Chapter 6:
I was about to fall backwards but he was quick enough to catch me. A million sparks erupted when he touched me. You'd think that since he marked someone else the sparks would go but no, looks like I'm stuck with it.
"Thanks, but I can handle myself." I said pushing his hands away. To think that his hands were touching Maya's body just minutes before disgusted and aggravated me.
I went to walk away but he grabbed my hand. I turned my head in his direction. "Let me guess, you need to talk with me?" I said in a disgusted tone.
He flinched at my tone. "Actually yes I do." He said sadly.
"Well then talk!" I yelled but not loud enough for people to notice since the music was pretty loud.
"Not here, upstairs in my room." He said dragging me up the stairs ignoring my protests. Why the hell does he want to talk to me in his room? Is it to rub it in my face how he has found another and I can't? Jerk.
We reached outside his room. "Ok we're here, you can let go now!" I said yanking my hand out of his.
"Come in." he said as he opened the door.
I hesitated at first but walked in anyway as I remembered what Crystal said.
As I walked in all I wanted to do was run back downstairs and cry all over again. There sitting on his bed reading a magazine in one of his shirts was Maya and his mark on her right shoulder.
'THAT SHOULD BE US!'Â My wolf yelled. I took 3 deep breaths to calm myself down before I do some serious ass whooping.
"Chloe?" Xavier said looking at me with a worried expression. Ughh why is he so bipolar? Just minutes before he was manhandling me now he's worried.
"What?" I said boredly.
"Well as you know I rejected you and since I'm officially alpha I needed an alpha female so I marked Maya as my mate." He said looking over at Maya and smiling, which she returned.
"And she's okay with stealing someone's mate?" I asked in disgust as I furrowed my eyebrows.
Xavier looked back at me and his expression was unreadable but Maya's was one of shock and anger. "It's not stealing when he doesn't want you." She said in her squeaky high pitched voice.
I covered my ears. "Please shut up, my heads going to explode with your annoyingly high pitched voice. "
She gasped and immediately hit Xavier on the arm to which I let out a low growl which made Xavier's eyes turn dark brown with lust.
Maya obviously didn't miss this so she quickly spoke breaking his lust phase. "Xavier, are you just going to let her talk like that to me?" She yelled irritated.
Xavier intertwined his fingers with hers and looked at me. "Chloe apologise to your Luna now!" he said sternly.
"Apologise for what? I was just saying the truth." I protested to which Maya glared at me while nudging Xavier.
"Chloe! Apologise now!" he said using his alpha tone.
"I'm sorry" I blurted out looking at the ground since I had to.
"See that wasn't-" Maya started to say innocently but I interrupted her.
"that you have an annoying voice." I said smugly still looking at the ground.
The room was quiet, too quiet so I decided to look up. Wrong choice just then Maya slapped me right across the face. "How dare you disrespect the Luna of the pack!" she screamed in my face. Xavier growled but stood exactly where he was.
I put my hand on the cheek she just slapped and looked her in the eye. "I am rightfully Luna of this pack and you know it." I said in an icy tone. She flinched back.
"But you will never be because he chose me not you." She said with a grin on her face. It was now my turn to slap her and boy did It feel amazing. I looked at her face and sinisterly smiled. A red hand print was etched onto her cheek...my hand print.
"And he will live to regret it!" i said through gritted teeth.
"Chloe just get over it! I don't want you. I never will!" Xavier shouted running over to Maya and hugging her as she started to cry.
The whole room was silent. Ok now that hurt. He really doesn't want me! what did I possibly do to make him hate me this much? Tears started to form again. Ugh you'd think the amount of times I have cried over him I wouldn't have any tears left. He looked at me with regret but that was quickly gone when Maya looked at me. "Don't you get it? He doesn't love you Chloe, he loves me." She said turning back to Xavier and crashing her lips on his. She pulled away and looked back at me. "What more do you need to see to realise it?"
Tears rolled down my face freely as I backed out of their room. Xavier looked at me and it looked like he had tears of his own. As I was out of his room I ran down the stairs and was about to run out of the house but Crystal stopped me. "Chloe what's wrong? Where did Xavier take you?" she said.
I dragged her outside and explained everything, by the end of the story she was shaking violently. "How could he!? He just stood there while she slapped you and spoke like that to you!?" she yelled.
"Simple." She looked at me like I was crazy. "She loves him and he loves her. They both admitted it to me." I said hiding my head in my hands.
"Well they're both idiots!" Crystal said placing her hand on my shoulder.
We sat in a comfortable silence with Crystal just rubbing my back as I cried. Luke walked past with Elena. Luke was about to come comfort me but remembered our fight and remained where he was. Elena spoke up. "Haven't you ran out of tears yet? You're so pathetic Chloe like grow up and stop crying! You're annoying everyone!" she said with both her hands in the air. Luke kept quiet behind her. "Don't you think so Luke?" she said turning to him
I looked up at him and waited patiently for his response. He didn't answer. "Luke don't you think she should grow up and stop crying?" Elena asked again impatiently.
Luke just nodded. I can't believe him! Elena just smiled victoriously and walked off holding Luke's hand. What an ass!
I turned towards Crystal with teary eyes. "Crystal I can't stay here anymore, I can't stay here and watch my mate kiss and love someone else and I can't just act like what my best friend is doing doesn't hurt me when really it's killing me."
"Then where would you go?" She asked shocked.
"I don't know, but anywhere is better than here Crystal. It's not healthy for me to stay here when all I do is cry and get bullied. I have no one."
"What about your family? What about me? you still have us." She tried to reason with me.
"Crystal please I can't. I can't act like nothing happened because it did. I need to get out of here and start new."
Crystal kept quiet for a while as she was deep thought. After a while she sighed and hugged me tightly. "Even though I've only met you this morning you were the closest thing I've ever had to a friend and because of that I wish you good luck on finding a better place and being happy. You really and truly deserve it." She said as she hugged me tighter.
"Crystal?" I said. She pulled out of the hug and looked at me. "There is one thing I need you to do before I go."
"I'll do anything." She said.
"Can you just pass these notes on to my family, Luke and Xavier?"
"Sure thing, do you have it here with you?" she asked.
"um no, I actually haven't written one yet. I'm going to write it now and then leave. Please give it to them tomorrow morning." I pleaded and she just nodded.
I began to write the letters. I wrote my families letter first, then Luke's, cause even though he betrayed me he still deserves to know I'm leaving, and last but not least I wrote Xavier's note. I gave them to Crystal and hugged her one last time before I turned around and shifted into my wolf and ran.
I kept running and not once did I stop. As I crossed the border territory I felt my connection with the pack weaken and become nothing. Even my connection to Xavier weakened and I could no longer feel him.
I found a little pond and decided to stop for a drink since I've been running for ages. As I leant forward to drink I heard a twig snap. I immediately spun around to come face to face with three big wolves. Crap!
