Chapter 428 Jared just shot a glance at Agnes, said nothing, and made a Uâturn to drop her off at the Pritchard familyâs mansion. He didnât go in, though. Even though heâd been busy lately, he made it a point to visit her at the hospital. He even brought her meals three times a day.
Agnes had once turned him down, but Jared told her that if she didnât start eating properly, her health could take a turn for the worse. Truth be told, Agnes hadnât had an appetite recently. Everything she ate made her feel sick, and the only thing she could stomach was soup that Jared made himself. So, Jared started making her all sorts of nutritious soups that were easy to digest.
Without him, her health wouldâve already gone down the drain.
When she got out of the car, Agnes began to feel sick again. Jared patted her back while Agnes threw up a bit before getting out of the car. As she was getting out, Jared suddenly grabbed her arm. âAgnes, are you...â
Agnes frowned, âWhatâs up?â
Something complex flickered in Jaredâs eyes, but was quickly hidden behind a calm expression. âNever mind. Just go on in.â
Agnes went inside, thinking Jaredâs behavior was a bit weird.
As Agnes was heading upstairs, she bumped into Beatrice Pritchard.
Agnes didnât want to bother with her and just wanted to walk past. But as she got to Beatrice, she suddenly stuck out her foot, nearly tripping Agnes.
Agnes said coldly, âBeatrice, are you trying to make trouble?â Beatrice just smirked. âSo, Jared dropped you off, huh, Agnes?
Didnât think you two were still so close. Did you forget how your mom died?â
Beatriceâs words felt like a punch to the gut, and Agnes was momentarily speechless.
Agnesâ face went pale.
But Beatrice just fanned the flames, âCanât believe you can share a bed with the brother of your enemy. You donât seem to mind, but Iâm embarrassed for you, Agnes. Youâre just a shameless and vain person.â
Agnes grabbed Beatriceâs chin fiercely, âYou want to know what itâs like to sleep with Jared? Let me tell you, it feels great. You want me to divorce him, Beatrice? Well, Iâm not going to. What can you do about it? If I hear you bring up my mom again, Iâll take your jaw off.â
With that, Agnes squeezed hard.
Beatriceâs jaw dislocated again.
Beatrice couldnât speak and shot Agnes a venomous look.
She wished she could become a knife and kill Agnes.
She had forgotten that Agnes had this ability.
But she didnât expect Agnes to be so brazen, so quick to use force.
There was a crisp sound.
Agnes quickly relocated Beatriceâs jaw.
Beatrice covered her mouth, too pained to speak.
She could only glare angrily at Agnes.
F < D G < So Agnesâ voice was calm, âYou think this is funny? If you like it, go ahead and provoke me.â
With that, Agnes went upstairs to her room.
Beatrice was hopping mad.
She wanted to smash something, but found nothing within reach.
In a fit of anger, she kicked the white stair railing.
She stubbed her toe and screamed in pain.

Beatrice pointed a gnarled finger at Agnesâs door, teeth gritted, âIâm gonna kill her. I swear Iâll kill her!â
