Okay let's go!!!!
Storm's Pov
It's been two weeks since the camping trip, two weeks of having strange dreams about violet eyes which I don't even know why I have those dreams and also two weeks since Carla decided to make it a personal mission to pester me. The lady needs to take a chill pill and back off. I really don't know why she doesn't understand the meaning of a break up like does she want me to spell it out for her because I will and she's following me. Signs that my morning is not going to be great since she's breathing down my back, gosh her voice is more annoying than the noise she is making with those ridiculous heels she's wearing.
"Storm, babe just listen to me okay." She pleads trying to catch up with me. Well she definitely won't be catching up to me anytime time soon especially not with those heels.
"Carla I'm trying to be a gentleman here but you are really making it difficult for me not to act like a jerk right now." I tell her not caring if she heard it or not. Where the hell is my class and why can't I find the door to the damn lecture room. I hear rushed footsteps behind me, grabbing my wrists and turning me abruptly to face her and I'm definitely not impressed with those sad eyes she is giving me. Trying to catch her breath, she runs her hands through her hair and sighs.
"Look like I said, I messed up and I'm sorry but give us a chance okay. It was foolish of me to cheat on such an amazing guy like yourself but I love you and-"
"Ahem! You're blocking the way." A soft voice cuts her of, caressing my whole body making me shiver. That voice sounds so familiar, I've heard it somewhere but where, where did I hear that voice and most importantly why am I reacting so much to the voice. Turning to look behind me, I freeze on the spot, eyes wide as I stare at her, black hair surrounds her face, lips naturally formed into a pout. Could she be the girl I see in my dreams? I look into her eyes, oh it's green. Disappointment fills my whole body but I take deep breaths and smile slightly.
A hand tugging on my wrist pulls me from the stare, shaking my head I turn to see a scowl on Carla's face. Gently prying her hands from my wrist, I spot a bored look on my face as I answer her.
"After everything you said I realized why I decided not to be a therapist." Her jaw drops, offering her a fake smile I turn back to face her and my breath hitches at the look she's giving me, my shoulders brush against her as I walk past her and my body jolts at the contact. She inhales sharply and I cough loudly puzzled by how my body came alive with just that touch. I turn to look at her but realize she's gone.
*****
I want to know her, no I need to know her. She is messing with me, for goodness sake I couldn't even concentrate in class because all I saw where those eyes but something is missing from those eyes and I know it. It's like my gut is telling me that she is different and what is so weird about this whole thing is I have never seen her around before. Yes I know it's a big college but there is no way with a body and face like hers it would be hard to miss. Walking with Lyle and Jay, we head to Betty's diner for lunch, she's like a second mother to me but I had to reduce the number of times I went there because her sixteen year old daughter kept on hitting on me. The place is less packed today which I'm so thankful for, Jay picks a booth closer to the window.
"What can I get you guys?" A nasal voice says and I raise my head quickly regretting that decision. "Oh my gosh, Storm is that you?" She says excitedly. No it's Pikachu.
"Yeah it's me." I give an awkward smile to her, wiggling my fingers as she smiles coyly at me, twirling a strand of her brown hair around her finger. Lyle coughs trying to mask the laugh that wants to escape him whilst Jay looks everywhere but her face. She tried to sleep with Jay when he was drunk one time, he screamed bloody murder when he saw what was about to happen and for some weird reason he calls her a banshee.
She brings her gaze to Jay who might I add is still averting her gaze, fluttering her lashes she gives him a smile, "Oh hi Jay." She says in a voice that I think is meant to be seductive but rather it feels like a frog stuck in her throat.
"Nadia." He says giving her a brief nod without looking at her.
"Nadia! Stop flirting and take their orders!" A familiar voice yells coming closer to our table. A smile appears on my face when Betty appears at our table, eyes wide when she sees me. She hasn't changed one bit, those light crinkles by her eyes when she smiles, brown hair in a messy bun and brown eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Storm! It's been so long." She says excitedly pulling me in for a tight hug which I gladly return and sniff her, damn she still smells like cookies. She pulls back and cups my cheek looking into my eyes as a stern expression takes over her face. "Why haven't you come around?"
