Chapter 26: Part 2
Scott's P.O.V
I couldn't believe what I had just heard! Judging by the look on Corey's face, he couldn't either.
Corey looked at her awestruck and completely amazed. I was too. So many thoughts were racing through my mind, some of them being about how beautiful she was... ok most of them were about how insanely beautiful she was.
There was just something about her that made me completely delirious. Maybe it was how she held herself together with confidence, how she was fierce, strong and had this alluring aura surrounding her . Even Corey couldn't get out of her hold.
But than again she is an Enchantress...
Enchantress's are known to be compelling and beautiful. I once read about them in my father's library.
Like witches, they have many powers,( though witches are really ugly, old hags) an enchantress's most powerful weapon is definitely their power of seduction.
It definitely explains why I can't take my eyes off of her. I instantly shake the thought out of my head and try to remind myself about why we're here and why we can't trust her.
Although they may seem harmless, their personalities are wicked and they are able to seduce a man into doing anything and everything she asks. They love attention and are easily jealous.
We can't let her get the best of us. I won't let her control me.
Looking over at Corey I wonder if he even knows what an enchantress is, but obviously he was too caught up in her compelling power that he couldn't even look at me.
Suddenly Loriann's voice broke the silence "We're here"
"Here? Where's here?" Corey said looking around confused. I was too. We were still in the forest, standing in a clearing with trees being the only thing that surrounded us.
Loriann stepped forward and raised her right hand, waving it around once and suddenly, like unveiling a masterpiece, a large worn out building with brown double doors appeared.
Trying not to freak out and ignoring the fact that Loriann was able to hide a massive two story house in the middle of the woods, I turned towards her for further instructions.
Honestly I had no idea what to do now that i was actually going to be face-to-face with jebadiah stone. I didn't plan this far.
"I don't think he'll help you but he should be right through there" she nodded her head towards the double doors that either leads to our salvation or our doom.
"Don't look so scared. He isn't going to kill you... well that is if you choose your words wisely" Loriann added with a smirk.
I couldn't stop looking at her mouth, but I had to, her eyes sparkled with something along the lines of mischief and something else.
I don't know if we should trust her.
She looks like she's hiding something.
"You're not coming with us?" Corey asked her, giving her a suspicious look that makes me think he isn't as stupid as he seems.
"Nope" she said as she took a step backwards while shaking her head.
"You guys wanted to see him and I brought you too him. My job here is done"
"Wait!" I called out to her just as she was turning away to leave.
"How do we know if we can trust you?!"
She froze. With her back to us, she clenched her hands into fists and said "trust me? Who said anything about trust? You wanted to be here so I brought you here. You asked for my help! You don't need to trust me. Trust your own judgment. I'm outta here"
My eyes followed her every move until she was completely hidden in the trees. A part of me felt guilty. Maybe I judged her too quickly? But another part of me feels unsafe around her. It was unnerving.
"So what do we do now?" Corey asked "should we go inside?"
I thought about all the possibilities that could happen, some thing good could come out of this or something really scary. Before I could turn around and change my mind, I stepped forward pushing the door open and i walked inside.
I don't know what I was expecting to find inside. The house looked completely ordinary to me. The whole house was wooden and although it looked a little run down, the house didn't seem like it was about to fall apart any second, so I deemed us safe for now.
Corey stepped inside and had a look at his surroundings. He pointed at me, and then himself, before waving his finger around indicating that we should split up and have a look around.
Nodding, I turned to the left while Corey moved to the right and we both started looking around for any signs that Jebadiah could be here.
As I moved through the left side of the house, I couldn't find a hallway that could lead to other rooms or anything useful, but it did lead to one room though. A living room with outdated furniture, a tall bookshelf and a dusty fire place.
I noticed a few things too.
There were photographs in frames, photographs of children, most of them being photos of a little girl with bright green eyes smiling cheekily at the camera, there was also a few family portraits.
I wonder which one was Jeb.
As I was looking more closely at the family portrait, I hear Corey calling my name from the other room. So I turn around and make my way back to the front foyer and see him standing there with his back to me.
"Corey? What? What is it? " he turned around to face me and pointed to the window he was just starring out of.
"He's outside..." Corey gulped nervously as he nodded towards the window.
I stepped closer towards the window, and than I saw him.
His back was to us but you could clearly tell that there was a man standing in what seems to be a garden, but not just any garden, but like a picture perfect one that could only be found in magazines complete with a glass green house.
I turn to Corey and ask if he had seen a backdoor that could lead to the garden which he nodded to.
