Evelyn's POV
I was left standing there, knees weak as he went back inside to talk to our friends. I looked around the balcony, desperately searching for something to hold on to, or else I would fall. I wanted to tell someone about this, but I was afraid. But it was such a complicated situation, I didn't know how to handle it all on my own. Usually, my brother was the one that helped me when I needed guidance, but after all that has happened between him and Aiden, I didn't think it would be a good idea to ask for his advice on it.
"Just, please try to remember" his words replayed in my head.
I never believed people when they said that they didn't remember what they had done while drunk. I just didn't think it was possible. But in that moment, when I was standing in that balcony with no recollection of the things I did, I realized that a) I was wrong b) I was never drinking again.
My disphoria grew even more when I saw Bailey opening the glass door and coming my way. "Dude, what the hell?" she bluntatly asked me, crossing her arms. In a haze, I frowned "What?" more like what did I do this time? "Don't play dumb with me, something's wrong here. If you don't want to tell the others, at least tell me. Whatever it is, it's eating you alive girl"
I wanted to tell her, but as I said, it's a complicated story and I didn't know how she'd react. Seeing my pale face and blurry eyes, she took me to one of the tables. When we sat down, I tried to avoid her intense gaze, I really didn't know what to say to her. "Go ahead talk to mamma" she said and interwined her hands together on top of the table.
I took a deep breath, I can trust Bailey, she's- she's Bailey. "Last night, after you guys left, me and Aiden decided to hang out a bit. During that, I very stupidly thought it would be a good idea for us to drink some more" I started and felt my cheeks heat up at my confession, even though I hadn't said much yet. She shook her head "Whose house did you trash and in how much debt are you two in?" she asked, lowering her voice. I giggled, "No one's and none, at least I hope so. I don't know, I don't really remember." I explained and sighed, I hated not having control.
"We've all been there, it happens at least once a lifetime. Don't punish yourself for letting loose" her hand went over mine, reassuringly. I wish that was the problem though. "That's not the problem. Aiden claims we did something very wrong but won't tell me what it is because he wants me to remember my self. I'm anxious" I confessed and my hands went to my hair. I could feel Aiden's eyes on me from inside, but chose to ignore him.
"That's what you're going crazy over? Girl I bet he's fucking with you, after all it's not like y'all fooled around or something" she laughed and sat back on her chair, brushing it off. Not me though, her words struck something inside of me. It's not like we fooled around or something.
He licked his lips, my own parting slightly. His eyes locked with mine once more, seeking approval. I nodded, granting him access and he wasted no more time.
His lips touched mine so delicately, it was like feathers were touching me, almost like he was afraid to move with more force, as if my lips were made of paper-thin glass and would break. I sighed slightly, one arm hooking itself to his shoulder when he gripped on my waist, the other touching his chin. The skin was a bit rough from the slight stubble that was starting to form. He was cold and I couldn't tell if it was from the wine spilled or if it was just his natural temperature. Without realizing it I rested one of my legs on his lap, making him pull me on top of him.
My mouth fell open, gaze falling on the pure void ahead of me. A hand went to my lips. What had we done? How the hell did I forget that?
Bailey noticed the change in my attitude and frowned, turning to look at what I was looking at. "What is it?" she asked concerned but also confused. Both hands went to the roots of my hair, pulling on it, and I could only hope Aiden couldn't see me. How far did we go? How did I let this happen? I couldn't face Bailey, I couldn't possibly tell her that I made out with my childhood best fr-
"Oh my God. Oh my fucking God you did!" she exclaimed, pointing to me, not accusingly. "My God this is unbelievable!" her hands went over her mouth as well and I shh'd her, as she was being too loud and people were starting to stare at us. She covered her mouth and her head fell on the table as she started laughing hysterically. "Dude, it's not funny" I hit her on the top of her head but couldn't stop myself from chuckling as well.
"Oh, Ivory cannot hear about this, everyone in our high- no, no, in our state will know within hours" she kept laughing and I hit her again. "Bailey, I swear if you tell her anything I will murder you" I threatened her, panic settling in the bottom of my stomach. "Relax, I'm only playing with you, this stays between us" she assured me, sobering up from her laughing fit.