"Uh, I had things to do?" It's sounds more like a question than a statement and I'm guessing she doesn't appreciate it because she gives me the famous Betty look, pursing her lips and scrunching her nose. She looks at me one last time and rolls her eyes before that beautiful smile takes over again.
"I know you're full of bullshit but I'll let it slide if you promise to come around more. I've missed you a lot." She pouts making me chuckle.
"I've missed you too." I reply giving her a small smile.
"Hey! We come here all the time Betty." Lyle protests.
"Yes I know but it's quite annoying because I'm getting sick of looking at that thing you call a face." She says with a straight look on her face. The dreadful look on Lyle's face has me muffling my laugh with a cough but Jay is full on laughing here.
"B-but Betty you-"
"I'm messing with you Lyle." She says with a teasing smile, going over and pinching his cheeks not so lightly might I add. "You'll always be my least favorite." She tells him and walks away without taking our orders but I know she knows what we want so it's cool.
Jay scoots closer to the table as he brings his elbow underneath his chin with an excited look on his face, eyes dancing with mischief and I know from that look alone, whatever he is going to say is about a girl he wants to do the devil's tango with. "Have you seen the new girl?" He asks and my mind wanders to the girl I met this morning.
"What girl?" Lyle mutters looking confused.
"She was in my class this morning, black hair, green eyes and that body." He licks his lips just thinking about it. Ew. From his description it's the girl I met in the morning.
"Nope haven't seen her." Lyle says with a bored look. One thing Lyle says when Jay describes a girl is, until I see her she ain't pretty to me. He is stupid as they come in a package for thinking that.
"Lyle I know what you're thinking but trust me she is hot totally different from the girls you see me with." He continues to describe her and something flares within me from the way he is talking about her.
"Oh Yeah, that's what you said with the last seven girls you talked about so I ain't buying that shit but anyway you want her?" Lyle questions and Jay winks at him. Oh hell no.
"No." I snap at Jay with a glare on my face.
"Whoa dude, what's with the attitude?" Jay raises his hand in surrender, closing my eyes I take deep breaths. Just then our food arrives and I stuff my face to avoid explaining why I snapped at him.
"So you've met her." Lyle states after some time and I narrow my eyes at the grin on his face. He is about to say something when the bell rings, the air around me changes, my body coming alive heart beating fast and I turn to watch who came in and it's her. The girl I met this morning but she has company with her. A guy and a girl flank her side as she looks around the diner taking everything in, an irritated look crosses her face when the guy says something and she turns to hit his head. The other girl laughs at the exchange rolling her eyes and saying something to both of them.
"Shit that's her."Jay says
"Which one?" Lyle questions.
"The one in the middle." He points out. Lyle gasp and I'm pretty sure he has the whole fish face look. You know like the face fishes make when they about to take a shit. Wait a minute do fishes even take a shit?
"Damn." He murmurs. I ignore both of them and continue to stare at her just waiting for her to turn and as if sensing my gaze, her eyes connect with mine. The air charges around us, everything disappears and it's just the two of us in the room. She doesn't blink and neither do I, just staring at each other well I'm more like checking her out but let's just call it staring. It all stops when she blinks to look at the girl who is watching me with a curious look before a smirk appears on her face.
"So you like her." Jay wiggles his brow suggestively at me and Lyle smirks.
"You look stupid doing that and I don't even know her." I mutter, looking away to avoid the teasing looks they are sending my way.
"So you wouldn't mind if I-
"Don't touch her." I snap at Lyle but quickly compose myself when I see the smug look on his face.
He scoffs at me,"I don't even know her." He replies mockingly. Jay snickers at me and I roll my eyes at them.
"Hello." A feminine voice says and we all turn to see it's them. How on earth did we not hear them coming.
"Well hello there." Jay retorts winking at her and I see Lyle shaking his head at him but my focus remains on her and only her.
"You look ridiculous doing that." The girl laughs at Jay's deer in headlights expression.
"Yes! Finally a girl who can see how stupid he looks doing that." Lyle exclaims causing her to look at him with a curious look. I use the time to study both of them, I don't know why but something about all three of them seems different considering they look so fit but aside from that there's something.
