The voluptuous receptionist was particularly enthusiastic this time, “Ms. Pritchard, are you here to see the CEO? I’ll escort you to the private elevator.”

Agnes didn’t want to attract attention, so she briskly walked towards the elevator. Once she stepped into the elevator, she breathed a sigh of relief.

The elevator smoothly ascended, halting at the 66th floor. Stepping out of the elevator, she arrived at Jared’s secretarial department. It was a vast open–plan office.

It was lunchtime, and most of the staff had gone out for a bite. Only a few remained, hard at work Agnes spotted Anita Drake.

Anita was dressed in a sharp professional attire. She seemed much more composed than before Anita was visibly surprised to see Agnes, almost not recognizing her, “Agnes, is that you?”

Agnes nodded with a smile, “It’s been years, Anita.”

“It’s been too long, Agnes. How have you been these years?”

Anita had been at The Tim Group for four years, and she’d heard much about Agnes. Everyone knew that four years ago, the CEO and Agnes divorced. The once darling of Hollywood had suddenly vanished from the public eye.

Who would have thought that four years later, Agnes would return?

Agnes managed a smile, “I’m doing well, how about you?”

I’ve recently been promoted, I’m a senior secretary now Agnes nodded, “Who would’ve thought the former gossip–loving intern would become a professional workaholic?”

Anita blushed, noticing the child on Agnes shoulder. ‘Is this your son?”

Agnes nodded Anita was taken aback, because this child was known by everyone in the secretarial 3 department.

The CEO used to bring this child to work daily.

So, this was Agnes‘ child. Does this mean the CEO and Agnes have reconciled? It was indeed a surprise. But there was no time for Anita to catch up with Agnes.

Seeing Agnes holding the child in one arm and struggling with a food container in the other, Anita quickly asked, “Are you here to see the CEO? He’s in his office.”

Agnes nodded, “You carry on with your work, I’ll head there.”

Without knocking, Agnes stepped into the office.

Anita watched Agnes‘ retreating figure with a sense of wonder.

When Agnes walked inside, Jared was engrossed in his work.

He didn’t even notice Agnes‘ arrival.

Agnes walked over, placing the food container on Jared’s desk, “Mr. Busybody, you’re making all this money, do you even have time to spend it all?”

Jared finally looked up. Seeing Agnes, there was a clear flicker of surprise and delight in his eyes “What took you so long? I was starving.”

He got up, smoothly taking Nocturne from Agnes‘ arms, setting him on the couch and tucking him in with a blanket.

Agnes started to unpack the food container on the table, “It’s been quite a while since I cooked, not sure how it turned out.”
