Chapter 13
"Scott do I really have to go? Corey can bring Stiles back and I can stay and protect him here." I tried to negotiate my way out.
"Chloe, I'm sorry, you know very well I can't do that. The whole pack is moving to the moonstone pack except my father and his friends." I pouted at him. I was about to protest but he put his hand up. "Chloe the answer is still no. Why do you badly want to stay and not go back to the moonstone pack where your family is?" he asked curiously. The rest of my group just looked at me and waited for me to answer.
"What do you mean, your my family too, this pack is my family Scott, the moonstone pack is nothing to me except for my dad, mum and brothers." I said.
"Why? What happened back at that pack that turned you against them?" He asked me. I didn't answer him. Yes I still haven't told them the reason why I ran since they never pressured me to tell them. "Chloe, I can't help you out until I know the reason why!" Scott said looking me in the eye. I still didn't answer him. "Chloe, I'm not asking you as your alpha, but as your older cousin who's concerned for you, what made you run away from them?"
This made me spill straight away. I told him everything and by the end of the story he was shaking with fury. "Xavier let this happen!" he yelled. "He slapped you?" he said through gritted teeth.
"HE REJECTED YOU!" he said as he punched the wall. I looked around and Adam, Chase, Patrick and Peter were mad too. Kelly, Zahara and Rose were angry and had tears in their eyes. Corona was just laughing at all the girls but would send me sympathetic smiles.
Scott was fuming. "Scott, it's alright now! I'm over it really." I said trying to convince him. Man protectiveness runs through my dad's family.
He was still shaking. "That bastard believed everyone over you, his mate!, my cousin!" he shouted as he started pacing back and forth. "He better watch out!' Scott said menacing.
"Scott no! you can't. you will start a feud between the two packs, and then I would have to choose between you and my family in the moonstone pack." I begged. Scott was too deep in thought to even hear me. I walked up to him and shook him. "Scott you can't do anything, please I'm begging you not to!" I said.
"No! I am going to make him regret everything! How can he let such things happen?" he yelled pulling away from me and walking to the other side. "I am going to the moonstone pack and I am going to kill Xavier Gilbert!" he said all serious.
I was scared, scared for Xavier, because Scott is stronger than Xavier. His wolf proved that. I turned to face Scott. "Scott you can't!"
"No Chloe don't! his done too much!" Scott said.
"It's not that Scott! I know he deserves it, but you can't. Don't you understand? He's my mate. If you hurt him, you hurt me. Trust me; if I wasn't connected to him he would've been dead the first time he laid a hand on me." I said in a flat tone.
Scott was quiet and now it was chase who stepped forward. "Scott she's right, it will affect her." He said like he was pissed off at the idea.
"I can't just let him off like this! I have to do something!" he said frustrated. "All those times he called me and talked to me like nothing happened, that little shifty bastard." He said clenching his fists as he slammed it down on a table.
"Scott, he doesn't know I'm related to you, so you can't actually blame him for that." I said in his defence. I really shouldn't defend Xavier but if I don't he's a dead man and I don't want his filthy jerk face blood on my hands.
"HE DIDN'T KNOW! HE DIDN'T KNOW!" Scott yelled louder and louder each time. "REALLY THE LAST NAME MAKA DIDN'T RING A BELL TO HIM!" he screamed. Damn I forgot we had the same last name.
"Scott lots of peo-" he stopped me again.
"But how many people with the last name Maka does he know?" he questioned me. I just kept quiet. "Exactly. I am not letting this go and I am definitely not going to that pack without physically harming him." he said with a determined face.
"Scott, you can't harm him, he's her mate and whatever you do to him affects her." Chase butted in.
"Chase, I'm not letting him get away with this!" Scott said irritated.
"And you're not going to let him!" Chase said. What? I'm so confused now.
Scott looked at him with both eyes squinted trying to figure out what Chase has in mind. "What do you mean?" Scott questioned.
"There's other ways of getting people back Scott, and it doesn't always involve physical harm." We all looked at Chase like he was crazy.
"Keep talking." Scott said interested all of a sudden.
"Well, since he's an alpha, he is most probably going crazy right now or is unfocused since Chloe is not next to him." Scott nodded and I just listened attentively. "Well he doesn't know that she's coming back." We all nodded.
"I say, Chloe goes there and acts like she has moved on." He looked directly at Scott and Scott nodded. "With another guy." Chase finished.