"I didn't know you had feelings for him like that" she said her voice low. "I didn't either, I guess it was the alcohol or something" I replied, thoughtful. I didn't have these kind of feelings for Aiden, really, I didn't know what went over me in that moment.
"Listen, booze makes people make dumb decisions. But, they're all stuff they wanted to do while sober but didn't have the balls to. I'm a firm believer of drunk words are sober thoughts" she explained. "Maybe you hadn't realized it?" she asked.
I shook my head, there was no way I had feelings for Aiden and hadn't realized it. You can't just have feelings for someone and not know. The way I viewed Aiden hadn't changed much from when we were younger, I did recognise puberty had been more than generous on him, but I didn't see him as anything more than a friend; the only thing I could blame this on would be- and I hate to say it- jealousy. When he opened up to me about his girlfriend- well, he didn't exactly open up, I interrogated him but you get the point- the feeling of being left out and pushed to the side made me mad.
Very shitty of me, I know, but that's the only thing that made sense as to why I let something like that happen. The real question was why did he do it?
"I don't know" I brushed it off to Bailey, I didn't want to make a mess of the already existing mess. After making her promise to me once more that she wouldn't say anything to anyone, we decided to go back inside. Halfway to the door, she asked "Are you sure you want to be next to him right now?" she sounded like a concearned mom, dropping her kid off to school on its first day, and to be honest that's exactly what I needed in that moment. I was thankful- to say the least- that I had her. "I'll be alright, I managed to be next to him since we were five" she laughed and teased me "Poor you".
We went back inside, Bailey ahead of me, almost trying to shield me from the stares coming from our table. "You guys aren't dead? Shocker" Parker exclaimed and Noah snickered, Jagger hitting him in the back of the head. "Hey, how many more of these will I get today?" Noah complained. Jagger calmly took a sip of his Cola before replying "A lot", the rest of the guys just chuckled and shook their heads.
"Eve, you look like you saw a ghost, you feeling alright?" Ivory asked me, worried look splattered on her face. Maya agreed, teasing me "A ghost? No, she looks like she's been ran over by a train or something", to which Ivory agreed "You were outside for quite some time, talk to us?"
Bailey came to my rescue before Maya cut her off "Let her-" "-Let her be, we know" she said, repeating the same words Bailey had used during our phone call earlier. "Your mother instincts are extremely high resently Bey, anything you want to tell us?" Ivory, raised her eyebrows, earning a hit from Bailey "Knock it off you doofus" she threatened. I giggled, earning Aiden's attention. He remained silent through all of this, and when his eyes locked on mine, my cheeks went red. After remembering what went down between us, I didn't know how to talk to him.
Even if I didn't have any romantic feelings for him, we made out and I couldn't look at him the same way anymore. I played it cool and went back to my seat. We talked about school and how we dreaded going back on Monday, another subject Aiden stayed silent on until he was called. "How lucky even are you dude, you get to stay home" Noah nudged his shoulder and Aiden shook his head "Homeschool is just as boring as regular school, plus I don't get the pleasure of beating the crap out of you two everyday" Aiden responded, answering one of the unanswered questions I had, being whether or not he went to school.
"So, do you idiots plan on staying much longer? We were in the middle of something here" Bailey blatantly interrupted "Hold up, if you three plan on having a threes-" Aiden and Jagger cut him off by simultaneously hitting him in the back of the head "Ow-, at least let us watch"
"No, you disgusting, immature, pig, and even if we were planning on doing so, you'd be the last people we'd invite" Ivory chimed in, annoyed, while Maya stood still, semi-terrified "Alright, that's enough socializing for me" she said and grabbed her trash, shoving it to the nearby bin.
"As I was saying, we're going to go lingerie shopping now, will you cavemen be able to act civilized without us?" Ivory said, doing the same as Maya. "Evelyn and Maya are going lingerie shopping? Wow, did you guys finally learn that babies aren't brought to your doorstep? " Noah continued, proving my point that he hasn't matured much. How does the saying go... oh right; men stop maturing after the age of seven, they only grow in height after that.
