Song: If I could fly

Lyrics: Pay attention I hope that you listen, Cause I let my guard down

Now you know me,

For your eyes only.

Artemis' Pov

It took a lot of thinking on my part before coming to this decision.

"W-what?" He stutters, staring at me in surprise. I let go of his wrist, taking a step back as I nod my head.

"Follow me." I state blankly, running out of the house. I hear his steps behind me as we run through the dark forest. It's a full moon tonight, the perfect opportunity for him to be able to see my wolf. The cold wind blows on my face, cooling down the anger I felt at myself. He deserves to know the truth even if he already does.

I stop at the field of flowers, the snow covering it. My back faces him, as I look at the night sky a sad smile on my face.

"Artemis you don't have to-

"I do." I cut him off, turning around to face him. Taking deep breathes, I close my eyes, going down on one knee as I place my hand flatly on the ground, murmuring words under my breath. The wind picks up speed, surrounding as until it stops and everything suddenly becomes quiet. Opening my eyes, I see Storm staring around us in awe before his gaze lands on me.

"How?" He trails off and I smile.

"I learnt magic from my mother and Esme as well." I tell him, looking around at the field that once used to be covered in snow only to see the flowers blooming beautifully under the moonlight. Storm gulps, still staring around in shock and I take a step forward.

"I know that Arson has told you that I am a goddess and to be honest that is not how I planned to tell you the truth." I sigh, looking at the sky with a smile. "Sometimes I wish I could go back and do things differently because my past is not something I'm proud of."

Storm doesn't say anything, just watching me with that same blank look on his face.

I walk closer to him, wrapping my arms around his waist and bury my face in his chest as he scent calms my nerves. "I don't know what Arson told you but I'm letting my guard down and giving you all of me Storm."

My voice cracks and I feel his arms wrapping around me pulling closer into his warmth.

"It's alright." He mumbles stroking the back of my hair and I shake my head at him.

"No. I need to do this." I say and take a step back before standing on my tip toes and placing my finger on his forehead. "This might hurt a little." I mumble.

Storm's pov

The ground beneath me suddenly disappears, an excruciating pain in my head forces a scream out of my mouth. So many voices whisper in my ear, all trying to get my attention as I continue falling and falling until it's all quiet.

I pant heavily, rubbing my temples as the pain slowly dies down.

"Are you okay?" A soft voice asks and I raise my head to see Artemis staring down at me worriedly. I gulp, nodding my head as I stand to my feet. I frown to myself as I take in my surroundings. We are still in the field of flowers but it's day time and the weather seems to be a bit different than normal.

Turning around I open my mouth ready to ask Artemis what is happening only for the words to get stuck in my throat watching the serene and peaceful smile on her face.

This is the first time I'm seeing such a bright smile on her face and I wish such a smile would remain on her face for the rest of our lives. She slowly breaths in deeply and opens her eyes.

My whole world stops when the most brightest pair of violet eyes turns to face me with that same beautiful smile gracing her lips. Enchanted by her, I step closer, stopping right in front of her.

I cup her cheeks, rubbing the pads of my thumb on it. "So beautiful."

She lowers her eyes, her lashes lightly brushing against her cheeks, a soft smile on her lips as she blushes and nuzzles her face against my palm. I feel a surge of emotions rising within me but one stands out a lot and that is love.

I'm momentarily stunned about my own thoughts. Do I love her? Taking every inch of her face and how much she has really made me happy despite everything that has happened, I can't help but feel so much adoration for the woman in my arms.

"Can I kiss you?" I whisper into the silence, too afraid to disturb the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life.

She bites her bottom lip before shyly nodding and raises her eyes to stare into my own. My mouth becomes dry and I gulp before slowly leaning in and pressing my lips against hers.

I don't move my lips, just keeping it pressed against hers as I feel the softness of her lips caressing my own. I pull back, raising my lips to kiss her forehead, her nose before pecking both her cheeks.

She giggles and my heart lurches at the sound of it. God I love her.

"Storm." She breathes out, a sad smile on her face as she stares at me. "Whatever you see here please don't ever hate me or leave me."