When we found our way to the garden, Jebadiah addressed us without even turning around.
"I see you've made quite the journey to find me. How can I help you ?"
"My name is Scott Maka, you might know my father, Sione Gabriel Maka. He helped you a while ago and you promised that you will return the favor. Well... he's using his favor now. He wants you to help me."
He turned around to face Corey and I and when I could finally see his face I realised that he was smirking. I knew this felt too easy.
"I know who you are and why you're here, but my question was how can I help you"
"We need you to get rid of our problem." Corey ended up saying as I stood there eyeing Jebadiah out, with Loriann's words ringing in my ears. 'He isn't going to kill you... well that is if you choose your words wisely.'
"And by problem, you mean Hunter." Jebadiah states as he observes an odd plant that had purple little flowers springing out of it.
"How did you kn-" Corey began to say before i stopped him.
"Yes." I replied, hitting Corey. We can't waste time.
"Interesting." Was all Jebadiah said as he picked one of the small purple flowers off of the plant.
"may I ask why?"
We all stood there in silence for a few seconds before I told him. "He killed my sister"
"Your sister? For what reason?" Jebadiah sounded surprised
"No reason whatsoever. He just killed her in cold blood" after saying all that I felt like i couldn't speak anymore, like my throat was closing up and a heavy rock was sitting on my chest.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, i looked up at the man in front of me as he murmured to himself "that's strange"
Corey and I watched Jebadiah as he toyed with the flower in his hands as we waited for him to say anything else.
"Scott we're wasting our time, this dude can't help us." Corey spoke, breaking the silence as he turned around to walk out, dragging me with him.
"From dust we are made, to dust we shall return, but be there one, one who shall not return. Bound by blood and raised by the moon." Jebadiah says as we immediately came to a halt and turned towards him.
He faces us, with the purple flower still in his hand. "Correct me if I'm wrong. You two wish for me to kill that which is already dead."
Dead? Corey and I had our suspicions, but right now Jebadiah just confirmed that Hunter is in fact a vampire.
Nodding my head I asked the most important question. "So, will you help us?"
Stepping closer towards us, he held his hands behind his back and told us, "well that depends, I can't exactly kill him but maybe i can help you with something else. But first I must know about your sister. What was her name? Did she have a mate?"
I was about to answer him when Corey said "Whoa what do you mean you can't exactly kill him? I thought you were the most feared person on earth! So can you or CAN'T you kill the vampire?!"
"You see killing the dead is not that simple." He replied looking directly at Corey. "I mean after all, they are already dead, are they not?" He asked. He was messing with Corey's mind. I could see it.
Corey had a puzzled look on his face. "However it is possible. With the right ingredients of course." He said holding the purple flower in his hand before he squashed it in his palm. "Funny thing, how one tiny substance can do a lot of damage." He says as he observes the small puddle of purple in his palm.
"Enough." Corey yells. "There is a psycho vampire, who I thought was a werewolf, with an ironic name, since he is after all, a hunter, which doesn't really matter right now because there are more important things at hand." Corey babbled on. "Man, what was i talking about again?" Corey asked, as he confused himself.
"There is a psycho vampire, who you thought was a werewolf named Hunter." Jebadiah said, his tone drenched in amusement.
"I don't have time for this!" I said, stepping forward. "Hunter took Sandra away from me, i won't let him take Chloe too." My fists clenched by my side as i took another step toward Jebadiah. "You're the only hope i have in saving my cousin, so I'm begging you please, do whatever you must to save my cousin."
"Sandra." Jebadiah says as he squints his eyes. For a few seconds he remained quiet. "Sandra. Of course! Now I understand. The Gilbert boy's mate."
"What are you talking about?" I questioned. "Sandra wasn't Xavier's mate.. Sandra never found her mate."
"Wait so hunter killed your sister, but she wasn't the Gilbert boy's mate? Are you sure she didn't tell you that she found her mate?"
What the hell is this guy on about? I just told him that hunter killed my sister for no reason, and what the hell does this have to do with Xavier Gilbert?
Shaking my head "You're mistaken" I tell him " if Sandra found her mate she would have told me! And even if she didn't tell me, there is no way that it could be Xavier."
"How could you be so sure?" He asked in amusement
"Because" Corey said with confidence as he stepped forward "Unfortunately the Gilbert boy's mate is my sister, Chloe Maka"
A few seconds of silence pass before jebadiah started laughing. But not like an evil laugh, but the rolling on the floor, funniest thing I've ever heard, kind of laugh.
