Aiden's POV (a few hours earlier)
I wiggled my hands once again trying to find a way to set myself free. No luck. Lindsay did as I told her; she took me to Jason. The only problem was, I was in an entirely different room, my hands tied behind my back on a metallic pole, legs tied together. The second we got to the warehouse, five men surrounded the car, and suddenly i had five guns to my head. Good job, Sherlock, that'll get you Jason.
I needed to find a way to untie myself while I was still conscious. I had lost a lot of blood, and had already blacked out once, it was only a matter of time before it happened again. I looked around the room, searching for anything I could use to cut the ropes. If I broke the window I could use the glass, but to do that I'd have to already be free.
Think damn it. A sharp pain that shot through my leg made me fold in half and hiss. I looked at the wound; it had bled through the bandage that she had wrapped around it, and overall it wasn't looking good.
The sound of Lindsay's heels against the steel floor reminded me I had a bigger issue to deal with. She walked in confidently, and I noticed that she hadn't overlooked retouching her hair and makeup. "Made yourself comfortable?" she asked, closing the door behind her. "Your lil' friends made sure to take care of me" my face was still pulsing from the punches I earned myself earlier and I was sure I'd be bruised in multiple places tomorrow. Not that it was on the top of my worries.
"That could've been avoided." she said, checking her nails. Her ignorance made me furious. "When will i see Jason" i asked, but it sounded more like a demand; not that I was in the place to be making any. She smirked, and kneeled in front of me. "Always so impatient" her hand caressed my cheek in a way someone could even find loving, if I hadn't been tied to a pole.
I turned my head way, trying to conceal her from my head, but her perfume filled my nose, feeling like acid. "Such a shame, I thought you were smarter than this" she dragged her hand down my arm, before getting up. She walked around me, with such confidence that she actually looked like she was enjoying the situation. I scoffed. "And I thought you were more humane. He's a child, he was no business being here". I said, but she just laughed and played with her hair. "You should have thought of that before you tried to fool me".
Another sharp pain shot through my leg, making me hiss and fold in half, or at least as much as my restrains allowed. That, seemed to catch her attention. "What is it? What's wrong?" she threw away her cigarette to the corner and ran to kneel in front of me. "What do you think it is?" I choked out, pointing to my leg.
She pulled her hair away from her face, to take a look at the wound, with such concern that she seemed to have forgotten how I got it in the first place. I flinched every time her fingers tried to touch the bloody bandage, a reaction that worried her even more.
That's when i got it.
"It's a mess, I think it needs to be cleaned" I said and she gazed the wound once, then at me, then back at it. "I can't clean it it's full of blood and other shit" she shook her head, disgusted. I sighed. "Well it can't stay like that, it'll get infected" I said, knowing infection was the least of my worries, with a bullet stuck in my leg. She froze. "Infected? Doesn't that mean you'll lose your leg or some shit?" she asked, now in panic.
I avoided to correct her. "Yes, yes I could, so do something" I replied, doing my best do seem anxious. She got up and ran a hand through her hair, pacing around nervously. I frowned. "What are you doing?" I asked, wondering how a person that freaks out over a little blood could have orchestrated an entire abduction. "What does it look like I'm doing? Thinking" she spat out. I hit my head against the pole.
"There's nothing to think about, go get someone that can clean it" I suggested, making her frown. "I knew that, i was gonna say it. Now stay here" she said, storming out.
"Like I have another choice"
~~~
"Damn, that looks tough" said the guy Lindsay sent to take a look at the wound. "No shit" I muttered, searching him for something, anything I could use to set myself free. No luck. He untied my legs, before trying to find a way to unwrap the stained bandage, but the blood had dried, making it stick to the skin.
He cursed under his breath, pulling out a switchblade out of his pocket. Carefully, he cut the fabric that seemed almost glued together, and I hid the smirk that was forming on my lips, when he left the pocket knife a little too close to me.
He lowered his head even more, to find the edges of the bandage and pull it off. I folded my right leg slightly, making the idiot frown. "If you were tied up here for this long, you'd be sore too" I explained, acting like I'm shaking it off. He nodded, uttering something in the lines of 'I get it,' but i couldn't give a single fuck what he had to say. He went back to failing miserably in removing the bandage, while I made sure I didn't hear anyone in the hallway.