"My name is Selena, that's Ollie."She points to the guy who gives us a nod bringing his gaze to me as something flickers within those blue eyes of his. A smirk appears on his face followed by a smack to the head.
He rubs the back of his head and turns to face green eyes, "I swear if you hit my head again I'm gonna-
"You're gonna what?" She fires back, that shuts him up real quick. I watch amused at their exchange but a frown quickly graces my face.
"Are you dating?" Slight pain flares in my chest just by thinking of them together. I don't even know her, so why am I feeling so jealous just thinking of them together. A disgusted look appears on her face as she shakes her head at me.
"Why would I date that thing ?" She retorts softly. That's a relief.
"How dare you!" Ollie gasps putting his hand on his chest offering her an offended look. "I'll have you know that a lot of girls-
"No one cares Billy goat so shut up." Selena snaps rolling her eyes at the incredulous look he gives her. "This is Artemis." She points to green eyes and my heart lurches at her name.
Artemis.
She brings her gaze to me smiling lightly as blush coats her cheeks. I groan inwardly when my body heats at the innocent look, so adorable, I would do anything to kiss those cheeks.
Okay, slow down cowboy where is this coming from.
"I'm Jay, that's Lyle and dumber over there is Storm." Jay introduces and I catch a grin spreading across Artemis' face when she hears my name.
"Do you mind if we sit, my legs are killing." Selena says and without even waiting for an answer pushes her friends and herself into the booth. Artemis sits from across me, I take in her features, from her long lashes to a perfectly shaped eyebrow. Dude got freckles, score. She returns my gaze fiercely not backing down and a smirk makes way unto my face.
"Like what you see?" She rolls her eyes at me, licking her lips. My eyes follow the movement wishing I was the one licking those lips.
Hello George of the jungle.
The sudden intrusion in my head startles me. What the heck? I've heard that voice before, it came along with violet eyes. Those eyes that have been haunting my dreams for so long, eyes I wish to see once more.
"Is there a problem?" Artemis says softly, amusement swirling within those green eyes. I narrow my eyes at her but she shrugs and looks at her friends who are in a conversation with my friends.
"So are you guys new in town?" Lyle questions.
"Yeah we are but I don't think we will be staying for long." Ollie mutters.
"Why?" Jay asks curiously and he shrugs.
"We just came for something and after that we'll be on our way." Selena adds.
"So where are you from?" I direct my question towards Artemis, raising her head she tilts her head to the side regarding me with a cool look before shrugging. "You know it's rude not to answer a question." I state bluntly.
Her mouth twitches a bit before it relaxes again, "I'm from somewhere between here and there." Staring so hard as if daring me to challenge her answer.
"So are you single Selena?" Jay ask with a flirty smile on his face.
"Yes, do you know any better looking guy?" She retorts.
"I'm a better looking guy." Jay replies
"Sorry honey but you're not my type." She replies with a sorry look that has Jay staring wide eyed at her. I really don't know how long he can take such blows to his ego.
"What do you mean by I'm not your type." He says incredulously. " You must be lost baby girl because I'm everyone's type." He says smugly.
"Guess you're cheap then." Holy guacamole she did not just say that. That table is silent as we all stare at Jay and Selena until Lyle and Ollie burst out laughing.
"I'm sorry Jay but-"Lyle doesn't finish his sentence when more laughs erupt from him, Ollie bangs his fist on the table, face red as he points at Jay. I would have laughed but giggles had me staring at Artemis, her eyes light up with happiness, dimples appearing on both cheeks has me staring so badly. Can she get any perfect?
Stop staring.
It's that soft voice again in my head. Am I going mad or something because hearing voices in my head is the start of madness.
"Whatever, your loss." Jay mutters looking outside the window.
"Don't feel bad Jay." A teasing grin appears on Selena's face.
"We have to go now." Artemis stands abruptly shocking everyone at the table. She looks at Ollie and Selena with a meaningful look and they nod getting up as well.
"Wait where are you guys going to?" I ask also getting up.
"Somewhere." Artemis replies softly.
"Will you ever give me a straight answer?" I sigh. She gives me a small smile and walks away with Ollie and Selena behind them.
"So is no one gonna talk about them not ordering any food?" Lyle mutters as we watch them walk away.