Corey took a step back and stood beside me so he could whisper in my ear "I think he's crazy... he's the one who needs help, maybe we should just leave"
I was thinking the same thing and just as i was about to accept the fact that maybe coming here was a mistake, Jebadiah sobered up and wiped a remaining tear from his eyes.
"I think I've finally understood what needs to be done. Oh that clever little dog"
He was speaking more to himself than to us and just as I was about to ask him what the hell he was on about, he continued talking.
"You say that Sandra is dead?" He says walking around Corey and I in circles. I only nod as I couldn't bring myself to say something.
"What if i told you she was in fact alive?"
"Then i'd say you're a liar and that Corey and I are leaving. Hunter murdered my sister in front of me!"
"Things as clear as a crystal can also be extremely deceiving." He said calmly as he still circled around Corey and I. Man he was making me feel dizzy. "You see, hunter has made a big mistake. But I can tell you now, that your sister is in fact alive ." He continued.
"Prove it. Show me." I growled as I grabbed Jebadiah by his arm and looked him straight in my eyes. Family is one thing not to mess around with, especially when it comes to my twin.
"I would. However there is one problem." He replied flicking my hand off of him. "I only owe you one favor, yet it seems like you're asking me for two." He said looking at me.
"Usually I don't help people from the goodness of my heart. My help always comes at a price. Your lucky I owe your father a favor, but if you want my help with something else, than you better be willing to pay the price"
Just as I was starting to fill with hope, I instantly felt the weight of his last words. And I could definitely hear the meaning springing in between the lines but I tried to play dumb.
"How much do you want?"
Shaking his head, he said exactly what I knew he would say.
"Your money does nothing for me, how about we make a deal." I hate it when I'm right.
I don't trust this guy so I'm not about to jump into any deals with him just yet. I don't even know if he is telling the truth about Sandra.
"Give me proof that my sister is alive first!"
Corey grabbed my arm and forced me to face him, with a pleading look he said "DON'T trust him Scott! He's crazy, we can't trust him. He isn't going to help us, he's just going to trick ahhss...---"
I watched in shock as a cloud of purple smoke flew into Corey's face and his eyes rolled to the back of his head and his body dropped to the floor.
I turned to Jebadiah with accusing eyes and sure enough there he was. He was a step away from us with his palm, which just a few seconds ago contained the purple remains of the squashed flower, stretched out and now empty.
"What the hell was that for? What did you do!?" My body was shaking in anger. What the hell was that flower and what did it do to Corey.
Jebadiah pulled a cloth from his pocket and began wiping his hands as he said "He was getting rather annoying, don't you think?"
When jebadiah saw that i wasn't amused and was shooting a glare his way, he rolled his eyes. "Relax" was all he said.
I crouched down by Corey's side and immediately placed two fingers on his neck. I was relieved when i felt a weak yet stable beat. "What did you do to him?" I asked once more.
"Don't worry, he's not dead...yet." He said, walking back to the plant he used to knock Corey out.
"Not dead yet!" I yelled, my voice echoing through the garden. "WHAT DID YOU DO!"
"He was irritating me. Relax will you? All this flower does is simply put you under a sleeping spell. The amount that he consumed is completely harmless. He will only be unconscious for a few minutes. If i had used more, then you should worry, but i didn't, so as i said before. Relax, your friend will be fine." He told me sternly before he slowly paced back and forth, stroking his chin.
"Now, You came here for a favor, one that I owe you, and truly so. I am a man of my word." Jebadiah stated as he turned to face me.
"I'm not choosing until you tell me more about my sister!" I said interrupting him.
Jebadiah looked amused as he said "Fine. Let me tell you a story. The man you know as hunter wasn't always the man he is today. In fact his name wasn't even hunter, his real name was keegan Sheppard."
"Many years ago, keegan was just like any other hard working man, until he got turned into a vampire.
The following years were hard but he managed, with the help of a werewolf named Theodore Gilbert. Although they grew close, the relationship between vampires and werewolves was tense, but they made plans to change that."
I stayed silent the whole time, not understanding why he was telling me this and what it has to do with my sister. But it's not like I could tell him to hurry and get to the point, there was a legitimate reason for people to fear this guy. So I let him continue.
"Keegan and Theo had plans to bring the two species together, to join forces and create peace between the Waring groups. It was a brilliant thought but also very stupid. You cannot force people into being peaceful, especially when they don't want to be."
At this thought, jebadiah shook his head as if it was the stupidest idea.
