He was still painting because he had run too quickly and his face was pale.
But even so, he still looked handsome.
Stella remained motionless and stood still.
After a few moments, Stella watched Weston slowly walk up to her.
Beads of sweat dripped down his flushed face, but his tone remained calm. âYou came? Why didnât you go in and visit me?â
Stella tucked her hair behind her ear and said indifferently, âIâm not going in.â
She glanced at the back of his hand and frowned when she saw him bleeding. âYou should go back to your ward. Donât aggravate your condition.â
Weston would not move and looked at her intently.
Stella exhaled and took a step back. âLet Elias spend more time with you. Emma will be here this afternoon. Get well soon.â
After that, she turned to leave.
Weston stepped forward and grabbed her wrist at once. âAre youâ¦coming this afternoon?â
Stella shook her head. âSomeone else will send them.â
âWhy arenât you coming?â Weston asked her insistently.
Stella curled her lips into a smile. âI thought you should know.â
âI donât get it!â
Weston suddenly hugged Stella from behind. He used so much force that he was about to crush her.
Stella felt some pain from his hug. With all the people coming and going, she felt embarrassed and kept slapping his hand. âLet go of me!â
âNo!â Weston gritted his teeth, shut his eyes, and refused.
Stella took a deep breath and slapped him hard, perhaps accidentally pressing the needle wound on the back of his hand. Weston sucked in a deep breath but still did not let go. Instead, he held her tighter.
Stellaâs face turned cold. âMust you worsen things?â
Stella refused to visit him because she wanted to stop their entanglement. She knew the two of them would never be good together. Hence, why continue the entanglement?
Even so, Weston clearly disagreed. âMust you be so mean to me?â
Stella sighed helplessly. âWhen have I been mean to you? I didnât get back at your or hurt you. I just didnât want to see you.â
âYour refusal to see me is hurting me the mostâ¦â
âHow could you be so unreasonable?â
Seeing that the people around were looking their way, Stella could not help but slap him harder. âLet go of me first!â
âI wonât!â
Weston said, âYouâll be gone as soon as I let goâ¦â
Stella furrowed her brows impatiently. âBut you canât hug me like this forever.â
âI can.â Weston insisted stubbornly.
Stella looked down and suddenly noticed Weston barefoot and shoeless feet. She pulled his hand away spitefully and told him, âYouâd better go back to the ward. Elias is still waiting for you there.â
Weston just looked at her with sad eyes. âYouâre still going to leave me, arenât you?â
Stella nodded. âWe shouldnât see each other again.â
Weston laughed bitterly and looked at her with sad, dark eyes. âYou know I can never do thatâ¦â
âI donât care if you can. Anyway, I wonât see you again. I donât want you to see me again.â
