Ramonaâs advice was sincere.
Amused, Agnes responded, âWhy would there be such rumors in the office?â

Whitfieldâs car last night.â
With a complex expression, Ramona asked, âAgnes, is it true?â
Agnes, completely nonchalant, laughed, âOf course itâs true.â
Ramona looked taken aback, not expecting Agnes to admit it so readily.
Agnes clarified, âMr. Whitfieldâs driver was there to pick him up last night, and he offered me a lift home. Thatâs just him being a gentleman.â
Considering her words, Ramona scratched her head, âYeah, I suppose thereâs nothing wrong with thatâ
Agnes continued, âMr. Whitfield and I had a 40âminute discussion about the promo video last night before leaving. Didnât the Director leave much earlier with the rest of you? How could she have seen me get into Mr. Whitfieldâs car? Unless she was waiting outside for 40 minutesâ
With a gossipy tone, Agnes queried. âWhat was the Director doing waiting outside for so long? Was she waiting for Mr. Whitfield?
At the hint of gossip, Ramonaâs face lit up The rumors spread like wildfire through the office Amidst the storm, Agnes remained calm and collected By the end of the day, everyone knew that Mr. Whitfield was merely being a gentleman by offering Agnes a ride home Instead, the rumors now revolved around Yolanda and Jaredâs supposed affair.