Using all the strength i had left, I landed a kick on his head, making him swing back and hit his head against the steel machinery. It gave me just enough time to let myself loose. With my knee, i pushed the switchblade as close to my hands as possible, and after a lot of uncomfortable wiggling around, I got it in my hands.
The man in front of me layed unconcious, but I couldn't bring myself to worry about whether he still had a heartbeat or not. All i could think about were the endless cuts i was giving myself and the fact that i only had very little time before Lindsay came to check on me.
Finally, i managed to cut the rope enough to slide my hands out, but then i had to deal with another problem. I could barely stand. I grabbed the nearest wall and basically dragged myself near the guy that was supposed to be helping me. Quickly, i realised there was no way to carry him with one leg.
"Don't be a pussy" with a deep breath, my foot touched the ground, and i had to keep myself from crying out i pain. Grabbing his arms, i dragged him to the pole and tied his hands with the remaining rope. A piece of his own shirt muzzled him, and i knew it wouldn't last long if he woke up, but it was my only option.
Peaking through the door, I saw an empty corridor;Â it's my chance to find Jason.
Narrator's POV
We're screwed. That was the only thought running through Evelyn's mind as she hid in the car, waiting for Cole's signal. Their only way of getting inside was a window in the back, which Axel had told them about. What Axel didn't say, were the two huge men guarding the back, or the fact that their only chance of them going away, was Cole.
"What are you doing back here" one of them asked, frowning. "The real question is, why you two are still here" Cole said, putting on his best act to seem like a furious boss who caught his employees slacking off. They chuckled. "Who put a stick up your ass?" the other teased him, and as much as his ego wanted him to say something back, he knew they had no time for shit like that.
"Let's see how funny you find this. Evelyn has gone nuts and she's about to call the cops and lead them straight to us. You two were supposed to be on your way to shut her mouth and instead you're over here making jokes" he spat out, thanking the Lord that he was able to come up with a lie that fast.
Without another word, they made a run for the car, leading to Aiden's -empty- house, as told by Cole. He just hoped they'd have gotten both Jason and lover-boy out by the time they got there- or worse, spoke with Lindsay.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the warehouse stood Ivory -who tried her best not to look like she had just earned herself a beating - and Axel, who probably feared for his life more than the girl next to him.
"Why's she here?" was the first thing to come out of Lindsay's mouth, who was already getting suspicious. "You're not the only one who got something out of this" Ivory smirked, and on cue, the dark haired boy looped his arm around her shoulders.
Raising an eyebrow, her gaze travelled between the happy couple, arms crossed over her chest. "What do I owe the pleasure to" she asked, her patience running thin and not even five minutes had passed. Then again, time is money to her and they weren't making her any.
"I see you're enjoying my space" Axel said, walking inside with Ivory following suit, trying to keep her pace as steady and confident as possible, when on the inside, Lindsay's presense behind her made her insides turn.
"Just spit it out already I don't have all day" she rolled her eyes, bored to death by their interaction. But there was a small part of her, that couldn't help but feel anxious by their sudden visit.
"If i remember correctly, - which I do-, you owe me something" Axel said, using the fact that he still hadn't gotten paid to their advantage. Truth was, he didn't want a single penny of that money, now that he realised what he had helped happen. He thought of how he could make use of it for something good, maybe even a gift for Evelyn's family, as he put it in his pocket.
"You got what we agreed on, now go" Lindsay spat, her heel bouncing up and down against the floor, showing her irritation. "One more thing. I need to see the kid" he said, making the raven-haired girl burst into laughter. "You think you can burst in here and ask for shit?" she said in between laughter fits.
Axel chuckled himself, and took one step closer to her. "You know what happens if I don't see him?" he said, but she smirked deviously. "Amuse me" she challenged. "Cole was no idea how to find this place, and you're not picking up the damn phone so he's going nuts. If I don't make sure the kid is well, he can take all of us down 'cause he can't see past his own fucking self" he explained, and he could see in her eyes that she fell for it.
She remembered Cole's numerous outbursts that had put them in danger many times in the apst, she didn't want to imagine what could happen this time.
But still, she wasn't backing down that easy. "So why don't you just lie?" she proposed, earning another chuckle from him. "'Cause I don't trust you either" he said, and she caught on to what he really meant.
"Fine. But she stays here" she said, referring to Ivory, who anxiously glanced at the men spread out in the room. Axel turned to look at her, giving a very subtle nod, and she winked back. A wordless exchange, that set the plan in motion. It was time for Ivory to do what she did best. Flirt.
