My little ball of sunshine^^
-----
"Here you go, love."
"Thank you." I murmured, taking the plate that was held out to me. It had two slices of Hawaiian pizza on it with cheesy crust. It looked delicious with the melted cheese and sweet pineapples. I'm pretty sure Zayn had ordered it from a local pizzeria on campus called, "Malfunction". It was the only place in this University that sold cheesy crust so no doubt I'm going back there again.
After everyone was served, I followed the boys as they led me to a six seat dinning table in the room next to their kitchen. It was a smaller room, only this dinning table in it. My guess is that when they were building it, they had to make some sacrifices because after all, this is still a dorm room and having all their rooms gigantic just wouldn't fit.
The walls were painted a deep red, an expensive looking crystal chandelier hanging directly above the center (guess they didn't make as many sacrifices as I thought). The table was a nice oak wood, painted a chestnut brown. The chairs were floral printed, but instead of bright coloured flowers, they were grey, white and black. It looked strangely elegant.
"Who designed this place?" I couldn't help but ask, my eyes wandering around the room in curiosity.
"My mother." Zayn answered, taking my plate from my hand and setting it down on the place mat at one of the heads of the table. "She is the architect back at our packs land. Niall's father had asked her to come and design this for only Niall when this dorm building was first being built."
"Only Niall was supposed to live here?!" I exclaimed incredulously, my mouth agape and eyes wide in shock. "This is too big for one person!"
"Yeah, my father has always found the need to spoil me." Niall chuckled, scratching the back of his head. I gulped while watching him do it. I don't think it was meant to be sexy but oh my, with his elbow bent behind his shoulder I could see the bulging bicep. I licked my lips, my throat suddenly becoming parched.
Come on, Harry! Snap out of it.
"He had built it with only me in mind but once I found my mates," He paused, smiling at the three boys that were staring at him fondly, "He accommodated it to fit the four of us."
I nodded at his words, understanding now why the place was so huge. I was just about to sit at the spot they left my plate at but before I could, Liam pulled out my chair and allowed me to sit before pushing it back into place. None of the other boys even batted an eyelash to the scene, so I guess they were used to Liam being a gentlemen. He planted a quick peck to the top of my head before sitting himself at his own spot to the left of me.
"Thank you." I murmured, my cheeks flaming.
"Of course, angel." He smirked at my flushed features, winking at me.
The other boys laughed at my bright face, taking their seats around the table as well.
It was silent after we were all seated and the calmness of it brought something to mind that I had never actually thought about. "How did you guys find each other?" I blurted, not knowing if that was a private topic or not. I assume it's not because I'm their mate too and I feel like I have the right to know how all my mates had found each other.
Zayn chuckled, "I suppose we haven't really explained that part, have we?" I nodded, glad that he responded so positively to the question. It means he didn't find it too nosy of me. I rested my elbows on the table, laying my chin on the palm of my hand while eagerly waiting for him to tell the story. "Well, I believe out of the four of us," He motioned to himself and the other boys, "Niall and I met first. As we told you, my mum was designing this dorm room for Niall. She was always nagging me about the fact that I never came out with her to work to see what she does. On top of that, she was constantly mentioning me leaving for University without even seeing the campus. No matter how many times I told her I was going to A.B.O solely to find my mate and I didn't need to see all the extra-curricular, she wouldn't give up." He shook his head while rolling his eyes at the memory, but I could all the while see the love shinning in his eyes for his mother.
"When Niall's father had given her the opportunity to design his son's dorm, she couldn't refuse. My father thought that if my mother did a good job, it could help with the unity of our two packs."
"Which two packs?" I couldn't help but cut in. I hadn't been aware that both they're father's were the head Alphas.
Head Alphas were very different from you're everyday Alphas for many different reasons. The main one being that head Alphas were the leaders of their pack and they were generally the most powerful out of all the pack members. Being a head Alpha is hereditary so every pack member knows that the title will be past down to the first born son or daughter.
"Well, my father is the Head Alpha of the Savage Gloom Pack." Niall spoke up, smirking at the way my jaw dropped. That was one of the top packs in the world.
"W-Wha â" I couldn't even form a sentence to express my astonishment.
"And mines the head of the Shadowed Howlers Pack." Zayn added.
I was going to faint.
The only thing that could make this news even more surprising was the one thing I was too scared to ask. I feared the response for this question but I knew it needed to be asked. "By any chance, a-are any of you the f-first born?"
