"Do you have a date to the prom yet?" Ivory asked, catching my attention. "No, and I'm hoping it stays that way" I replied. This week was coming to end and everyone at school was occupied searching for either a costume or a date for the 'prom'. Our school was throwing a party to gather money for the cheer squad but they called it a prom instead.

"Girl what are you talking about, Bryan has a sweet tooth for you, why don't you go with him?" she continued, and I looked at bailey, hoping she would jump in and save me. she shook her head, but unfortunately, instead of punching her, I still had to reply. "Even if that's true, I dont think Ill be going to prom anyway."  I said, but Ivory being Ivory, she didn't drop it.

"You cannot be serious" she said making Maya murmur. "Not this again". Bailey simply rolled her eyes. "I am though. There's nothing that makes me want to go". I stated and it was half-true. There's only one person in this school I'd want to go with, but as you know, if he ends up going, he's going with the one girl that's been making my life miserable.

"But why? Come on, this is our last year in this hell-hole, and that prom is one of the only fun things we'll get to experience here. Don't miss it" she put her hand on mine, and I looked at our joined hands, before looking away.

"There's nothing I want to remember about this school. Only you guys." I said, and she gave me a little smile.

Soon, we were joined by the boys. "Are you talking about us, again?" Noah teased, taking a seat next to me. "You know I'm always talking about you" I teased him and he pretended to blush. "Stop it, we're not alone" he played along.

"Enough you two, we can't take you anywhere" Ivory chimed in, making us chuckle. "Y'all heard about the prom?" Parker asked, and I wanted to rip out every single hair on my head. "We were just talking about that" Maya responded.

"So? You goin'?" he continued and an awkward silence fell upon us. Aiden kept his gaze elsewhere, probably hoping he'd be invisible if he did so. "Yes, all of us" Ivory spoke, and I turned to protest, but someone else spoke first.

"All of you?" Aiden asked, and even though the question was directed towards Ivory, it was me he was looking at.

"Yes"

"No"

Me and Ivory both said at the same time, making the guys all look at us, clearly confused. "Eve over here doesn't want to go" she explained, tapping my head slightly. "Enough about me" I said, trying to direct the conversation to what I wanted to find out. "Are you guys going?" I asked, turning the attention to them.

"If I find a date, why not" Jagger said, and I caught his gaze falling on Maya for a split second, before he directed it elsewhere. I nodded. "Proms aren't really my thing but maybe I'll give it a shot" Parker said next.

"You?" I looked at the reason I asked this question in the first place. He looked caught off guard for a second, sighing shortly before he answered. "I don't know". His answer wasn't satisfactory.

"Aren't you going with Lindsay?" Noah asked him, making most of the table roll her eyes. As much as I wanted to, I kept my composure. "I might" he simply stated and I felt a slight pinch on my chest.

"You, Noah?" Bailey asked him, sensing my discomfort, and he looked at his feet for a moment, before answering. "I don't think so" he said. I turned to him. "Why not?" I asked, realizing the irony of the situation, as I was just having the same conversation with Ivory.

"I don't know, why aren't you going? Scared you won't find a date?" Noah teased me. "Not at all. You're the one that should be scared" I fired back and he smirked, nodding. "I see how it is." he said, pausing for a second. "How about, we make this interesting." he suggested.

"I don't like where this is going" Parker sang. "Continue" I said. "We have a friendly challenge. We both go, and whoever finds a date first, wins. If I win, you'll do my homework for a month." he proposed. "If I win?" I asked. "If you win, you get whatever you want" he replied.

"Big words, Noah. Okay... what if we both lose and neither of us has found a date?" I asked. He thought about it. "Then we have to go together" he said. I looked at Bailey, unsure, and she raised a shoulder. I turned to Noah "Deal" I spoke before thinking about it too much.

We shook hands and from the corner of my eye I caught Aiden, who didn't look very amused. "Oh, boy" Jagger whispered. Oh, boy indeed.

"You wanna tell me what the fuck that was" Aiden whispered. I had the privilege to share a class with him and since Bailey didn't show up, he sat next to me. "What was what" I whispered back, doing my best to continue taking notes.

"The whole prom thing with Noah" ah, this will be fun. "I don't know what you were expecting Aiden, and really you're not in the place to be talking right now." I said, still not looking at him.

"Me? What did I do?" he asked, and I really wanted to hit him on the head with a book, or maybe stab him in the eye with the pen I was holding. "You're going with Lindsay, are you seriously asking me that?"

"I only said that so that they'd get off my back about it, are you really mad about that?" he said, slightly raising his tone, making our teacher 'sh' us. I put a finger over my lips, telling him to shut the hell up before we got kicked out.

"How the fuck was I supposed to know that?" I lowered my voice even more than before to reply.  "I don't know, maybe from the fact that I have no interest in going with her as I've told you multiple times?" he said, and I rolled my eyes "It's not like you have a choice Aiden. Who else could you go with? Me? Better do it before they chop us up and throw us in a ditch"

He looked away, and I pretended to pay attention to the paragraph we were reading. "You gon' look for a date now?" he asked after a while, the anger that was previously evident in his voice now having disappeared. I sighed. "I still don't want to go. Noah will find a date in the next like three seconds and I'll be free from this bs at last." I explained.

I have to admit agreeing to Noah's challenge was a very impulsive decision that I was lead to mostly because I wanted to get back at Aiden for saying he'd go with Lindsay. I had no intention of looking for a date, so the plan was basically to let Noah win this, as he would even if I did look for a date.

"What if Axel asks you. You're gonna go with him?" he continued and my eyes widened. Axel. I had completely forgotten about him and the possibility of him asking me.  "You sound crazy right now, but no I won't" I said, biting my thumb nail. I really hoped Axel wasn't interested in stuff like the prom, 'cause turning him down after what he saw at the parking lot would be risky.

Suddenly, I felt a hand on my own. I looked at Aiden, who resembled a wet kitten. "Forgive me for acting crazy today?" he said and I sighed. "I forgive you" I said and he gave me a smile. To be completely honest I wasn't sure about what I was telling him. I only knew I wanted nothing but peace between us.

"Look at his y'all" Ivory said, enthusiasm clear in her face as she tried on yet another dress. "It looks amazing" I said, admiring her beauty. She had picked a long white dress, filled with laced details. It accentuated her figure perfectly, and she looked like an absolute princess.

"You think so?" she asked, picking on it and twirling around in front of the mirror, dissatisfaction on her face. "Dude, are you kidding? No doubt about it" Maya agreed.

She went back in the changing room and came back out, the dress in her hand. "I think I'll go with this one. If I don't we'll probably be here for another three hours" she said, taking a seat next to me. "Found anything you like?" she asked me, and I shook my head.

"Not really, I think I'll just wear something from my closet" I said, when in reality I wasn't even looking in the first place. I was hoping I could call it off last minute and just stay home. "How about you, Maya?" she asked, and Maya sighed. "I don't know, I think most stuff here Is too revealing for me." she said, fiddling with the rings on her fingers.

"You can borrow something from us if you feel like it, you don't have to buy something" Bailey told her, and she nodded. "B, I love you, but I don't think our styles are exactly anything alike" she said, and we all laughed.

"Hey, we're still here" I said. "Maybe you can stop by my place later, see if there's anything you like" I suggested, to which she agreed.

Ivory and Bailey grabbed their dresses and we walked towards the register. They paid for the ridiculously overpriced dresses, and we were on our way.

We reached the door, stumbling upon a group of girls that hindered our way out. Once they were  all inside the store, I came face to face with Satan herself. She simply smirked.

"Hi, girls!"
