Chapter 19
"GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF MY MATE!" the one and only Xavier screamed.
Luke and I immediately let go of each other and faced an enraged Xavier, and may I add a very sexy Xavier I thought. Xavier winked my way before turning his dagger stares towards Luke. Curse my weakness!
"Calm down Xavier." Luke said with venom. "She doesn't even want you, so you should really stop interfering with her life." he spat out.
Xavier took a deep inhale of breath as he heard what Luke said. "She's still my mate! I have a right to be in her life." he said. My wolf was on cloud 9 when she heard him.
"I agree you have a point there." Luke said with hatred. "But Chloe has a boyfriend and you have a pregnant fiancé!" Luke said.
Xavier looked at Luke weirdly and I sniggered. Luke raised his eyebrow at me, so I whispered "Fiancé is a future husband, so you just said he has a pregnant husband to be." Luke's eyes widen with shock.
He cleared his throat. "I mean you have a pregnant she wolf!" he corrected himself with a faint blush on his face. Xavier bowed his head down in shame. "Yeah that's right Xavier, you have a responsibility to look after, care and LOVE your child and your fian I mean mother of the child." Luke said. I must admit that cut me real deep.
"I KNOW! Ok I know I did something terrible and I regret it. If I had a chance to turn back time and undo my wrongs, I would've done it in a heartbeat but I can't! What else do you want me to do!?" Xavier said frustrated.
"Man up and accept what's happening! Leave Chloe alone, she's happy with Adam not you Xavier! When you rejected her and made her go through depression Adam was there to comfort her. Everything you have done has led up to this! You're the reason why Maya's pregnant and Chloe hates you! If you have just accepted Chloe as your mate and our Luna none of this would've happen and Chloe might've been the one pregnant not Maya! Since you didn't, leave Chloe and Adam to be!" Luke said staunching up to Xavier.
"You think Adam really loves Chloe!?" Xavier screamed in his face.
"I don't think, I know he does! And any other guy can love Chloe better than you!" Luke retorted. Continuing to yell at Xavier he said- "And I know that just sounded wrong but you know what I mean!"
"Is that so? The things I have seen say otherwise." Xavier said with a smirk and my gosh it was hot! Hot like a sunrise! Oh my gosh his smile makes me so cheesy in a not funny, weird way. Xavier snorted but returned a serious face towards Luke.
"And what things have you seen through your cruel ugly eyes oh great Alpha?" Luke said with venom.
"Just before I came here and caught you and Chloe hugging it up-" he said with anger running through him, "I caught your 'loving, faithful' boyfriend getting down and dirty with my sister." He said looking at me with an angry yet sympathetic facial.
Before Luke could reply to Xavier I beat him. "And why should I believe you?" I said looking for any sign of him lying to me.
"I know I have given you many reasons to not believe me, but I am telling you the truth. If you come with me now, you might even be able to see yourself." Xavier said while holding his hand out for me to hold.
I smiled at his gesture and he smiled back hopingly with his hand out extended for me. I walked up to him and held my hand out and his smile grew even bigger and brighter. "I'd rather stab myself in the stomach with a silver blade than to hold your hands anytime soon." And with that I shoved his hand away and started to walk towards the pack house. I could hear Luke laugh quietly and then stop when I assume Xavier gave him a hard glare.
When we got there I turned back around to Xavier with a bored facial expression. "So, where are they getting down and dirty at?" I said in a bored tone.
"Chloe you're wasting your time! He's probably lying again." Luke exasperated.
"They're in Elena's room." He said. I inhaled deeply, please Xavier be lying. Xavier gestured for us to walk first up the stairs.
Luke walked straight passed him and up the stairs and I followed. Luke turned back and said â"I can't wait to prove you wrong, dick!" Xavier growled at Luke and Luke continued to walk towards Elena's room. When we got there Xavier told us to be quiet as he did a duck and roll to get in front of us. What is this criminal minds? I thought and Xavier just gave me a look that told me I just ruined his vibe. I returned the favour and gave him the I don't care look so he continued on with his FBI moves.
He looked inside and smirked as he gestured for us to come. Luke turned to me and gave me a sympathetic look and I just nodded my head. "You go first Luke and tell me if what he says is right" I whispered. He nodded and crept quietly towards the door. He looked in and his eyes widened and jaw dropped, in other words he was shocked. Two minutes later he looked at me with a sad look, the look I was dreading, and the look that confirmed Xavier's story. That look was all I needed, I didn't need to look, well I didn't want to look because it would be Xavier rejecting me all over again. I fell to the ground with my head on my knees. Luke was beside me in an instant with one arm around me whispering reassuring things to me.
Xavier came and kneeled in front of me, but I didn't want to look at him so I kept my head on my knees. Luke must've felt awkward cause he kept whispering to me that Xavier has gone crazy as he's looking at him with a thirst. Yes he said Xavier's looking at him rather than me, the idiot. Xavier's presence was too overwhelming, my wolf was fighting me to look at him but I wouldn't let her.
