Chapter 470 Agnes had just stepped out of the bathroom when Beatrice walked in.
First thing Beatrice said when she came upstairs was, âAgnes, did you get a divorce? Was it with Jared?â
Agnes responded coldly, âThis isnât your home anymore. Give me back my keys or Iâm changing the locks.â
Beatrice chuckled, âAgnes, donât worry. Iâm not here to fight over the estate. Iâm sick of this old dump. But I need to know, did you divorce Jared?â
A hint of urgency showed on Beatriceâs face.
The only thing she cared about right now was whether Agnes was divorced.
It seemed to have turned into an obsession.
She had just seen Jared dropping Agnes off.
But he didnât come in.
What does it mean when Jared wasnât by Agnesâ side at this delicate time?
There must be a problem between them.
Agnes had no interest in answering Beatrice.
She turned and walked towards her room.
But Beatrice followed her.
She ran into Agnesâ room and started rummaging through stuff.
Agnes was pissed, âBeatrice, what the hell are you doing?â
Beatrice, panicking, asked, âWhereâs your divorce agreement, Agnes? I bet you and Jared are divorced, right? Right?â
Agnes walked up and grabbed Beatriceâs hand, âBeatrice, get out. Donât cause a scene here. Whether Iâm divorced or not is my business, none of yours.â Beatrice didnât dare to mess with Agnes now.
Because Agnes knew a lot about Lauraâs secrets.
If Laura found out she was bothering Agnes again, sheâd get an earful.
She just followed Jaredâs car here, couldnât resist, came to confirm.
But seeing Agnes looking angry, Beatrice had her answer.
A smirk appeared on Beatriceâs lips, âWho said itâs none of my business? Just you wait, Agnes. One day Iâll replace you as Mrs.
Whitfield.â
Beatrice left cheerfully.
Seeing her smug face, Agnes found it ironic.
Their father had only passed away a few days ago, but all Beatrice cared about was whether she and Jared were divorced.
After a while, life returned to its brief normalcy.
Agnes was thinking about going back to her grandmotherâs in the countryside.
But she was worried about her health.
She couldnât eat anything now, had no appetite at all.
She didnât dare to go to the hospital directly, as numerous eyes were watching her.
Kerri moved in to stay with her.
She also took care of her.
Kerri was a medical student, knew a lot more.
She cooked some thick soup in the evening.
Agnes hadnât eaten anything in a long time, but she drank a big bowl of soup tonight.
In the middle of dinner, Kerri picked up a call.
She didnât avoid Agnes.
It was Brayden. They seemed to have an argument, so Kerri hung up directly.
Agnes asked, âWhat happened?â
Kerri said, âHeâs a bit neurotic, just ignore him. But you, Agnes, whatâs your plan? In three months, youâll start to show and youâll need regular prenatal care.â
Agnes frowned.
In fact, she hadnât figured out what to do yet.
âDo you really decide not to tell Jared about the baby?â Kerri carefully asked.
Right now, only the two of them knew that Agnes was pregnant.
