Ghost Love (Leo X Angie) TMNT 2007Words: 5735

The next morning was pretty rough. The turtles were either eating breakfast or trying to figure out what the yeti was doing in New York.

"Dudes, did anyone get the license plate of that thing that hit us last night? My head," Mikey groaned, holding his head.

"Okay, that was just weird. I mean, first the Foot, then that hideous monster," Donnie said.

"Yesh. It looked like your mum, dude," Mikey laughed.

Donnie rolled his eyes, then pointed out. "Yeah, that would make her your mum too, doofus."

"Yeah, whatever," Mikey shrugged.

"Keep laughing, Mikey. Last night was an embarrassment," Raph said.

"I'll tell you what's embarrassing: you can't follow a single order," Leo noted.

"Oh, how cute. You've been back for five minutes, and now you're schooling us on your master plan?" Raph snapped.

"Okay, so this is my fault now, huh, Raph? I'm the only one that has to be responsible?" Leo almost shouted.

"Hey, you're the trained master, not me," Raph threw back

"Dudes, can it. Here comes Splinter and the girls," Mikey whispered and covered the bandage on his head.

Leo and Raph sat back down while Donnie sat by Mikey. Splinter came in humming while Angie followed him with Skyla skipping behind her.

"Good morning, my sons," Splinter greeted.

"Good morning, Sensei," Mikey, Donnie and Leo said in unison.

"Sup," Raph added.

"Morning, boys," Angie greeted, sitting next to Leo, not knowing what just happened.

"Morning, Ang," Leo said.

"Morning, Leo," Skyla smiled and kissed his cheek.

Then she went to Raph and did the same. Then Mikey and finally Donnie and sat in his lab as he wrapped his arm around her.

"Every ninja's day should start with a healthy breakfast. It fills me with pride to see you boys together again. If anyone needs me, I'll be watching my stories," Splinter told them.

"Okay, Sensei," Skyla called.

Donnie and Mikey ate leftover pizza while Raph and Leo ate cereal as they angrily glared at each other.

Angie and Skyla could notice their looks but didn't say anything and just ate some cereal.

"Hothead," Leo muttered.

"Splinter Jr.," Raph snapped

Watching Raph and Leo argue, made Angie feel scared. Leo could see her and wondered why she was feeling like that.

"Donnie, what's wrong with them?" Skyla asked.

"Nothing, just brother issues," Donnie said, turning her to face his chest and rubbed her back soothingly.

"Cody is going to break up with Donna. I just know it," Splinter remarked then turned on the TV.

"We intereupt the Gilmore Girls for this special news report," the voice announced.

"Monsters loose in the city? Strange reports are coming in about an incident that sounds like something out of science fiction," the reporter said, showing the construction site the turtles were at the night before.

"Boys!" Splinter yelled.

He sent them into his room while he sent Angie and Skyla to the dojo. They walked in worrying for the turtles.

"What were Raph and Leo arguing about?" Skyla asked.

"I'm not sure, but we'll figure it out," Angie assured and they hugged.

Meanwhile, Splinter was talking to his sons about their disobedience.

"Leonardo, I am most disappointed in you. You are the eldest of your brothers. I was counting on you to bring order to the chaos of this family. This is why I have forbidden any surface activity. We cannot return to the surface to fight each other," he explained.

"But, Master Splinter, how can I be expected to do so when Raph-" Leo started.

"No excises when you are the leader, my student!" Splinter shouted at Leo and left the room.

"We have to go to out and find out who's responsible for this. There ain't no other solution," Raph said.

"Save the brute vigilante junk for that Night Watchman," Leo said.

"Night Watcher," Mikey and Donnie corrected.

"Yeah, whatever," Leo muttered.

"I'm going out," Raph grumbled and stormed out.

Leo sighed and walked out of the room. He sat on the couch and gave a heavy sigh.

Angie left the dojo and she told Skyla to stay with the others. She sat next to Leo and tapped his shoulder.

When he saw her, he gave a sad smile, which she returned.

"Look, Angie, I'm sorry. It's just I don't think Raph's ready to let go of his grudge on me," he explained.

"I understand that these things take time, but there is something more important to deal with right now. At least try to," she requested.

"I guess. Why were you looking weird at the breakfast table?" he wondered.

She laid her hands on her lap and turned her gaze to the floor. Tears were beginning to form in her eyes. "I just remembered a horrible memory."

"What happened?" he asked.

She sighed softly. "It was two years ago. I was 12 and my sister was only 4. We lived in a small house in the mountains with an old wooden bridge over a deep ditch with a river below. We had a fight and I was coming to apologise. But when I was halfway across the bridge it began to break. My parents managed to save me...but they couldn't save themselves. Skyla and I were forced to watch as they fell into the ditch."

Leo's eyes went wide with shock.

"We were put in the Orphanage after that and we lived there for two years until we ran away to the village where we met you. I haven't had a fight with Skyla since," she said.

"I'm so sorry, Ang," he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer to him, then added. "I never would've thought a fight could kill a family member."

"I know. And seeing you and Raph argue made me remember that day," she looked up at him, then added. "You don't want to fight and then lose him afterwards."

"I don't want that to happen," he agreed.