I open my mouth ready to say something but she cuts me of with her lips before pulling away quickly. My face softens seeing the distressed look in her eyes and I smile at her.

"I already told you that you belong in my arms."

"Forever and always?" "She says hesitantly and I grin, pulling her into my arms and rest the side of my face against her hair.

"Forever and always."

She sighs, nodding her head before she pulls back but then grabs my hands and intertwine our fingers together. I look around us and the question I wanted to ask suddenly comes back again.

"Where are we?"

She smiles. "We're in my past."

My jaw drops as I stare at her with wide eyes and she chuckles. Taking my surroundings in I frown to myself.

"But this looks exactly like the where we were." I mutter confusedly and she nods her head.

"That's because it is. I built my pack where my parents first met." She says and begins to walk, dragging me with her.

"So you're saying that we're in---"

"Yes Storm, we are in the world where the gods and goddess roamed the earth. We are back in the beginning of the creation of werewolves."

Her words hit me as I take everything. We are in so many centuries before I was born and how- I bring my gaze to the woman beside me, watching as she takes everything with a fond smile.

"I never visit my past even though I have the ability to because it's something that for the most part I was growing up, I wished to erase." She murmurs, caressing the petals of the swaying flowers.

"Why do you wish not to remember?" I question.

Her shoulders slump in defeat and she looks at me with sad eyes. "Because I was a monster after my parents died."

After she said that, it was quiet between us. Each of us in our own thoughts as we strolled through the fields. Why would she think she was a monster?

Lost in thoughts, I don't realize that Artemis has stopped until I bump into her back, wrapping my arms quickly around her waist to keep her from falling.

She doesn't even bother with it as she continues to stare straight ahead and that's when I hear it. The most angelic giggles ever.

Looking forward, I see a child maybe around the age of three being thrown up in the sky only to caught by a man. He swings her around and she giggles, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck as she buries her face there.

Her black hair sways with the wind and I feel an automatic pull towards the person. She takes her head from his neck and my eyes widen in disbelief as violet eyes stare brightly into the man's face.

I whip my head to stare at Artemis, watching as she smiles at the person. Oh my God is that mini Artemis?

"Again, again, again!" The child chants, clapping the hands excitedly and the man laughs doing it again. Looking at the scene in front of me sends nothing but warmth and happiness into my heart.

Who would have thought that there was a time when Artemis looked extremely adorable and happy.

"I remember this day like it was yesterday." She says staring at her own self being thrown upwards.

"Is that your dad?" I question watching as the man carries Artemis away. I look sideways when she doesn't answer me and my face softens at the sad look in her eyes.

She turns to face me, nodding her head.

I look forward, staring at the back of them as they disappear into the distance. Artemis sighs and takes my hand pulling me in the direction that they just went in.

As we walk on, it becomes dark and I frown realizing we are in a different part of the huge forest, standing in front a cabin, the light on the front porch brightens the place.

"Where are we?"

Artemis doesn't answer me and I follow her gaze. My eyes go wide at the scene in front of me. A woman in a white dress, sits on a swing chair humming a tune that sounds so familiar as she lightly runs her finger through the hair of the child on her lap. Her white hair braided on the side, her lashes brushing her cheeks, with a beautiful smile adorning her lips.

She raises her head to look up to the sky and I'm stunned by her golden eyes with speckles of violet in them. The woman caresses the child's cheek, smiling to herself as if she has heard something when the door suddenly opens and a boy maybe around the age of seven suddenly stands in front of her with a glare on his face.

"Mom." He whines, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he glares at the child on the woman's lap.

"Yes dear." She says softly, so softly that her warmth can be felt from afar.

Artemis just continues watching and I don't have to be a genius to know that, that's her mom and brother. She looks nothing like her mom except for her eyes though but how come Artemis' has purely violet eyes?

The child puffs his cheek, pointing an accusing finger at the child on her lap. "Artemis stole my cookies."

As if being awoken by the sound of her being accused, she immediately raises her head from the mother's lap, a glare on her face as she narrows her eyes at the boy in front of her. "I did not steal your cookie Apollo, it was lying on the table without a name on it and I took it."