The serious looks on their face said it all. I couldn't breathe. They expected me to be the Luna of two of the most powerful and largest packs in the world. Me?! Little ole Harry Styles?!
"This may be a good time to mention that both Liam and I are next in line for each of our packs as well. Mine is the Black Eclipse Pack and Liam's is the Broken Shadow Pack." Louis piped in slowly, allowing me the time to absorb the information.
My eyes popped as soon as I heard the words, 'Broken Shadow Pack'.
I turned to Liam, "Y-You're next i-in line for t-the B-Broken S-Shadows?" I stammered out gripping shakily at the armrests on my cushioned chair.
Liam nodded once in confirmation, his eyes studying me with a hard stare to see my reaction. How else was I suppose to act?! The Broken Shadow Pack is the most powerful and deadly pack in the world. And I was meant to be the future Luna.
"No." I blurted, standing up so quickly that my head started to spin. "No." The other boys were up in seconds crowding around me and taking me into their arms. "I-I c-can't!" Tears sprung to my eyes at the mere thought of having to simply meet the members of their packs. These were the most deadly packs on the planet and I was somehow meant to be their nurturer and their leader.
"Hush baby, please." Niall whispered soothing, cradling my head to his chest and stroking my curls. "We weren't planning on discussing this so soon. I know it's a lot to process right now but I promise you, you are going to be the best Luna for all of our packs. I can just feel it."
I shook my head at his words, tears of fear and worry making a path down my face. How could he possibly know if I'd be a good Luna? We've barely known each other for 24 hours and he's promising me something so giant. Being a Luna basically means you are the mother of the pack. You are the one members go to when they're in need of comfort or advice. I have to be the role model figure to not one, not two, but four packs. On top of that, these are the four packs that are considered the most dangerous in the world. I don't know what I did to have the moon goddess bestow this curse...gift?...on me.
"Angel, there is no need to be afraid okay?" Liam gently pulled me away from Niall to take my face in his hands. His calloused, yet strangely comforting, thumbs stoked both my dimpled cheeks affectionately. I met his puppy dog brown eyes with my green ones, my bottom lip still quivering. "I know all our packs have a reputation for being cruel but I can guarantee you none of our members are like that in person. Sure they can be rabid when they're threatened but deep down, they're puppies." I cracked a small smile at his words, my spirits lifting slightly.
I was then guided into Zayn's arms. He wrapped both his muscular arms around me, hugging me to his chest tightly while gently swaying. "And we can all promise you that none of them would ever dare touch a hair on your head. If they did, they would lose their head." I stiffened at his words, not knowing if I should be comforted or frantic about that thought. "You will be the most protected pack member in all of our packs."
I sniffled, hugging him around his waist and burying my tear-stained face into his chest. He rested his chin on top of my head, tilting his face slightly afterwards to place a peck on my curls.
I felt another hand grab mine and I looked up from Zayn's chest to see Louis gently pulling me into his arms. "Remember love, once our father's pass on their titles to us, we will be the most feared Alphas in the world. That means that no one will dare cross us or our loved ones."
I nodded but those words didn't make me feel that much better. That just made me realize that I'll be the Omega to the four most feared Alphas in the world. I'm feeling an odd sense of honor and horror at the realization.
"S-So are all of your packs united?" I questioned, allowing Louis to swipe away the remains of my tears with his thumbs. He kissed each cheek quickly before gently sitting me back down on the dinning chair I had shot out of.
"Well, we haven't united into one big giant pack if that's what you're asking, but we have become strong allies. And because of the fact that Louis and Liam's pack lands were already next to each other, Zayn's and my pack moved to the unoccupied land around them so we can be together." Niall explained while all of them took their seats once again as well. I bit my lip at his words, processing the information.
So they're united, but not officially? Seems a bit too complicated. If they're mates, shouldn't they just all create one huge pack together so they don't have to separate?
"I can see those wheel's turning in your head, precious." Zayn commented, making my eyes snap over to meet his. He smiled slightly at me, continuing, "Why don't you share your thoughts."
"Um, well, I guess I just don't understand why you guys wouldn't just unite into one big pack to get rid of the complications." I shrugged, picking up my slice of now cold pizza and taking a bite. Man, I forgot how hungry I was.
"Technically they aren't our packs yet, they're our fathers packs. And since our fathers aren't mates, they are having trouble convincing our pack members to unite as one. In addition to that, you have to understand that our four packs are already known as the most lethal. If we were to come together to form one that would make other packs assume that we are trying to threaten them and start a war. This is a tricky situation, which is why we wouldn't think of acting on this until the four of us are the official leaders of our packs."
