Chapter 5:
I had a quick shower so that I could curl my hair. I wore a short black floral dress with red heels.

I topped it off with a colourful necklace and applied a little mascara and red lipstick.
I walked out of my bathroom and what I saw blew me away. There standing in front of me was Crystal.
I was right she did look good in black. The dress showed all the curves I thought she never had. Her hair was let down instead of being up in a ponytail or a messy bun. "Well there goes my self esteem!" I shouted and Crystal just looked at me as if I had two heads.
"What do you mean?" She asked nervously while playing with the bottom of the dress trying to make it longer.
"You look so hot! You should walk around the house like that" I pointed from her head to her toe. "And maybe people would love your company cause dayum girl."
"You really think so?" she asked.
"Trust me Crystal you are flawless!" I said grabbing her hand and spinning her around. I stopped spinning her around and she started looking at me, her eyes bulged open and her jaws dropped. "What?! is there a spider on me!!?" I shouted jumping up and down looking like a complete lunatic.
Crystal grabbed my arms and shook me. "There's no spider on you!"
I closed my eyes and inhaled slowly. "What? then why we're you staring like that! I could've had a heart attack!" I shouted clutching my chest.
"I was staring, because you look incredibly amazing!!Man I knew you were pretty but wow I'm speechless. Xavier is a complete idiot to give you up. He is sure going to regret it tonight." She said looking me up and down and smiling.
"Well that's the plan." I sang while twirling around.
(At the party)
Crystal and I walked inside and it was packed. There was never a time we weren't stopped or harassed by hormonal teenagers grinding on us. During the time we were trying to get through Crystal got lost in the crowd. After shouting her name out hundreds of time, I gave up and started to dance. The song 'Don't you worry child' by Swedish House Mafia came on and I immediately grabbed a random person and started dancing. He obviously wasn't from this pack since he didn't pull away.
"Don't you worry, don't you worry child see heavens got a plan for you, don't you worry, don't you worry now yeah!" I shouted with the guy as we moved our bodies together not caring about anything in the world and I got to say he was hot. The song stopped and I immediately left the guy standing there alone. I didn't want to lead him on and besides what would the outcome be if I were to become friends with him, it's not like I can date him since he has a mate somewhere out there waiting for him.
I squeezed through the people looking for Corey, Crystal or Luke. I went upstairs to Luke's room since he lives here in the pack house. I knocked on the door and heard a low muffle. I took this as a 'come in' since Luke always makes an abnormal sound when he can't be bothered to answer. "Hey Luke why don't you come OH MY GOSH!" I said as I walked into the room.
On the bed was Luke and Elena practically making out. They pulled apart straight away and their heads snapped at me. "Chloe, it's not what it looks like!" Luke said as Elena gave me a smug smile.
I just stared at him. "IS SHE YOUR MATE?" I asked with disgust.
"No but-"
"SHE'S NOT YOUR MATE!" I shouted. "If she was your mate I would understand, but she's not. How could you, after all she's put me through?"
"Chloe, let me explain-" He tried to say but this time Elena stopped him.
"Luke there's nothing to explain, just admit that you were intrigued whenever I told Chloe off, well at least that's what you told me right before you crashed your lips on top of mine." Elena said innocently.
"Elena don't!" Luke said
"No Elena, please continue, what else has he said?"
"Elena I'm warning you!" Luke growled.
Elena just pushed him off and stood up looking at her nails. "Well I came into his room to tell him to come down since it's my big brother's party and well he came up to me. Before we walked out of the room he grabbed my arm and said, and I quote 'Chloe is so annoying, she should just fess up to everything so everyone would stop bullying her but she is just too stubborn and an attention seeker that she keeps the charade up. I asked him why he's telling me this out of the people in the pack and he said because he was speaking on your behalf and was apologising to me about the attack. I accepted the apology and he then said I intrigue him when I get angry at you and that he likes seeing me make you upset." She looked up at me and smiled. "And that's when he kissed me. We kissed for several minutes before you strolled into the room."
