Chapter 9
Chloe's P.O.V
"Hey Teti." I said scared. Scared for my ears. My father would yell at me for the first ten minutes and then ask if I'm alright.
"Chloe Salvatore Maka! Ta'ahine ta'e ofa mo'oni Ko koe! Foki mai ki api taimini. Teu alu atu o'e fusi koe ki eni. When have I ever told you to run away?! Meimei Ta Eku mafu! Koe ho mahanga eni na meimei pongia! And your mother and Taniela have been crying non stop! Where are you?" (Chloe Salvatore Maka, how could you leave your family, get back home now before I find you and drag you back. When have I ever told you to run away from us like this? Do you know I nearly had a heart attack. Your twin nearly fainted and your mother and Daniel have been crying nonstop crying his heart out. WHERE ARE YOU?"
Oh crap he's speaking Tongan. In the corner of my eye I could see Scott smiling. Crap forgot he was Tongan too. "Teti, I'm fine, thanks for asking." Scott just laughed even more. I picked up a pen that was on his desk and pegged it at his face. Bullzye! Got him in his eye. He just stuck his tongue out at me and drew his finger across his neck.
"Chloe, now is not the time for your sarcasm, where are you?" he yelled back.
"Funny story actually dad. I'm at uncle Sione's pack house, you know the uncle you never told me about." I said in an accusing tone. No reply. "Dad? Dad?" no answer. I looked at the phone and we were still connected. "Teti! Answer the phone!"
"Hey twin." Oh my goodness it's corey!
"Hey twin! Told ya I would call when I'm safe and boy do I have news for you!"
"Ghee I miss you too sis!" he said as I rolled my eyes, man I do miss him.
"Corey, I really do miss you and I'm sorry I left, but don't worry I'm in good hands, I'm with uncle Sione and cous Scott!" I said the last part excitedly.
"Ko hai nautolu?(who are they?)" Corey said in Tongan, wait what! Since when does he know how to speak Tongan?
"Gone for a day and you learnt Tongan. Are you that bored?" I asked astounded.
He laughed. "I've secretly been picking up on your conversations with Dad so I can plot against you and swear back. Anyways who's Sione and Scott?"
"Si tuku ho maumautaimi. E fo'i pe koe, kuli. (Psht stop wasting your time. You will never outdo me, dog.)" Scott laughed out loud. "Sione is dad's little brother and Scott's our cousin. Oh my gosh Corey! You should see Sione, he looks exactly like dad!" I said shocked.
Corey's P.O.V
Dad has a younger brother?! who's an alpha? That means that he's an alpha too, which makes Chloe, Daniel and I alpha's kids, WHAT?
I gave the phone to mum and looked at dad who was sitting on a chair looking like he was deep in thought. "When were you going to tell me that I'm not a beta, but an alpha!" I said which snapped him out of his thought.
"I never thought I'd have to tell you. I'd always thought that you kids would have the beta gene." He replied sadly and shocked.
"What do you mean?! You're my father, you're an alpha! You should've told us, this whole time we were growing up you lied to us. You said you had no family but most importantly you didn't tell us I was an alpha wolf! I kept thinking there was something wrong with me because HIS (I pointed at Xavier who kept looking at the phone.) Alpha tone wouldn't work on me sometimes."
"Son, please understand, I just didn't want you to go and leave us and become alpha, I wanted us to live together as a family."
I guess I understand his point of view because unlike Xavier I wait and see things through the other person's prospective. I sighed. "I guess I understand, but I still think I deserved to know." I said to which he nodded his head.
"just me, your father, Daniel and Corey and................Luke and Xavier." My mother sighed out the last part.
"GIVE ME THE PHONE!" Xavier boomed out of nowhere. I could tell he used his alpha tone, but since my wolf has now learnt the truth it didn't affect me. However it affected my mother and she reluctantly handed the phone to him but not before mumbling 'Sorry Chloe'.
Chloe's P.O.V
"GIVE ME THE PHONE!" was all I heard.
"Hello? Mum? Momma? Hello?" I shouted.
"CHLOE!" someone shouted from the other side of the phone. Wait a minute I know that obnoxious voice.
"Xavier." I growled out.
"Chloe! You get back here right now!" Oh hell nah he did not just say that.
To say I was pissed would be the understatement of the year, I was fuming. "WHY?! Did you get bored of Maya already?" I yelled.
I heard a low growl then, "Not now Chloe! You listen to me very closely. You will come back to my territory and you will never leave again! Are we clear?" He said using his alpha tone.
It didn't affect me though, I guess this really is my pack and I'm there alpha female. "Sorry, your alpha tone doesn't work on me anymore, I guess my wolf accepted that I'm not rightfully part of your pack." I said in fake sadness. Xavier growled again.
"No! MY pack is rightfully YOURS. YOU are MY mate and luna of THIS pack. You come back here right now or I'll come get you. The choice is up to you." He yelled.
I became angrier every time a word came out of Xavier's mouth. "SO NOW YOU RECOGNISE ME AS YOUR MATE! WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE TIMES YOU TURNED ME DOWN! WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE TIMES YOU HATED ME AND LOVED MAYA. I'm done Xavier, my letter said everything. I HATE YOU!" I yelled and I didn't even realise I began to cry. I sniffled.
"Baby I'm sorry, don't cry, I'm sorry please just don't cry." He said and his voice made me cry even more. It was filled with sincere and pain. Pain to hear me cry and there's nothing he can do about it. Why did it have to be under these circumstances that he starts to care and worry about me. I sniffled again and began to make those crying sounds. I couldn't stop myself; Chase got up and hugged me.