I nodded at Louis explanation. That makes much more sense.
The rest of the dinner was spent mostly in silence because they all insisted that if I continued talking, I wouldn't eat and apparently they're very strict about me eating all of my food.
Jeez, I didn't realize that when people said they were obsessive it meant that I would have to be monitored on the amount of food I eat. I have to admit though that my heart warms at their caring instinct. Even though they're rules are ridiculous and obsessive, I do find they're concern endearing and sweet.
-----
Once dinner was finished and the dishes were washed â which I was told I was not allowed to do â we were all getting ready for bed. It was only 10:30 but according to Liam, I needed my beauty rest. I don't know why he insisted so heavily on me having a bedtime but I gave up fighting for it because I could tell he was close to busting a fume.
So, here I was, drowning in one of Niall's jumpers and a pair of sweats that were too small for Louis but big enough on me that I had to pull the jaw string as tight as it would go. I didn't have any of my night supplies with me though and after begging to go fetch them from my room, they agreed but only with the accompaniment of Liam. I assumed it was Liam they chose to take me because he was the most likely to remain as calm as he could while seeing Greyson.
I jingled the key ring in my hand while trying to find the right key to my dorm. I really should label them even though I only have three keys. One for my dorm, one for the locker I had rented down at the school gym and the last one was one I couldn't even remember what it was for because it was so old.
On the second attempt I managed to open the door with a jerk, blushing at the chuckle I heard from Liam from my struggling. I pushed it open slowly at first just incase Greyson was asleep but the light happened to be on, alerting me that he was still awake.
True to what I thought, there he was on his bed, his back resting on the headboard of his bed with the covers draped over his legs and his laptop placed on his lap.
"Hey Grey." I waved shyly at him, remembering that the last time he saw me I was being dragged away by my mates. "Um, I just need to get my toiletry bag." I murmured.
He nodded, eying Liam as he stood behind me. I knew Liam chose to ignore Greyson's presence because I could practically feel his eyes burning into my back.
"Where's Rhys?" I asked while shuffling through the items on my desk, trying to start up a conversation in the awkward room.
"I dropped him off at his dorm about an hour ago. He has classes tomorrow, as do you I recall." He mentioned casually, his arms now crossed over his chest. "He's worried about you."
I sighed, mentally cursing at him for saying it when I heard Liam growl slightly. I quickly responded before Liam could, "Is he? He shouldn't be. I'm perfectly fine." I assured to ease the tension.
"Yes. Harry is perfectly fine so tell your Omega not to worry." Liam hissed, wrapping a possessive arm around my waist and drawing me into his chest. I was about to comment and tell him that I hadn't found my toiletry bag yet but Greyson beat me to it.
"Do not speak of my Omega in that tone. He's only looking out for his friend." Greyson growled, shoving his laptop off him and standing to his feet.
Liam snarled, pushing me behind him and puffing out his chest to intimidate him. It was a natural instinct of an Alpha. I cringed as the two started spewing insults and threats at one another as they took slow steps towards each other.
"Enough!" I surprised myself into shouting, stomping my foot to get both of their attention. "That's enough. You're both acting like children right now, not Alphas." I glared heatedly at them both, done with their shit at the moment. "Grey, you know I consider you one of my best friends right now, as well as Rhys and I appreciate your worrying dearly because I know it's out of care, but please stop fighting with my Alpha." I begged him, making his eyes soften and the fists he had clenched, unclench. "And Liam, you are my Alpha, okay? I don't know if you're jealous or have anger issues but you and the other boys have to stop fighting with Greyson because he's my friend. This is getting ridiculous. You know I'm yours so please stop doubting it." I huffed, watching the glare slowly slip off his face as he stepped towards me. My confidence slipped away a little bit when he cradled my face in his hands.
"I'm sorry, angel. I truly am. I shouldn't have started something out of nothing. I'm a jealous man and I can't help it, but I will. For you." He whispered, kissing my forehead and letting his lips linger for a while.
"Thank you." I murmured back, smiling slightly at the fact that he's listening to me. It reassures me that what he said to me back in Professor Horan's office was true. This is a team effort between the five of us and I get as much say as they do. They're allowing me to express my feelings and so far they're adjusting themselves to how they see I need them. And I'm doing the same for them without even realizing it.
Right then I knew, the moon goddess got it right.