"When Keegan met a girl named Delilah, his whole world shifted and he fell in love. Theo didn't like the thought of Keegan being with someone who could distract him from what they have been working on for years. So he did the thing he thought was necessary. He eliminated the threat."
"You mean he killed her" it wasn't a question. I felt a shudder roll down my back at the image of Xavier's ancestor killing someone so innocent.
"Yes. Keegan was heartbroken. And he wanted revenge. When Theo found his mate, Keegan couldn't stand the fact that he had lost his love while the man who took it away in the first place got to live his happily ever after. So he killed Theo's mate."
"You see this is how Keegan got the name Hunter, the day that Theo found his mate, he swore that he shall make every Gilbert suffer. He swore to kill the mate of every Gilbert man because selfishness runs deep in their blood and he wants to make them suffer for what they took from him. He became a Hunter."
"He came to me and asked for my help and of course with the exchange of a deal, I helped him.
You see Hunter needed a way to keep the bloodline growing while at the same time killing their mates, so i gave him a ring that when you mention the name of a female wolf, it shines black if she is with child. This way, he waits until the female has had her child before killing her in cold blood."
"Wait! You let him do all that! Are you insane? Why would you help that psycho kill innocent people?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing from this guy.
"I don't care what he does in his time. He kept his end of the deal and that's all I care about" jebadiah told me honestly. I think I'm going to be sick.
"I remember when Hunter came to me about a problem he had. You see when he mentioned the name of Xavier Gilbert's mate, the ring shined black, a few months passed and she hadn't had the baby. He was frustrated to know why the pregnancy was taking longer than any other normal werewolf pregnancy. When he was becoming too impatient, I suggested that he just kill her and the baby but unfortunately he still had a voice in his head telling him that doing that would be unethical, he didn't have the guts to kill her and her innocent baby but he really wanted to make that Gilbert boy suffer.
So instead, he faked the death of Xavier's 'mate' Sandra and kept her hidden until she has her baby. After she has her child, he shall kill her for real."
"That makes no sense... Sandra wasn't pregnant. She wasn't like that. She wanted nothing more than to save herself for her mate"
Even after everything that jebadiah just told me, two things didn't add up.
1. Why would Hunter.. uh Keegan whatever his name is, what made him think that Sandra was Xavier's mate?
2. Why did the ring shine black if Sandra wasn't pregnant? She hadn't even found her mate.
I voiced my questions out loud which made jebadiah lower his head in thought. "Well.. I have my theories"
I was too afraid to ask anymore questions, all this information was giving me a headache. Dark thoughts of the terrible things that could have happened to my sister filled my mind as I'm only half listening to what jebadiah is telling me.
"My first Theory is that the Gilbert boy knew about the fate of his mate and thought he could trick Hunter into thinking he killed the right person. For that he must have had to indicate that your sister was his mate."
"What!" I said stopping Jebadiah from saying anything else. "Xavier set my sis-"
"My story is not yet finished." Jebadiah replies calmly, yet the irritation in his voice was crystal clear. Remembering that there was chance Jebadiah might kill me, I stopped and let him continue.
"When Hunter first went to find Sandra, he said her name and the ring turned black, meaning that she was pregnant. He waited six months and went back to check on her. He saw that she hadn't had the baby and her baby bump didn't look like she was about give birth anytime soon, so he repeated her name. The ring turned black again, so she was still pregnant, which is highly unusual for a werewolf since pregnancy only lasts 6 months for shewolves. So the only possible theory is that Sandra, your sister, was mated to a human."
"That's impossible! Werewolves can't have a human as a mate." I replied, interrupting him again. He gave me a look telling me to watch my mouth.
"It is possible, it's just extremely rare." Jebadiah corrects me. "So my conclusion is that Sandra's mate was a human. That is why her pregnancy cycle was abnormal and undetectable."
I was mind blown. My twin found her mate. Her mate was a human. He and her mated. They did the birds and the bees. My sister. With a man. Birds and the bees. I thought to myself, as i felt myself getting angrier by the minute.
"And she got pregnant." Jebadiah added in amusement to which i glared at him. "Now that we have gotten past that, it is time for me to pay my debt" He said with a serious face as he dusted his coat off.
I nodded my head. "So which will it be? Get rid of Hunter, or reunite with your sister?" He said placing each hands out as he read out my options.
"Just know that either one you choose, will have consequences. If you choose to get rid of Hunter, you will save your cousins life." He told me, which was the reason why Corey and I came here in the first place.