By the time she finished talking my face was most probably smudged. I had to hold my heart because that is how much I hurt. "Luke is that true?" I managed to say through crying. Luke kept quiet but he had tears in his eyes. "Luke is what Elena just said true?" Still no response. "LUKE SKIDMORE ANSWER ME NOW!" Whoa my voice was so demanding that it even made Elena coward behind Luke.
"Yes Chloe, it's true." Was all Luke said as he hung his head low in shame.
My vision was getting blurry as more tears formed. I wiped them away and saw Luke starting to walk towards me. "NO! don't come anywhere near me Luke!"
"Chloe, I'm sorry-"
"No Luke! I thought you were my friend!" I shouted.
"I am Chloe, I'm your best friend." He said continuing to walk towards me.
"Do you even hear yourself right now? What kind of friend does this to someone? What kind of BEST friend makes out with their friends sworn enemy??" Luke kept quiet. "That's what I thought. I can't believe you!" I shouted as I stormed out of his room.
I ran to the staircase but tripped over and fell. I got up and took my shoes off. When I was walking down the stairs all I heard we're people saying they knew the Luna would be Maya. I received the usual evils from people.
I saw Corey and ran up to him. When he saw my face he was one second away from shifting. "NO COREY!" I was honestly not in the mood. He instantly calmed down and looked at me weirdly. I just shrugged it off and got down to the point. "Corey did Xavier find his mate?" I asked casually so he didn't suspect a thing.
"Yeah, he told the whole pack just a few minutes before you came. Why?" he said furrowing his eyebrows.
Oh damn what do I say? He can't find out or he'll go ape shiz, and trust me, nothing will end well if he does. "Uhh I just wanted to know who our new Luna was so I can congratulate her." I said like I was trying to convince myself rather than him as my wolf Caroline was growling, thinking of ways she could kill Maya.
"Okay? you do that then." Corey said just as confused as I was. "Chloe are you alright?"
I didn't even hear him as I was trying to calm my wolf down. Man she was thirsty... thirsty for Maya's blood. I snapped out of the inner battle with my wolf when my brother flicked my forehead. "Ow! Why?" I yelled pressing my forehead.
"Because, you we're so out of it you didn't even realise I was talking to you!" he said amused.
"OR! maybe I heard you but didn't pay attention to it." I retorted back.
"Yeah you keep telling yourself that Chloe. Anyways it's 12am now so I'm going to head home. What about you?" he said looking at his wrist watch.
I looked around the room for Crystal. I hope she's not drunk lying on the floor somewhere. "Uhh, I'm going to spend the night here. I need to look for Crystal anyway, so just tell Mum and Dad I'll be home in the afternoon." I said. Corey glared at me. "Corey don't worry I'm not going to come home hungover. I'm still 15 and I have some dignity gosh brother I thought you'd have some faith in me." I said shocked.
"Chloe I do have faith in you-"
"Ha got ya! I was just joking. I know you're just looking out for me since I'm your baby sis and bla bla bla." I said rolling my eyes.
"That's right! and if any guy tries to hit on you or messes with you I will find out, and I'll kick their ass." He said all serious now. I just kissed his cheek and pushed him in the direction of the door. Like I haven't heard that speech before.
I looked all over for Crystal and finally found her on top of a table douging with two guys. She was a good dancer. "CRYSTAL!" I shouted over the music. Her head snapped at me and she smiled and motioned for me to come join her. Oh what the heck, what bad can come from dancing?
I jumped on the table and started dancing to the beat of the song. After a few minutes of just mucking around with Crystal and the guys a slow song came on. It was 'Back at one' by Brian McKnight. Crystal jumped off the table with one of the guys and started slow dancing together. I turned around and the other guy we we're dancing with held his hand out towards me. I took his hand without looking at his face so I wouldn't show the blush that was forming on my cheeks.
