“You’re not serious, are you?” I laughed nervously, waiting for him to join in on my amusement, but his face remained neutral. My laughing immediately died down to an awkward chuckle, and then I gulped, sensing the seriousness of this topic, “They won’t…do anything, right?”

Greyson sighed sympathetically, “I think you should sit down Harry, I obviously have some explaining to do on how this school works.” I nodded, following him to his decorated bed and taking a seat beside him. “I’ll try to make this as understanding as I can. I thought someone would’ve told you about The Tops by now. I mean that is the biggest news in this whole University, the fact that they’re looking for their last mate.”

“L-Last mate?” I asked hesitantly. “They’re all looking for one?”

He laughed, “They’re all together, in one four-way relationship.”

“Is that even aloud?” I asked in disbelief.

“For them it is.” My eyes widened slightly at his tone of voice, seeing how serious this topic was. “It’s the first time we’ve heard of someone having more than one mate, let alone four.”

“Alright…so their last mate? If they’re all Alpha’s then don’t they need, like, another Alpha?”

“No not exactly…” He sighed tiredly and muttered, “This is going to be a lot to explain.”

“I-It’s okay, you d-don’t have to t-tell me. I u-understand.” I answered nervously, trying not to seem too pushy with him. Even though he was mated he still is an Alpha and as an Omega I have no choice but to obey him.

“No no no,” He began, “I don’t mind, you really should know this stuff about The Tops if you’re going to be staying at this University, heck now you’re even on the same floor!”

Harry gulped and nodded, trying to mentally prepare himself for the information he’s about to absorb, “O-Okay…so um…where do you start?”

Greyson chuckled, shaking the hair on the tip of his head and then pushing it back in its upward style, “I’ll just start from the beginning, yeah?” He gave me a look and I nodded as an answer for him to continue, “Well, if I’m honest, I’m not entirely sure how they are all mated to each other with four Alphas and a soon-to-be Omega. I heard that two of them were actual mates and then later they met the other two and fell in love. By werewolf law, there should only be two people per bond, but the head of the government, Cole Durrow whom I’m sure you’ve heard of?” He paused, looking over at me once more for confirmation.

“Yeah, of course.” I nodded rapidly. Every werewolf knows who Cole Durrow is. He’s the second highest rank in the werewolf world, under the head werewolf himself. All children are required to know the government of their kind, starting with the head werewolf, the most powerful wolf you can be, considering he himself is the one to decide who you’re mated with, and Cole Durrow, the head of government. No one knows the name of the high werewolf; we just have been known to call him ‘The Head’. We have been told that he knows all; he knows you better than you would yourself, this is why when you’re born he is capable of matching you with another wolf and as of then, you are soul mates. Durrow is the head of law; he decides the rules for all, and the consequences you face if you break them. He isn’t the highest position but he’s pretty damn close and you never want to disobey his regulations.

“Okay well,” Greyson continued, “from what everyone’s been told, when Liam, Niall, Louis and Zayn all went to Durrow about they’re problem of all of them being in love, Durrow went to The Head. Durrow’s the only one who’s seen The Head so we kind of just rely on him for help when confused with the pairings. Apparently, it was very true that all four of these Alphas were mates. I guess The Head thought them, and this other Omega would be perfect soul mates.”

“Alright….” I said unsteadily, still trying to grasp the new information, “But I still don’t understand why these, ‘Tops’” I added quotations. “are more superior than everyone else.”

“Simple, there’s four of them, they’re all Alphas, and Niall’s dad owns the school.” He shrugged. I opened my mouth to question him further but he beat me to it, “No one dares to approach them. If any one of them is touched or talked about, even thought about in a bad way, you’re instantly kicked out of the school.”

“C-Can they even do that? What about—“

“Harry,” He sighed exasperatedly, “no ones able to fight them, they’re much stronger than many other werewolves and there’s four of them. Plus this is the only werewolf school there is, if you get kicked out then you’re stuck with the humans.”

I grumbled lowly, “I wish I was with the human’s…”

“What was that?” Greyson asked, dipping his head closer to mine to hear me better.

“Nothing, it’s nothing.” I shook my head, twiddling with my thumbs. “So, uh- how long have they been looking for this Omega?”

He shrugged, standing from the mattress and walking over to his dresser, “About six years.”

“Six years?!” I screeched, looking at him in disbelief, “What the fuck, and they can’t find him…or her?”

“Him.” He nodded firmly, “Everyone knows it’s going to be a him.”

“Um, okay? So obviously they aren’t looking hard enough if they can’t find this special mate…” I chuckled dryly, watching Greyson walk back over to the bed with an opened bag of crisps that he snatched from the dresser.

“Harry, you have to understand that there are werewolves all over the world, this Omega could be anywhere.”

“So why haven’t they gone looking somewhere other than England?”

“They have. They took they’re first three years of University off so they could search for their mate. They returned last year to complete their schooling and then I’ve heard they’re going back on the hunt after they graduate.”

“Wow,” I sighed loudly, “This Omega better feel pretty damn lucky that their mates are going all out for him.”

Greyson chuckled bitterly, “No one wants to be their little Omega.”

I scrunched my eyes in confusion, “Why? They’ve gone through so much trouble, they must really love this guy.”

“Harry, these Tops may seem all sweet and loving but I can assure you they’re quite the opposite.” He shivered for an over-dramatic effect, “I remember when I first met them…they almost bit my head off because I had sat on one of their seats in their section of the classroom.”

“Whoa, that’s pretty off.” I chuckled, reaching for a chip in the bag. “Are they always that harsh and snappy?”

“Yeah, whoever this mate is better run for the hills when they find him. They’re never gonna let him leave their sight…jeez they’re an odd four.”