"But if you do that, you won't find your sister." He said, which made my heart sink.
If my sister is alive, I NEED to see her.
"And If you decide to find your sister, you're family would be complete. You'd have your sister back. Isn't that what you truly want?" He asked with an intrigued tone of voice.
He was right though. I just want my sister back. But what about Chloe? Could I really do this to her? To come here to save her and instead save my sister?
"However." Jebadiah continued, interrupting my deep thought.
"You could do both.."
Was this a trick? I could only ask for one favour. Is it possible that I could save two of the most important people in my life? Nahh this seems too easy.
"What's the catch?"
Smiling knowingly he said "I told you that my help comes with a price. You could save your sister but if you want to save your cousin then we're going to have to make a deal"
Swallowing the vomit that was creeping up my throat, I asked the dreaded question "what do I have to do?"
The knowing smile didn't leave his face as he shrugged his shoulders as he told me "all in good time. When I decide how you could repay me, you will pay the debt you owe"
"FINE! Just get me to my sister!"
What have i done? Did I make the right choice making a deal with the devil? I love Chloe as if she were my own sister, and Sandra, my actual sister! There was no doubt that I made the right choice.
If there's a possibility that she is alive, i have to take it, no matter the consequences.
I looked towards Corey, i'm sure if he was conscious he would make the same choice.
I turned back to Jebadiah who went back to observing the plant
"Show me my sister." I said, looking at the ground, hoping that I don't regret this decision.
"Very well." Jedabdiah says as a rush of wind blew past me. I looked up and similarly to Loriann, Jebadiah waved his hand around the plant and I watched in amazement as I saw the plant morph.
Tiny pieces of the leaves and flowers began to levitate and float around where the plant stood. The clouds came crashing in as the wind howled.
The wind became louder as the breeze became harder. Corey's eyes began to twitch as he moved slowly on the floor.
"Where am I?" He groans, rubbing the back of his head. Out of nowhere, lighting struck where the plant was.
"Arghhhhhh!" Corey yelled as he shot up with his fists bawled in front of him.
"What the hell is happening?" He yells, turning around in circles.
It seemed as if Judgement day had arrived. I pointed towards Jebadiah who turned around with a smirk. He moved to the side allowing us to look at the plant, which wasn't there anymore.
Where the purple plant once was, in its place now is a swirling pool of purple.
"GO RIGHT THROUGH THERE. IN THERE IS WHERE YOU'LL FIND YOUR SISTER" jebadiah yelled over the howling wind.
Corey turned to me with confusion, "what the hell did i miss?"
"Nothing, just trust me. Lets go get my sister" Corey didn't need to know about the deal. It's my debt to pay and he shouldn't have to worry about it and knowing Corey, he would feel incredibly guilty if he knew what I did or I guess what I'm going to do to save his sister.
Nodding my head towards the swirling portal, I jumped in and felt Corey jump in after me. It felt as if we had been descending for quite some time before we were finally on the ground again.
We landed on our backs with a groan,
"Great, first the enchantress, then the hidden cottage, the crazy dude and now this, a fricken portal." Corey complained as he stood up rubbing his back.
We both looked around, it was completely empty, it was like an endless room of nothing. "And now we're trapped. I told you we couldn't trust the guy. He's crazy!" Corey whinged even more.
I was starting to believe that Jebadiah set us up, until a bright light appeared. I squinted my eyes as I looked further down and saw a distant figure running towards us.
I could hear distant yelling, like we were under water and I couldn't make out what that voice was saying.
As the figure got closer, it was like coming up for air. My heart sank. It couldn't be.
Sandra.
"Scott? SCOTT!" She yelled, running up to me and crushing me in a bear hug.
"Sandra." I found myself whispering. It took me a while to process everything that happened before I wrapped my arms around her. Tears fell freely from my eyes. How is this possible?
"How is any of this possible?" I finally asked. I mean i'm glad to have my sister back, but how? She was killed in front of me.
"You only thought that Hunter killed your sister because he wanted you too. You remember that plant that I used to knockout your friend, well all it did was put him to sleep but if I had used anymore, it would have put not only his body but his heart to sleep. There would be no heart beat. It would be as if he were dead. That is how Hunter faked her death." I hadn't even noticed that Jebadiah was also here.
At the mention of Hunters name, Sandra started shaking her head in confusion, "Wait! How do you know Hunter?" She wrapped her arms around her stomach protectivly and that's when I saw the growing bump that I had failed to notice months ago.
Ignoring her question I wrapped my arms around her and didn't want to ever let go again. I was scared that if I did, I'd never see her again.
