Storm's pov
Oh my God!
That's her brother?!! I mentally smack myself, of course that's her brother. He literally just said it but wait, what does he mean by again?
He scrutinizes the look on my face and quirks his brow. "Are you trying to figure out what I mean by again?" His deep alluring voice asks and I gulp, shaking my head before bobbing it up and down.
Artemis chuckles and steps between us. "You're kinda of in his personal space. Do you mind moving back?"
Apollo looks down at her and a faint smile appears on his face before he pulls her into his arms. "I'm happy to you see you little sister."
Artemis struggles in his arms but he only squeezes tighter forcing her to dangle in the air. I get over my shock and stare at them in amusement. Looking around, Lyle, Jay and Sunny both have their jaw dropped, eyes wide as they stare at the pair in shock; mostly him.
"Alright, alright, let me down." Artemis says and he releases her. He steps away from her and looks around the room, his brows shooting up when his gaze lands on my friends and sister.
"The friends and Ollie's mate are here." He states more than ask and I'm shocked that he knows about them. Lyle gulps, blinks a few times before he shakes his head, muttering under his breath.
Jay just looks stupefied and Sunny just has a blank look on her face. They are probably in shock but he doesn't bother and just turns to face Artemis with a serious look on his face.
"They are on their way little one." He says and Artemis purses her lips.
"How long till they reach?" She asks and I frown at them. What are they talking about?
He shrugs. "Not sure but you need to be ready."
She sighs and looks away but then her gaze falls behind him. "Alec, what are you doing here?" She asks in surprise and that's when we notice the guy quietly leaning against the wall with a blank look on his face.
His green eyes soften a bit and he steps away, walking towards Artemis with a smile. He stops beside Apollo and even with his height, it's still nowhere near the the god beside him.
"Hey Alpha Artemis."
Artemis smiles and quickly pulls him in a hug. "Why haven't you come around?"
My eyes narrow into slits and I glare at the arms, wrapped around her. Who the hell is this? Someone snickers in the background and I shift my eyes to stare at Ollie. He laughs, points at the two of them and mimics my expression.
I grit my teeth, glaring at him and he only chuckles. I look away to see them still hugging and I clench my jaw in irritation before stretching out my hand and pulling Artemis by her waist.
She yelps in surprise and whips her head around to face me but I still keep my eyes on the prissy in front of me.
"Storm what's wrong?" Artemis asks softly and prissy asshole chuckles and shakes his head.
"Possessive much." He says, staring at me in amusement and I narrow my eyes, mentally planning how to get rid of him. A soft laugh floats through my ears and I look down, my face softening at the look on her face.
She pats my arm and kisses my jaw. "Don't worry, he's like my son."
I nearly choke on my saliva when she says that but before I can ask what she means by that Esme walks into the room with a sour look on her face and plops down on the couch, gritting her teeth in annoyance.
"What's with the look?" Ollie says and she glares at him but gives a blank look when she sees Sunny.
She raises her brow, trailing her gaze over Sunny and then snorts at Ollie. "I'm surprised you have a mate Oliver."
Ollie narrows his eyes and wraps his arms tightly around Sunny. "What is that supposed to me?"
She looks over him at him one last time and the shrugs. "Artemis you don't have time."
Artemis sighs when she says that and then slowly steps away from me. Her eyes glaze over for a bit before it returns to normal and she sits down. We all follow suit but Alec stands behind Esme.
The room is quiet until the door opens and footsteps come towards us. Damien, Edward and Samaria step into the room but they freeze well with the exception of Damien whose gaze just travels around the room nonchalantly before it stops on Apollo.
He doesn't say anything and walks calmly to us before he bows and then sits down. Samaria and Edward come out of their shock and they do same as well. The room becomes quiet, no one speaks for awhile and Ollie sighs staring at all of us with a bored look.
"The atmosphere is depressing so can we all just get this over with."
Edward shoots him a dirty look and Sunny smacks his head. He pouts and looks away from us.
Artemis shakes her head at him, a tired sigh escaping her lips. "Ares and Arson have gathered a lot of people for this-
"Including my sister and some of the black witches." Esme adds in annoyance. Artemis purse her lips and runs her fingers through her hair. It would seem that there might not be luck on our side. I take her hand in mine, rubbing my thumb on the back of her hand.
She looks at me and I smile reassuringly at her. She smiles back and squeezes my hand.
"I have asked the other Alphas for help and so far only two are willing to help, the other's don't know how severe it is." She says and gets up. "Selena is on a mission to see if the others can help her and hopefully by tomorrow we might get an answer."
The room suddenly becomes gloomy and I look at Artemis, no matter what I'm going to protect her.
"Damien." She calls and he looks up. "What's the situation with the other packs?"
"All over the world, Ares has been able to get one third of the packs including the Alphas. Those who refused he wiped them out."
Gasps are heard and I clench my jaw. He definitely is the god of war. A dark aura surrounds the room and I can tell that Artemis is trying to control her self. Her fingers dig deeply into her palms but then she takes deep breaths before letting go.
"Esme send a message to them. Tell them we are coming." She says and I frown quickly getting up.
"What are you planning Artemis?"
She smiles, her eyes flashing a bit. "I won't wait for them to come to me, I would rather go to them." I gulp at the blood thirsty look in her eyes.
Apollo gets up and walks calmly to us. "I'll pick the place." He says and disappears.
Everyone goes back to their own house. Later that night, Artemis and I lay closely together. My arms wound tightly around her waist as I breath in her scent. She traces my chest absentmindly and I kiss her hair.
"What's on your mind?" I whisper, too scared to break the silence in the room.
Artemis sighs, wrapping her arms tightly around my waist and nuzzles her face against my chest. "I don't want you to participate in this war-"
"What?!" I yell and she looks up to face me with a sad look in her eyes.
"You and I both know how dangerous it is Storm and even with your powers and all your training, it's still not going to be enough."
I scoff flipping her around. She looks up at me with those same sad eyes and I frown watching as her eyes tear up. My gaze softens and I lean down, pressing my lips against her without moving it, just relishing the softness of her mouth.
"You don't need to worry Artemis. I told you that I'm going to protect you and always stay by your side." I say wiping her tears away and she chokes on her sob wrapping her hands around my neck tightly.
"But I can't help but feel something bad is going to happen and I won't be able to protect you." She sobs out and I squeeze her to myself, running my fingers through her hair.
"Nothing is going to happen to me Artemis. I'll always be here for you and besides I need to keep the guys away." I add jokingly and she pulls back, slapping my chest playfully. I smile when I realize she has stopped crying and I cup her cheeks, resting my forehead against her own.
"I love you Artemis and we're both going to get through this."
She inhales sharply and nods, kissing my lips. "I love you Storm."