"It's so sad how in a few years you'll be able to experience that, as there's no other way for you to have a baby with that repelling attitude". Noah and I loved teasing each other, so my words weren't taken to heart. To the sound of my voice, Aiden's head turned to me, his stare intense. I turned to look at him, eyes locking. I felt my knees weaken, flashbacks from the previous night coming back to life, sending heatwaves all throughout my body.
I sat on his lap, one of his arms holding my waist tightly while the other rubbed my back tenderly, my skin heating up under his touch. I slid my hands to the back of his neck, and pulled on the little hairs in the back, making a small groan leave his lips. My entire body was on fire, and nothing was enough. I needed him even closer, as close as I could possibly be. The fire ran hotter when his hands ran over the clasp of my bra, making me gasp as unholy thoughts ran across my mind. My mouth opened slightly, allowing him to deepen the kiss by sliding his tongue in my mouth and I moaned, reciprocating the action.
I shook my head and turned away from him, feeling warmth coarse to my cheeks, making me turn red. I looked down at my lap and bit my lip, I shouldn't be thinking of him like this, but the reminiscence of his hands on me made me see him differently. Thankfully, no one noticed our little interaction as well as my reaction, as they were too busy bickering around with each other. Clearing my throat, I figured something to get me far away from him as quick as possible.
"Girls, if you don't mind, I have to be home by five so i'd appreciate it very much if we got going" I stood up to encourage them, shooting a pointed look to my dear savior, also known as Bailey. Ivory frowned and opened her mouth to complain but Bailey covered it by agreeing with me and standing up as well, pointing to the girls to do the same. Aiden also got up, checking the time before speaking "Boys, if you'll excuse me, I have to get to training" they quickly exchanged handshakes. As for us, he quickly passed by, saying "Later, ladies" without turning to look at us though.
We said our goodbyes with the guys and walked towards the lingerie shop. Mind you, I've never been to one of those before, my underwear were the ones that came in packs- two white, two tan, two black. Lace? I do not know her. Lingerie shops terrified the crap out of me. Especially when I thought about the time when I would go with my mum. When I was little and me and my mum went to the mall, she would always go to those places and leave me roaming the halls as she would spend the next hour picking sets to please her numerous boyfriends. She'd find me eventually and lay out her purchases on the ice cream shop's table, asking me if I thought they were sexy enough- I was ten.
"I thought we were hanging out in Bailey's place after this, you didn't tell us you had to be home by five" Maya said and I shh'd her, worrying that the boys could hear us "I dont have to be back by five, I just wanted to get away from them" I explained but she turned even more confused than she was before. "But why did you-" Bailey cut her off by grabbing her arm and pulling her to walk faster "Too many questions, come with me"
"Here we are" Ivory stopped us, standing in front of the lingerie store with flashing pink and red lights. Ivory and Bailey walked straight in, leaving me and Maya staring at it. "We have no other option than to go inside, you know" she said, her sure words not matching her facial expressions. " I know". We took some very reluctant steps and before we could do anything, two girls that worked there welcomed us and started bombarding us with questions. Soon, we were seperated and Ivory and Bailey were nowhere to be found. Endless sets were shown to me and I very politely tried telling the nice woman that I wasn't interested in buying anything, I just went there to accompany my friends.
Something you should know about me, I'm very good at sneaking out of situations I don't want to be in. Having spent years living with my mum, I eventually learned how to get my way, while seeming like the nicest person on the planet.
That said, I don't understand how I ended up in a dressing room, with five pairs of underwear to be tried on. The pair sitting in front of me was the worst of all. The bottom looked way too small to cover any parts of my friend down there, while the top- well let's just say I couldn't figure out how the heck I could get that on my body without suffocating.
Eventually, I managed to get the pieces on me, and I have to admit I looked... good. I felt empowered and more of a woman than I ever had. Although it accentuated my curves, it was still too revealing for me to pull off. Thinking about it, it would be a fun little secret for me to have on underneath my clothes. It would give me a boost of confidence, and no one would know as no one would ever see them.
I got a text from Ivory that she and the girls were going to the cashier and would wait for me outside, so I started removing my very fancy underwear to get dressed- the problem of the matter was, I couldn't get them off.