"Seems as if my work here is done." Jebadiah said as he turned to walk off.
"WAIT!" Corey yelled. Jebadiah stopped in his tracks, but didn't turn to face him. "Does this mean that Hunter is dead?" He asked.
Everyone remained silent. Corey looked back and forth between Jebadiah and I. "Scott?" He asked looking directly at me. I couldn't bear to look at him. He's going to be so angry.
"One of you better tell me that while I was knocked out, thanks to SOMEONE-" Corey said glaring at Jebadiah, "you guys figured out a way to get rid of Hunter." He finished. I remained silent. What was I suppose to tell him? Definitely not the truth.
"Don't worry, jebadiah is going to help us with that problem but for now lets get my sister home" I really did miss my twin.
"What do you mean don't worry? This is my sister we're talking about! I always worry about her. Did you really sell my sister out for yours? I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!" Corey didn't even give me a chance to explain anything before he stormed off.
I was about to go after Corey to explain everything, when Jebadiah's voice Stopped me.
"I wouldn't worry about him." Jebadiah said walking towards Sandra and I.
I gave him a questionable look and so he continued.
"The house is cloaked. You needed magic to get in, therefore you need magic to get out. He's practically walking around in circles." I looked at Sandra and she returned the favor with the same stare. "So since my business here is finished, do you two wish to leave?" He asked.
I looked towards Sandra. Her face lit up when Jebadiah mentioned the word 'leave.' Although i was glad to see her happy, my heart hurt a little, thinking of what she had been through being stuck down here, while i was out there living.
"I'll take this silent brother and sister moment as a yes." Jebadiah says, breaking me out of my thoughts as he raised his hand in the air.
"Wait!" I screamed, before he could use his magic to let us out. "I can't just leave Corey." I told him as i sighed. Today has been a long day, and i don't think i have it in me to deal with him right now, but i have too.
"But why?" Jebadiah says, sounding quite surprised. "I would've left him. He was getting on my nerves."
"No matter how annoying he is, he's still my family. And nothing is more important than family." I said as i slung my arm over Sandra's shoulder. I still couldn't believe that my sister was alive.
Rolling his eyes, Jebadiah just shrugged his shoulder. "If that's what you want, then feel free to find him. It's such a big place. Might take you a while." He said as he walked off. "But just know, I've already done my part. I'll be leaving in 10 minutes, whether you find him in time or not, that's not my problem." Was the last words he said before he vanished into thin air.
I looked back at Sandra. "Come on, lets go find our stubborn little cousin." I said as we began to search around for him.
After what seemed like hours of walking and seeing no sight of Corey, I was on the verge of giving up.
"He really wasn't lying." I said.
"This place is huge. We're not going to find him in time." I sighed out in frustration as I sat down.
I was tired and wanted nothing more than to go back to the pack house and rest.
"I should make another deal with Jebadiah in exchange for him to use his magic and bring Corey to us." I contemplated.
Sandra just shook her head in amusement. "I don't think that's a good idea. You haven't changed a bit. You're still lazy." She says as she lightly pats my shoulder.
"But you have." I replied, pointing at her baby bump. I can't believe she never told me.
"Scott, I was going to tell you-" Before she could finish we heard footsteps approaching us.
"Stupid Scott, stupid house, stupid magic, I just want to get out of this stupid place and go back to my sister, to protect her from Hunter, because he's fricken STUPID!"
I got up, knowing it was Corey even though I couldn't see him that well. This house is really weird. "Corey." I called out.
Corey stopped his little tantrum as he looked towards us. As he got closer he looked confused. "What the hell!" He yelled as he looked around.
"How am I back here?" He asked. "I was outside the front gate just a second ago." He said rubbing his forehead.
"We need magic to get out." I told him.
"Of course we need magic." Corey sarcastically retorted as he rolled his eyes.
"Corey. Please just calm down and listen to me for a second. I promise I didn't sell out your sister. I promise to save her and I'll explain everything later because right now we only have 3 minutes until our ticket home leaves us here" I told him in a rush. I hope we find Jebadiah in the place soon since It took us ages just to find Corey.
Surprisingly, Corey didn't argue as he nodded and made me promise to explain everything to him once we get out of here.
"Okay. Let's go find this guy" the next step I took felt so light, Like I was floating on air. Is this what the saying Cloud 9 felt like?
It's as if I'm finally complete. I have my sister back, I found my cousin in time and I don't think he hates me, and we're about to go home. Together.