We stood next to Crystal and the guy and started dancing. I rested my head on the guys shoulders as my arms wrapped around his neck, and his hands rested on my waist. He started to softly sing the song as we swayed side to side. "One, you're like a dream come true. Two, just want to be with you. Three, girl it's plain to see that you're the only one for me and four, repeat steps 1 through 3. Five, make you fall in love with me, if ever I believe my work is done, then I'll start back at one. " By this time he spun me around and did a dip and slowly brought me back up and I finally saw his face. What a coincidence! It's the guy I was dancing with before.
He looked straight in my eyes and I started to blush. But all of a sudden I felt a slight pain in my chest. It felt as if I've been stabbed over and over again with a silver blade in my heart. I dropped my arms from around his neck and clutched my chest. I started to breathe in and out rapidly as the pain was getting worse. It was like the silver blade that was stabbing me was trying to carve my heart out. I nearly collapsed on the floor but the guy caught me and called out for help as I began to scream and hold onto my chest rougher. Everyone looked and realised it was me and resumed dancing ignoring the guy shouting at them.
Crystal pulled me up and told the guy to take me outside. The guy lifted me up bridal styles and took me outside while I began crying from the pain in my chest. Was I having a heart attack? Crystal told him to place me on the floor and he hesitated for a while but gave in to her demand. She told him to leave and he refused saying he will stay to make sure I'm alright. I screamed and started rolling around on the floor trying to make the pain go away but it wouldn't. The pain got worse, it felt like a hundred knives shoved in and out of my heart and the pain was moving towards my head. I curled up in a ball and cried even more and shouted out in agony as the pain got worse. "Please you must leave." Crystal begged the guy as tears formed in her eyes at the sight of me.
The guy gave me one last look and even he had a tear in his eye before he turned around and reluctantly walked away.
Crystal bent down and held my hand. "Chloe the pain you're feeling is the separation of your wolf with Xavier's" she said sadly.
"What d-do you mean sep-separation? He's my my other hal-half!" I managed to say through the pain.
"Well it seems" she hesitated before she spoke again. "He is completing the mating with another shewolf that is obviously not you." She said looking down at the ground.
"WHAT!" I screamed. "he's marking h-her n-nn-now?" I said shocked and all of a sudden the pain vanished.
"Yes, when your mate marks another he separates his wolf from yours combing his to the other she-wolf he marked, leaving your wolf in depression and heart break. When it's complete you won't feel any more pain, but you will feel whenever he makes love to anyone since he is rightfully yours and the bond between you can never really be broken." She said sadly.
"Crystal" I said looking at her with tears in my eyes. "The pains gone" I said hugging my knees to my chest while sobbing. Crystal just came and hugged me and apologised over and over again. "He marked her, he actually marked her. He really doesn't want me Crystal." I said crying.
Crystal hugged me tighter then pulled out and looked at me. "Chloe, he can still mark you since you are his true mate. A true mates mark is stronger than just a normal mark. You can still get him back Chloe, you just-" I didn't let her finish.
"Crystal, I don't want him back, all he causes me is heart break, I don't know why I even tried in the first place all he is, is a jerk. I shouldn't even be wasting my tears on him, but here I am crying my eyes out. Look at me I'm a mess no wonder he doesn't want me." I said sighing.
"Chloe, you're not a mess, you're beautiful inside and out and it's his loss and sooner or later he will realise that. So all you should do is walk in there with a huge smile, like nothing happened and welcome his mate showing him that he isn't affecting you like this." She said patting me on the back.
"You know you're right Crystal, that is exactly what I'm going to do... first thing tomorrow morning" I said as I got up and fixed my dress and patted my hair down so it looked better than it does now. I wiped the smudged makeup off my face and breathed in before walking back inside.
When I walked in I just happened to bump into the one person I so badly wanted to ignore. Isn't that just great!