After saying that, she rests her head back on her mother's lap and takes her hand putting in back in her hair. I chuckle at her actions, somethings never change with Artemis. She always does that anytime I'm playing with her hair. If I suddenly stop, she'll just take my hand and put it back on her head.

Apollo huffs, stomping his feet on the ground as he continues to glare at Artemis. "Well it was mine and you shouldn't have taken it."

Little Artemis ignores him and continues to enjoy her hair being played with as a smile graces her face.

I shift my gaze to the woman beside me, her eyes staring mischievously at the scene in front of her.

"You were quite the little mischief, weren't you?"

She shrugs. "Maybe but it was fun teasing my brother." And then she sighs, looking away from them to stare at me. "This is just how much we were happy Storm. Always bickering with each other, spending most nights on the porch whilst my mother would tell us everything about the stars and my dad would be cuddling us from behind."

I frown, listening to the sadness in her voice as she recollect what has happened to her.

"But all that changed when he attacked."

After saying that, Artemis quickly grabs my hand and this time I feel the shift.

Opening my eyes, they suddenly go wide at what I'm staring at. The sky looks gloomy and grey. A fog surrounding the place as the smell of blood and smoke wafts through the atmosphere.

"Where are we?" I whisper.

"Where I lost my family." She grits out. Looking around, a gasp escapes me when I see three figures running in our direction. The fear reflected in their eyes as they run. The man grips the boy's hand whilst he carries the girl in his arms.

He suddenly stops in front of us and that's when I get a good look at his face. My jaw drops, eyes widening in disbelief.

Artemis looks like the exact replica of him minus the eyes. His eyes are green.

He looks back, eyes wide and I follow his direction. Men in golden armor chase them, their swords raised high up as cries of war escapes from their lips.

He suddenly puts Artemis down and turns to face the boy. "You need to take care of your sister. Find a place and hide but make sure you don't look back."

"But Papa-" The boy begins to protest and he shakes his head frantically cutting him off.

"Now is not the time. I need you to be brave for your sister." He says and leans forward placing a kiss on their forehead.

Little Artemis clutches his shirt tightly with sad eyes staring up at him. "Papa please..." She trails of and he smiles pulling her into a hug.

"Don't worry my darling. Always remember that we'll be up in the skies watching over you."

He lets go, placing her hand in her brothers own. "Now go and don't look back."

Apollo nods his head, dragging Artemis away. Their father watches them disappear into the thick forest and he smiles sadly. "I love you."

I turn my head to watch the expression on Artemis face and my heart breaks at the pained look in her eyes.

"He sacrificed so much just for us to live." She whispers. I pull her into my arms, tucking her head underneath my chin as run my fingers through her head.

"I'm so sorry Artemis." I mumble, wishing I could take her pain away.

She pulls back, taking deep breaths before focusing her gaze back on her father. I didn't even realized he was carrying a sword with him.

I have to say the man was very skillful with the sword, slaughtering them without mercy. His blade cut through the armour as if it was a piece of paper, swiftly dodging them. There's something strange about the sword he's using, maybe because of how to gleams in the light everytime he swings it around.

"What sword is that?" I question and Artemis smiles staring at her father.

"It's called the sword of death."

"The sword of death?" I repeat and she nods her head.

"My mother made that sword, with her blood. It can basically kill any god and can cut through the thickest of metals." She explains, clenching her fist tightly when an arrow pierces her father's leg, forcing him to go down on one knee.

"Where is it now?"

She shrugs, almost taking a step forward but stops. "I don't know."

The sword of death huh, sounds weird.

Artemis growls and I snap back into reality just in time to see a sword driven through the father's heart.

My breath hitches in my throat when they don't stop from there but cut his head off. Artemis doesn't say anything, her eyes filled with hatred as she watches her father's head roll over and stopping right at her feet.

His eyes wide open stare at us and I'm tempted to look away from how gruesome it looks.

So this is what really happened.

A lone tear falls from Artemis eyes before she sucks in a deep breath looking away.

"We need to go. My mom is about to destroy everything." She says and within a blink of an eye, I find myself standing in a large room.

Each corner of the room is filled with dead bodies, pools of blood on the floor and on the wall. But that is not what makes me freeze.