I laughed along with him, trying to forget about the bad burning in the pit of my stomach.

Greyson seemed to catch my discomfort and immediately opened his mouth, “You really shouldn’t worry about them Harry, it’s unlikely you’d be the mate. There’s many werewolf Omegas out there, I’m pretty sure you’re safe. There’s nothing to really sweat about honestly, I mean they wont touch you if you aren’t their mate.”

I shrugged, letting out a shuddered breath, “Y-Yeah I guess…”

After a couple moments of silence, I smiled at him, “So what’s your mate like?” I asked, trying to brighten the mood.

It seemed to have worked, because I’ve never seen him light up that bright, “He’s fantastic! His names Rhys, and oh my gosh he’s perfect! I love him so much, he means the world to me.” I smiled, nodding along as he continued to list off traits of Rhys’ personality. I couldn’t help but break a little in the inside at the fact that they’re happily together as soul mates, and I can’t even find mine. I mean, a part of me doesn’t want to find my mate so I can just marry a human, but the more practical side of me knows that I will never feel right with anyone other than my mate. I can only wish that he or she might be nice and caring, I really don’t want to get stuck with an unloving mate.

“H, you alright?” Someone snapped their fingers in front of my face, pulling me out of my thoughts. “I asked if you wanted me to show you around the campus a bit? Maybe we could grab a bite.”

I nodded, still a little hazy after coming back to reality, “Y-Yeah yeah, um sure.”

He gave me a wary look, which I returned with a small smile, raising from the bed and making my way to the door.

“Uh you might want a jacket H, it’s a little chilly out.”

I bit my lip, looking at my empty side of the room, “Oh yeah well, um my stuff is getting delivered and I don’t think it’ll be here till tomorrow morning.”

His eyes widened, “How’re you gonna sleep then? You have no pillows or blankets, or any clothes for that matter!”

I shrugged carelessly, “It’s fine, and I’ll just where this outfit to bed, I can manage until tomorrow.”

Greyson rolled his bluish-grey irises in a playful manner, “You can wear one of my jackets you little twit.”

I blushed crimson, looking down at my tattered converses with a small smile, “I-It’s alright, I-I’m sure I’ll b-be fi—“

“Just shut up.” He chuckled, chucking me one of his jackets that he had snatched from his closet and grabbing another one for himself. “Do you have your schedule? I can show you where your classes will be if you want, just so you’re not so lost when school actually starts.”

“Oh thanks yeah, um yeah-o-okay thanks…” I blushed furiously, not knowing why I couldn’t get the redness in my cheeks to disappear.

“It’s cute when you blush, you’re like a little cherry.” He smirked, leaning past me to unlock our dorm door and opening it. “Uh, Harry you’re going to have to move a bit so I can open the door…” He laughed, tugging at the doorknob for emphasis.

“O-Oh right…” I stuttered, a little flustered from his close proximity. I know nothing will happen between Greyson and I, so I don’t know why I’m so nervous around him. Of course he’s good looking but he’s mated, plus he’s not my type. It must be his Alpha vibe that sets me into submissive mode constantly.

“H, chill alright? I won’t touch you so stop getting all tense around me, yeah?” He reassured, motioning for me to follow him down the hallway.

“I know I’m sorry…I’m j-just so used to Alphas trying to—um, never mind.” I scratched the back of my neck awkwardly, trying hard not to bring back old memories.

“It’s alright, I understand.” Greyson gave a small laugh, “So, on a newer note, are you excited for your first year here?”

-----

I let my hand drop from the golden doorknob once we were back outside.

“And that would be where you’ll go for your last class, History.” Greyson smiled, stuffing his chilled hands back in his pockets and descending the steps from the building.

I nodded, huffing out a breath of exhaustion.

It’s been about two and a half hours of Greyson showing me around campus, where the best pubs are, where my classes will take place, the short cuts to all quickest food restaurants. He had just finished showing me the interior of what will be my last class of the week, History.

“There’s a pizza place across the street from here if you’re hungry.” He shrugged, pointing to the glowing ‘Pizza Pizza’ sign down the street.

I nodded vigorously, desperately craving to get inside the warmth of the restaurant and devour a whole pizza in one bite.

“So, the campus seem interesting so far?” Greyson asked curiously as we waited in line to get our orders through.

I shrugged, glancing over the menu that was situated on the wall behind the front counter, “Yeah, it’s nice. It might be hard getting from one class to another, they all seem pretty distant from each other.”

He chuckled, “Yeah you’ll get used to it,” We stepped forward in the line up. “When you’ve been here long enough you’ll eventually find easier routes to get to all of your classes.”

I nodded understandingly, even though I wasn’t really paying attention to him. My gaze was distracted to two boys sitting in the corner of the restaurant, both their eyes locked on me.

I shifted uncomfortably; taking quick looks around me to see if they were staring at someone else. My face flushed when I realized I was the only one in their vision.

I knew both the boys were Alphas; it was obvious by their dominating features. I only held their gaze for a couple of seconds, before looking away and focusing back on Greyson who seemed to have been talking to me the whole time.

“Do you want it to go or for here?” The man at the cash register asked, placing our requested pizzas in front of us on the counter.

“Her—“

“To go!” I cut Greyson off, ignoring the questioning glance he was giving me.

I could practically feel the two Alphas’ gazes burning holes on the side of my head and I really didn’t want to stay in their sight anymore.

“Harry, you sure you don’t want to just sit down? It’s warm in here.” Greyson suggested, taking his pizza and handing the other one to me.

“Um, no. I’d really like to go rest in our dorm if you don’t mind.”

He nodded, “Alright, let’s head back then.”

I sighed thankfully, following him to the exit of the pizza place, only looking back once to see the bright blue and brown eyes still locked on me.