After minutes of fighting around with the set, I realized I would tear it to shreds if I kept fighting around like a seal outside of the water. Being at her mercy once more, I called Bailey. "Where are you" she very unenthusiastically said from the other side of the line. "I need help" I whispered as there were girls in the dressing rooms surrounding my own. "What is it this time?" she asked, impatient. "Can you just get over here?" I said and she sighed dramatically before hanging up. I could only hope that she was on her way and didn't leave me in a dressing room with a pair of lingerie I couldn't get out of.
A minute later I saw Bailey passing by, looking for me "Psst... psst" I waved my hand around outside of the curtain "What happened, why are you still in there?" she asked, and brought her face closer to the curtain "I told you, I need help with something" I explained. "Listen here, I'm not Aiden, so if you want to play out your fantasy of getting fucked in the dressing room I can call him real quick" smacking her head with my hand I shh'd her worried that someone would hear us and recognise the name. Our town wasn't huge, and everyone knew everyone.
I grabbed my shirt and tried to cover my body as well as I could, before pulling her by the colar and dragging her inside of the dressing room "Dude what the fuck" she whisper-yelled at me. Without talking, I removed my shirt and motioned towards my very humble 'outfit'. "Okay listen, you know I swing both ways but you're a friend, and not my type" she grabbed the shirt and tried covering me up. Hitting myself on the head, I spoke, frustrated "Dude can you focus on me for one second, I put this on 'cause a girl forced me to and now I can't get it off. Help me please?"
"As I said before, let me call Aiden real quick " she sneakily laughed, pulling out her phone from her back pocket. I grabbed the phone from her hand "We're not like that" I whisper - yelled but it only made her laugh some more. "Stop laughing" I sat in one of the little stools and threw my shirt on her face. I was desperate to get these things off- the top piece was too small and it would surely leave marks if I didn't take it off quickly. "Alright, alright I'll help you" she muttered.
Narrator's POV
"Put your clothes back on so we can get out of here" one of the girls spoke but Lindsay had other plans. Not moving a single muscle to put her clothes back on, she continued taking photos on the dressing room mirror, showing off her body. I might not be in his head, but I'm still the one in his bed, she thought and started posing to make her underwear seem even more revealing.
"I'll put my clothes back on when I'm finished, now stop getting on my ass" she muttered from the other side of the curtain, her tone remaining collected and emotionless. She had enough power to control anything that moved, with the name her father held, and she absolutely knew it.
Eventually, she got dressed, having taken enough pictures to lure in her beloved boyfriend. Gathering all of her things, she reached for the curtain, when the sound of a voice made her stop on her tracks. It wasn't the voice she cared about, but the name that was spat out. Sticking her head to the wall seperating her from the girl in the dressing room next to her, she held her breath, a dark, murderous tone taking over her features.
"Listen here, I'm not Aiden so if you want to play out your fantasy of getting fucked in the dressing room I can call him real quick"Â she heard a girl say, flames bursting from her eyes.
Maybe it was a different Aiden, she told herself, trying to keep her composure. She waited for the right moment to pull the curtain open but when she did, she was sure that these two poor-looking, little sluts were in fact talking about her boyfriend. As she watched them walk out and move towards the checkouts, she knew exactly who she was looking at, and it made her want to break apart the entire store.
Not that she couldn't do it if she wanted to, she knew that no matter how big the damage was, she'd come out untouched. 'Thanks, daddy'Â she thought to herself but pushed the violent thoughts to the back of her head.
"Light brown hair, medium height, mediocre body and a silly looking face. Pathetic little Evelyn Hayes, you won't be laughing when you see what I have in store for you" she spoke through gritted teeth, her 'friends' not daring to ask what was wrong. Reaching for her back pocket, Lindsay pulled out her phone and dialed the boss' phone number, but stopped herself before she called him. She would destroy this girl, but she didn't need want any help this time. No, this time, she'd handle it herself. Only the thought made her smirk, what a pleasure that would be, she thought to herself.
Erasing the digits she had dialed, she called her dear boyfriend instead. If this scum had dared cheat on her with that, he was over before you could say 'Black'. "Hello?" she heard his deep voice from the other side of the line "I want you in my room in thirty minutes. We need to have a little chat" she spoke, voice assertive, before hanging up.
And with that final request from her, the game was on.
