Chapter 626 Alyssa walked to Jaredâs bedroom, and the door was wide open.
A few young nannies were peeping inside.
Alyssa strolled over and asked, âWhat are you guys up to?â
One of the nannies replied, âThatâs Mr. Whitfieldâs kid right there. Heâs a beautiful kid, Iâve never seen a kid that handsome.â
Others chimed in with agreement.
However, another nanny voiced her confusion, âBut he sleeps so deeply. The butler just went in to bring him some fruit and he didnât wake up.â
âHeâs been snoozing ever since he got back. Is he sick or something?â
Alyssa retorted, âQuit your yapping here and get back to your work.â
The nannies dispersed from the doorway, only then did Alyssa walk in.
There was indeed a child lying on the bed.
Alyssa took one look and felt a lump in her throat.
She walked closer, step by step, like entering a tunnel of memories.
Standing by Summerâs side, Alyssa felt like she was standing next to a four or fiveâyearâold Jared.
Summer looked so much like Jared did at that age, it was almost uncanny.
Jared was her child, but he had only ever been able to call her âsisterâ.
Tim was tough on Jared, so Jared grew up acting like a mature man.
Then everything went haywire, a rift grew between Jared and her.
Jared couldnât see himself as Alyssaâs brother, but he also couldnât call Alyssa momâ.
Every time she saw Jaredâs evasive eyes, Alyssaâs heart ached.
Often, Alyssa missed the days when Jared was still a kid.
Back then, when he messed up and got scolded, heâd take refuge in her arms.
That time was probably the happiest Alyssa had ever been.
But time at Century Entertainment couldnât flow backward.
Now, Alyssa was looking at Summer, it was like looking at a young Jared.
She couldnât hold back her tears.
Alyssa walked to the bed and gently sat down.
Summer was deep in sleep, frowning, just like Jared.
Jared also frowned in his sleep, as if he always had worries beyond his age.
It was always heartâwrenching.
Summer had incredibly fine features, like a perfect work of art carved by God.
He had a prominent nose, a bit like Agnes.
His skin was smooth, even a little girl might not be this beautiful.
Speaking of which, he didnât look much like Agnes.
But in his expressions, you could see a bit of Agnes.
One glance, and you knew, this had to be Agnes and Jaredâs child.
Alyssa couldnât resist reaching out and touching the sleeping childâs hair.
Summer was truly a blend of Agnes and Jaredâs best traits.
His hair was soft, like a ball of soft wool.
This was a bit different from Jared.
Jared had very rough hair as a child, always cut short, and felt like a hedgehogâs spikes when touched.
But Summer was different. He seemed to radiate a sort of warmth that was captivating.
Alyssaâs heart was filled with a feeling that was both joyous and bittersweet.
Just then, Summer on the bed stirred, and slowly opened his eyes...
âAre you awake already?â Alyssa asked in surprise.