Xavier , realising I wasn't going to look at him, tilted my chin up so I was face to face with him. Luke let out a sigh of relief as he whispered "He's not gay, he's not gay, he doesn't want me." That made me laugh and smile. I looked over at Luke and laughed again, he was sitting there with one hand on his head as he was breathing quickly. I just shook my head at him as I smiled.
I must've forgotten about Xavier as he started to caress my right cheek with his other hand still under my chin. I looked at him and he was just admiring me. A faint blush appeared on my face as I tried to move his hands away from me. "You're so beautiful." Xavier whispered, I blushed even more. My heart was racing as my mind went blank and all I could think of was Xavier. If it wasn't for Luke and his sighs of relief I would've given in and kissed the crap out Xavier.
"Tell me something I don't know." And with that being said I pushed Xaviers hands off of me and stood up.
Just as I got up, Adam was walking out of Elena's room putting his shirt on with a big bright smile on his face; I got to admit that hurt a little. As soon as he saw me that smile was wiped off his face and replaced with a look of shock and sadness. The funny thing was that he didn't look like he regretted it which hurt me even more. Ok so it's like that now Adam! I see how it is! Dick! I said in my head. "Chloe, I I I can explain." He said as I looked at him shocked and still he didn't look like he regretted what he just did. Okay so is it me or does it seem like he might've just found his mate.
"Adam! Wait! You forgot your phone." Elena yelled from her room as she ran out in an oversized shirt. It's so clear they just did it! When she saw us she had a faint blush on her cheeks, but then she saw me and it looked like she got her Bitch mode activated. She gave me the evils as she ran in front of Adam in a protective stance, shielding him from me. "Mine!" she angrily whispered. Yep, he just found his mate. It just had to be her. Why! Why couldn't it be crystal? Out of all people it just had to be Elena.
I looked taken back and it took me a while to register everything that just happened. "Wait hold up, are you two are you two ma mates?" I asked still trying to take in what happened. Adam nodded his head with no expression on his face. I didn't say anything, well I couldn't say anything. What was I meant to say, 'Oh congratulations on finding your mate I betcha she's wonderful and kind, oh wait no she's not, she's an envious bitch who ruined my life! oh wait you already knew that haha my bad, or 'You're mates a real bitch....like seriously she's a female dog.' That would surely piss Elena off and Adam would most probably hate me cause that 'envious bitch' is his mate! ughh why do all the good people get paired up with arrogant partners! Like Xavier and I, and now Adam and Elena. I snapped out of my thoughts as Xavier cleared his throats. Damn he probably read my thoughts; gosh he probably has a big head now, thinking his psychic, reading my thoughts and that. He cleared his throat again and I just glared at him. I turned back to Elena and Adam. "When did you find out?" I asked feeling a little hurt.
"After you two had the fight." Adam said kind of ashamed yet angry.
"Oh." I said feeling kind of embarrassed.
"Yeah oh." Elena said with snotty attitude.
"Listen here Elena." I said in distaste, as I walked towards her so we were face to face. Adam begged me to stop through our pack mind link and I apologised to him before I continued on Elena. "Just because you're Adam's mate, doesn't mean I'm going to take your attitude. I'm not that Chloe that's life was so easy to ruin. It's going to take more than being my ex-boyfriends mate to ruin me. "I said giving her the most attitude I had ever given anyone.
"No, Chloe you listen here." Elena said with a smirk. "I am still the alpha's sister. You will not disrespect me. I am higher than you, you will show me some respect!" she said pushing my shoulder. "Let's just hope we don't have a round two, cause next time I'll definitely enjoy ripping your throat out." She said with an evil smirk. Adam looked taken back and Xavier growled angrily.
"I don't know who you're trying to convince Elena. You had the opportunity to rip my throat out but you didn't because I stopped you, cause I'm stronger than you and smarter. As for that little speech about who's higher than who on the hierarchy board, there's something you should know. The theta-nu-theta pack is MY family's pack. The Alpha, Scott, yeah his my cousin, but the alpha position is really Corey's as my father was meant to be alpha of the pack but made his decision to join you're pack and be with my mother. So looks like I'm an alpha's sister too. Face it Elena you have nothing on me. I'd like to see, wait actually no, I'd love to see the day where you rip my throat out, cause I'm pretty sure it will never ever happen. You should show me some respect before I rip your heart out." I threatened as I shoved her back. "Don't even think about it Adam!" I said sternly as Adam looked like he was ready to tear me from limb to limb. Looks like I do have alpha genes in me as he stopped.
"So, Luke do you believe me now?" Xavier said in a victorious tone.
"No." Luke said in a bored tone as he walked towards me.
"NO? what do you mean no, you saw with your own two eyes!" he screamed out completely bewildered.