I felt happy when he hugged me. it's been a long time since someone would hug me when I'm feeling down, well besides Crystal of course. I guess Xavier felt my happiness to as he asked me a question. "Chloe, why are you happy of a sudden, who are you with?" he asked suspiciously.
I pulled away from Chase and smiled at him, the two years where I was bullied and rejected played in my head and I snapped. "I'm happy because I came to this pack looking like shit but they still took me in, they listened to me, they didn't judge me and most importantly they care about me even though they only knew me for a short time." I shouted back. Xavier started to speak but I interrupted him. "And I'm with Chase!" I yelled letting my anger out.
I could tell I made Xavier pissed as a scary low growl erupted from him. Everyone around me heard it and looked at me with a scared expression except for Scott and Chase. Chase just scoffed. "WHO THE HELL IS CHASE AND WHY ARE YOU WITH HIM!" Xavier growled.
Chase nudged me to keep going and mouthed 'payback's a bitch'. I smirked and decided to play along. "Chase is my boy friend!" Scott looked at me as if I was crazy! I asked him what's wrong but didn't have time to listen as I heard bones snapping and a wolf howl. Oh crap he took it the wrong way.
Xavier's P.O.V
"Chase is my boy friend!" That was all it took for me to shift. I dropped the phone and felt my bones begin to snap and rearrange into my wolf. Fur spurted out of me and soon I was on all fours howling out in pain. Chloe can't have a boyfriend. Everyone in the house stood still. Luke hid cowardly behind the kitchen bench, paea stood in front of his mate and youngest son while Corey picked up the phone and began talking.
Corey's P.O.V
"Chloe what did you say to him?" I shouted.
"Why, what's happening?" she asked me frantically.
"He shifted and he's pissed. Chloe you need to calm him down! Whatever you said must've hit a nerve and an angry alpha is never good. Please Chloe you need to calm him down!" I begged her. Since I never asked her to do anything for me she will probably do what I say now.
"Corey, how the hell am I meant to calm him down when I'm miles away?" She asked.
"I'll put you on speaker and you just tell him to, and he will since you're his mate." I said in a matter of fact tone. She most probably rolled her eyes.
"Unfortunately I am." Was all she said.
I put her on speaker and slowly and quietly walked towards Xavier. I guess he remembered Chloe was on the phone as he started to lick the phone and whimper. Even though I hated his guts, I felt sorry for his wolf. His wolf wants his mate. "Chloe now." I said.
And as requested my stubborn little sister did as I asked. "Xavier, please calm down for me and shift back." She said. Xavier licked the phone again but he didn't shift. Luke walked towards the phone but Xavier growled and got in a position to pounce on Luke. "Xavier, please for me, shift back. If you care about me shift back." She begged as she most probably heard the growl.
Xavier immediately shifted back. He was naked and my dad put his hand in front of my mother's eye. Gosh are all alpha's this protective over their mate? 'You're going to be the same' my wolf said defending my father. I just scoffed.
Xavier stood up hiding little Xavier. He looked at me pleadingly. I just rolled my eyes and ran upstairs and grabbed a pair of basketball shorts and shirt. I threw it at him. "I want those back as soon as you dry clean them." I said in a hateful tone. He just nodded his head.
Daniel stepped forward and snatched the phone off me. "Chloe!" he screamed.
He began talking to Chloe in Tongan, and I didn't understand one word he said, but they were probably talking about me since he and my father would laugh here and then. I glared at both of them and then looked towards Luke who stood in the corner of the room.
I walked towards him and punched him in the face. "You're a two face bastard you know that!" I walked back to where Daniel was and glared at him. Luke didn't do or say anything, I guess he realises what he did was a dick move.
Xavier's P.O.V
I immediately shifted back as soon as she said if i care about her. Heaven knows how much I care about her. I guess I always have but pride got in my way. I regret it and I just hope that her family will be able to persuade her to come back because I need her back and I obviously do not want her near Chase! And because she's not safe out there.
Her younger brother was talking to her on the phone and I could hear her laugh. I was happy to hear her laugh but envied her younger brother as I could never be the reason why she laughs or smiles.
'Baby, where are you?' Maya said through our mind link since I marked her as my mate.
'Why, what's wrong?' I replied
'I have great news babe, where are you I want to tell you in person' she replied back gleefully.
'No, don't worry I'll come back home and you can tell me then.' I said insistently. I don't want her to come here where Chloe can hear her and all my chances at getting back with her will be gone.
'Oh don't worry Luke told me where you are. I'm nearly there!' she replied annoyed.
'Ok babe.' Oh no I need to make them hang up on Chloe.
I walked over towards Daniel and was about to snatch the phone from him but Luke pushed me back. "NO! face this situation like a man Xavier!" Luke growled. What is this little mutt up to, telling Maya where I am? I was about to punch Luke but the front door slammed open.
"What's going on?" Chloe shouted from the phone. Crap, what am I going to do.
"Xavier baby! Where are you?" Maya said and just then I understand what Chloe means. Her voice really is squeaky. I scrunched my face up in dislike. How could I have never noticed that before?
A low growl came from the phone and I couldn't help the smile that formed on my face. She's jealous.
Chloe's P.O.V
"Xavier baby! Where are you?" an all too familiar squeaky voice said. I couldn't help but let out a growl. I slapped my hand over my mouth.
The phone was quiet for a while and I looked at it and it's still connected. I turned it on loud speaker in case so I can hear better.
It was a quiet for a while. I was about to say something but the squeaky voice beat me to it. "Xavier, I'm pregnant!" and just like that my heart was ripped out once again.
