Chapter 452 Valeria was the woman Alyssa had always wanted to set up with Jared.
She seemed to have a pretty good grasp on their current situation and was certain they will eventually divorce.
However, Agnes wasnât exactly clued in on where Valeria stood with Jared.
Agnes said, âIâm just popping in, if heâs not here Iâll leave right away.â
âAs his wife, Ms. Pritchard, you donât know where he is?â
Agnes simply smiled and said, âYou know my fatherâs been sick, Iâve been spending my time at the hospital with him, not really in the mood to worry about anything else.â
Agnes didnât say much else, nor did she want to spill the beans about her current situation with Jared.
She was clearly uncomfortable, as Valeria was obviously digging.
Valeria said, âI see, we had lunch planned today but he didnât show, Jared is usually a man of his word, it got me a bit concerned.â
âHe probably had more pressing matters to attend to.â Agnes shrugged it off.
Agnes chuckled and said, âI have some things to deal with, Iâll be heading out.â
âMs. Pritchard,â Valeria stopped her. âMy father went to a meeting at the hotel in the next block today, but he went alone, no secretary in tow.â
Valeria moved closer to Agnes, âMaybe you should check on your stepmotherâs whereabouts, you might be in for a surprise.â
She continued, smiling at Agnes, âOpportunities like these are hard to come by, good luck.â
With that, she left.
Agnes stood there, her brow furrowed.
It was clear what Valeria was hinting at, she was suggesting Agnes catch her stepmother in the act of cheating.
Valeriaâs father, Berlin, wasnât a local of Willowbrook Town, he just came here on business trips occasionally.
So, besides that one time at the golf course, Agnes didnât have any concrete evidence.
Without proof, it was hard for Agnes to go up against Laura.
Agnes discovered that Laura had mortgaged the Pritchard Mansion to an underground auction house and the auction had already begun. In a week, the auction would start.
If she didnât act now, she would be too late.
Furthermore, Laura decided to auction the house early because she and Berlinâs project was snatched by someone else, causing Berlin to suffer a huge loss and become a bit cold towards Laura.
This was undoubtedly Valeriaâs doing.
To please Berlin, Laura arranged an overseas vacation.
So, she needed to solve the house auction problem pronto.
As Agnes left the Tim Tower, she called Ben.
Upon hearing the news, Ben was thrilled. âTrust me, Iâll bring all the journalists, this is what weâre best at.â
Agnes confirmed Lauraâs itinerary.
Ben was an old hand at this and managed to find their room number. Sure enough, the two of them only booked one platinum presidential suite.
In the afternoon, Ben and a few others managed to sneak into the hotel to keep an eye on things.
By nine oâclock at night, Laura and Berlin returned to the hotel after playing a few rounds in the underground casino and went back to their room together. Ben and Agnes kept in touch over the phone. Agnes said calmly, âWeâll start in half an hour.â
âGot it!â
Meanwhile, Agnes quickly made her way to the hotel.
She also notified Beatrice.
Of course, it wasnât Agnes who informed Beatrice directly but Ben, posing as a journalist, telling Beatrice that Agnes was at the hotel with a man.
Upon hearing this, Beatrice rushed over immediately.
Sheâd always suspected that Agnes and Ivan had something going on and today she finally had the chance to find proof.
Once she successfully exposed Agnes, even if Agnes, out of her ambition for Mrs. Whitfieldâs position, didnât want to cut ties with Jared because of her motherâs hatred, Jared would definitely dump her.
She couldnât wait to see Agnes caught in the act and kicked out of the Whitfield family.