We all ignored him as I looked at Adam. "You know, it wouldn't hurt to tell me you two were mates before you went and mated with her." He looked like he was going to say something but I didn't let him. "I always told you, your mate is out there somewhere and when you find her I'll be so happy for you, no matter who she is. I don't care if your mate is Elena." There was a good awkward two minutes. "Ok so maybe I do care that it's her." Everyone just nodded their head in agreement. "But that doesn't mean that I won't be happy for you. Adam you're one of my close friends. If Elena is your mate then I'd learn to accept and deal with it, but just going behind my back while we were still going out and mating with her, that actually hurts. So thanks Adam, thanks for going behind my back and mating with the girl who ruined my life." I didn't let him reply. "Come on Luke, lets go." I said and with that Luke and I walked back to my house.
"Chloe, hold on." Xavier said running up towards Luke and I.
I turned around, fed up with everything. "Look Xavier! If I wanted you here I would've told you to come but I didn't ok, I only wanted Luke."
"I just wanted to see if you're alright." He said sympathetically.
"Yes Xavier, cause I'm really going to be alright with my boyfriend finding his soul mate who also happens to be the reason why my life was ruined. Do you even logic?" I said which Luke laughed to. "Look if you're here to say I told you so then get lost ok, I don't want to deal with this right now."
"Look I'm sorry you had to find out like this, but I only told you cause I care about you Chloe. I care about you." He said trying to reason with me. "I know you're hurting, just let me comfort you, let me make up for before, let me be the mate you deserve." He begged.
"Are you seriously saying this to me right now? My boyfriend just found his soulmate, who also happens to be the person who ruined my life! unlike you he accepted his mate and now their happily together, leaving me totally and utterly alone. All of this wouldn't of have happened if you just accepted me that day! So this is your fault Xavier! You're not going to get me that easy!" I said exasperated.
"Does that mean I have a chance of getting you back?" He asked full of hope with a bright smile on his face.
"Look Xavier it's late and I really need to get going." And with that being said Luke and I continued to walk back to my home.
When we got there everyone was in the lounge waiting.
"Where were you?!" My parents, Corey and Corona yelled.
"At the pack house ok, please it's late and I really don't want to deal with yous as well."
They all had a sympathetic face and nodded. Luke stayed and slept in the lounge since Corey didn't want him sleeping in his room. Corey's actual words being 'I'd rather be a donkey's ass than let you sleep in the same room as me.' yes his real creative ain't he?
And because Stiles would've killed him. His actual words were 'walk up one of those steps towards her room and I'll rip you to shreds without blinking.' Yeah his real protective ain't he? Corey just high fived him as he patted his head and said "that's my nephew." I just rolled my eyes at them.
Corona and I went to my room and before I fell asleep corona interrupted. "What happened?" she questioned me.
Wanting to not bring up the whole Adam Elena mate thing I changed the subject. "Does Scott even know you're here, we're meant to be at the pack house." I said hoping she would just get distracted.
"So what really happened?" Corona repeated herself, emphasizing on the really part.
I just sighed, giving up. "Nothing happened, just the usual with Xavier." I said trying to convince her nothing happened.
"I'm not stupid Chloe, I heard you through our pack mind link. It sounded like you and Adam were having an argument. So what happened?" Corona said sounding concerned. I stayed quiet. "Yeah I'm not going to let you fall asleep until you tell me."
"Elena-" as I said her name Corona went off her head.
"I knew it! What did she do now? Tell me right now! I will walk back to that pack house right now." She threatened.
"No! Corona, promise you won't lay a hand on her." I said sitting up and looking at her.
She held her hands up in surrender. "I promise Chloe, I promise I won't lay a hand on her." She said and I just nodded my head. "I might lay a foot or something might leave my hand and hit her in the face, but I promise I wont lay a hand on her." She said smugly, getting ready to walk out before I stopped her.
"No! look Elena is Adam's mate." I said in a defeated tone. I sighed and walked back to my bed and sat down. "There mates ok." I said sadly as I lied down on my bed irritated.
"Whoa!" was all Corona said and I just nodded. "I guess now is the wrong time to tell you Luke is my mate."
There was a low growl that came from outside the door. I looked at Corona and she just shrugged, I went to go check but nobody was there. I just shut the door and walked back to my bed confused.
I looked Corona dead in the face trying to see if she was being serious as I remember what she just told me. She was! I ran and jumped on her and hugged her. This tomboy has finally found her soul mate! She can actually feel something in that heart of hers. "I'm so happy for you Corona!" I said hugging her tighter.
Corona laughed and pushed me off of her. "I'm just joking! Luke's not my mate." she said laughing her head off. I glared at her and she laughed louder.
"Why would you say that?" I said annoyed.
"To get you to smile and get your mind off of Adam. You have to admit it worked though." She said as she laughed and mocked me. I just threw a pillow at her and went to sleep.
Tomorrow I'll deal with everything! Ughh Life sucks!!!