What made me freeze was the sight of two bloody children standing in the mist of all the dead bodies.

The chest heaving up and down, blood covering their arms and legs and nails like claws dripping with blood.

The boy drops the sword on the ground, raises his head with golden eyes glowing brightly. He clenches his fist to his side, sweat and blood mixed on his hair and face as he looks around.

Little Artemis suddenly looks up and the sight of her makes the blood drain from my face as my body shudders.

A chilling and murderous look in her red eyes, almost burning like her flame. Her hair sticks to her face, as she stares at something in a distance from under her eyes.

She clenches her fist to her side and within seconds she disappears. The scene changes again and this time, we follow her to see her standing in front of two double doors.

From the inside you can hear music and people laughing and it seems to anger little Artemis because she suddenly kicks the door down, stepping in a growling loudly at them.

I look at her on my side only to see a blank look on her face as she watches her own self.

A mocking laugh resonates in the room and I look forward. His presence has me wanting to hide as he steps down from the throne.

Long curly hair reaches his shoulder, black eyes staring at the child, a muscular build towering over her making it seem as if Artemis is a bug which he can crush with his feet and lips pulled into a devilish smirk. "Are you lost little one?"

I clench my fist when he touches her, using his finger to tilt her chin up. "You seem lost."

"You killed my family." She says calmly, her words almost like a soft whisper. A much contrast to the chilling and threatening aura she is emitting.

He chuckles dropping his hand and stepping away from hair. "I've killed a lot of families little one."

Little Artemis suddenly chuckles and it sends shivers down my spine at how cold it sounds. " I'm going to rip your heart out for killing my parents Ares."

Ares? As in the Greek god of war?

He raises his brow, staring amusingly at Artemis. "I'm Ares, the god of war. I'd like to see you try and-----"

The words never get completed because he suddenly looks down at the empty space in his chest before slowly looking at Artemis with wide eyes.

She slowly grins, dropping his heart in front of him as she steps forward, raising her leg and kicking him back into his seat before she appears in front of him.

She bends to his level, a taunting smile on her face. "What were you saying, god of war?" And then scoffs, her eyes turning cold as she watches the blood drip from his mouth.

"W-who a-a-are y-you?" He chokes out, somehow still alive and Artemis smiles.

"I am the daughter Leto and a descendant of the first Werewolves and I'm going to make sure your descendants never live to see the light of day. Because I Artemis, will kill them all."

She steps back after those words, watching in silence as the life slowly drains from him. I gulp remembering what Arson said about her.

Looking at the person beside me, everything suddenly makes sense. She made sure she killed each and everyone one of them except for Arson who managed to escape.

My throat runs dry as the scene slowly fades away only to be replaced by countless bodies, blood, wars and on top of all of them is Artemis.

Well more like Red since her eyes never changed to violet. They remained red through out as she claimed victory over every single one of them.

Her mercy was pretty much non-existent as she slaughtered countless lives.

It finally ends and the ground disappears again. Rising to my feet, I look around realizing that we're back in the present.

The chilly air cannot compare to the feeling of fear that I felt watching her. I look up, staring at the blank look on her face.

She steps away from me, creating enough distance. "That is me Storm. I did all those things. Even though Red was in control for over a decade, I did nothing to stop it. My bloodlust couldn't be quenched until my brother had to step in with Esme."

She sighs, looking down at her feet with a sad smile on her face. "And now it's my fault that all this has happened to you."

I frown. "No it's not."

She chuckles running her fingers through her hair. "I really want to believe you." She says but then stops shaking her head.

"After showing you this, I don't expect you to be with me or see me the same way you did. It's now up to you to decide if you want to leave or stay but first." She starts taking of her clothes piece by piece until she's left in her underwear.

My breath hitches and I lick my lips staring at her body. Fuck she looks so beautiful. My gaze travels further, stopping at her legs before slowly looking up to stare into her eyes.

"I love you." She whispers sadly, tears streaming from her eyes and before I can even think of anything or process what she just said, I hear bones breaking until her underwear rips from her body.

My jaw drops, eyes wide as my heart thumps loudly against my chest. "Artemis." I whisper.