I looked at him like he was just plain stupid. I'm already over Xavier. Scott just glared at Chase. "Chase are you trying to tell me that I should pretend to be my cousin's lover!?" he said in a scary tone.
"What! No! i meant a guy you trust." Chase said horrified of the thought of Scott and I being intimate. Ok now that image is in my head uggghhhhh!
"Good, I was about to come over there and slap some sense into your head if you said otherwise." Scott sighed with relief. Oh I would too if the image wasn't stuck in my head. Scott's head shot up again. "Wait, who's going to be the guy then?" Scott said eyeing Chase again.
"Well, umm I, uh I mean if you le-" Chase was interrupted.
"I'll do it." Adam said as he stepped forward towards Scott. I hid my face to hide my blush.
Chase just looked at Adam with his mouth open. He quickly maintained himself. "Uh yeah, I meant Adam can do it." He said. Corona just laughed which earned her a glare from her brother.
"What about me?" Patrick said as he stood up. "I want to be in the plan to get Xavier back!"
I just sighed and rolled my eyes. "No Patrick! I am doing this!" Adam yelled as he glared at Patrick.
"Ok then. All you had to do was say no." Patrick replied as he slumped back down on the couch. Adam just rolled his eyes at him.
"Ok, Adam is going to be Chloe's fake lover. Now what?" Scott asked.
"That's all." Chase said.
"THAT'S ALL? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT'S ALL!" Scott shouted.
"Don't you get it. When Xavier sees her with another guy he's going to flip. He's going to go crazy and it's going to hurt him. He's going to realise what he rejected and regret it." Chase explained.
Scott took time to process what Chase said. He nodded. "And this is why you are my beta." Scott said as he patted Chase on his shoulder. Chase just nodded his head. Scott walked towards the door but stopped and turned around and looked at all of us. "Start packing, tomorrow morning Xavier's a dead man." he said dangerously. We all looked at him and breathed in. "Just kidding, you know what I mean. We're leaving in the morning." And with that he walked out. We all breathed out in relief.
We all sat in silence. Rose got up first. "Well I'm going to go pack, see you later."
Peter watched her walk out and 3 minutes after she left he got up. "I'm going to go pack too." He said as he ran out of the room.
Patrick stood up after him. "Hey don't use all the suitcases, I need space for my gel and sneakers." He said as he chased after his twin who was most probably chasing after Rose.
Kelly stood up next and stretched her arms. "I'm going to go pack too. Don't worry Chloe, Xavier is going to regret it big time when he sees you tomorrow." She said coming up to me and hugging me before she left.
"Well I'm going to go pack my stuff and punch a wall or something." Corona said boredly as she got up and walked out of the room.
Adam, Chase and I just stared after her. Punch a wall? Oh this girl cracks me up and scares me at the same time.
"I should go check on my sister." Chase said as he followed Corona.
Now it was just Adam and I. For the first time, being alone with Adam felt awkward. Maybe it's because tomorrow we're going to act like we love each other. "I'm sorry if you didn't want to go through with this plan, it's just that I didn't want any other guy pretending to be in love with you." Adam said sincerely breaking the silence.
I seriously nearly said awe out loud and pinched his cheeks. That's how cute he is. "No, it's ok Adam. I want to do this plan and finally get Xavier back."
"Thank goodness, cause I don't think I'd be able to stand you hating me." he said. I just hugged him.
"Adam I can never hate you after everything you've done for me since Xavier's party." I told him and he just hugged me tighter.
After that we just sat and talked. He had one arm around me while I rested my head on his shoulder. It was relaxing. We sat and talked for two hours.
"Well, I'm going to go pack. We have a big day tomorrow Coco!" Adam said.
"Coco? Really Adam?" I asked.
"We'll work on the nicknames later." He just said as he kissed my cheek as he started to walk out.
"Yes we will Adam's apple!" I said coming up with a ugly nickname.
Adam stopped dead in his tack and turned to face me. "We are definitely working on our nicknames first thing tomorrow, but never ever call me that again Coco Chanel." He said smirking as I scrunched my face up in disgust. He stuck his tongue out at me and walked out of the room before I threw a book at his face.
Ughh now I got to come up with a cute nickname for Adam. Maybe I should call him Ada, nahhh too ugly and weird.
Adds, nahh too weird.
Dammy, nahh just plain yuk.
"A." nahh too pretty little liarery.
Ughhh who knew fake dating would be this hard. I'm just going to pack and wait for tomorrow for a brilliant name to come to me.
Ugh tomorrow. Tomorrow I meet Xavier again, oh goodie!
